Shame it's all seeming the same. No matter wat you do or who you go see. Sorry. Chris your having these problems. As so many others. To have to think about moving to be able to maybe find a doc to help you live!! More and more are having to go to web sites which can be bad or good.. Sad to say we have to try. Take care. I wish everyone could get the true help they needed!! More doctors like a few posted last yr. that fight for patients rights. Califorina I think, would have to go way back on the posts. I forgot his name, some might remember.

I was seeing a pain dr for 10 years. l was on 250mcgh of fentanyl patches and 60mg of oxycodone, and on the day of my last appt to see him in April of 2007 the receptionist said he no longer is able to see patients and I thought what a load of s***. So l asked her so what am l to do now? It takes over a month to get in to see a pain dr. She said I'm sorry and good luck. Hmmm, so l called my insurance company explained it they gave me 3 referral's. l called the first one made an appt. Explained the entire situation to him he immediately took over my care and continued my regiment. Then after 6 years new laws and regulation plus the fact l had recently found out he was also treating my daughter for the last 2 1/2 years and then in april of 2012 she died. And when l asked the doctor about he said it was a shame and l point blank asked him if he had prescribed any medication for he looked at me and said no none. Then when the detective calls and tells me that Dr. Bloch in hilliard ohio had in fact been prescribing 12 different medications to her. l said what a f***ing liar, the pharmacy reports sure didn't so l thought to myself if l see this sucker one more time l would f***ing kill him with my bare hands. So on January 17th of this year l stopped seeing him. At first l knew it was the right thing to do and as time went on maybe l was not so sure. l had to see 3 pain specialists and all 3 were afraid of the state of ohio to prescribe anything regardless of what l was on. After almost 16 years of having somewhat of a normal life the state says f***ing suffer to everyone and tie the hands of every doctor in ohio. So to make a long story short if you suffer chronic debilitating pain on a daily basis and need pain meds to function you have one of to choices - 1st you can move to another state or country like Canada or you can order your med via mail order but you did not hear it from me.

BL-You keep saying adjust to less meds-duh! I have that why cant function/think now really in trouble cuz am just laying. Gonna go withdraws with less...I could exist on 1/3 of dose was on which was half of what I was on for over 12yrs. So in other words dropped dose to 1/10th of my previous. Need 10x's present dose to function like I used to for 12 yrs. But willing to exist on 1/10th just so not actually die from stressed out organs. Sorry to be blunt but really no further adjustments can be made if pm drs. feel this dose too much after 15yrs of pain then I may as well not take anything & give up entirely living. Co To Fl I have emailed you-
Take care all-be as painfree as possible

Chris, you probably won't find a primary to handle your pain. You need to go to a pain Dr and stick with them, even they won't rx you anything for the first visits. The problem is no Dr is going to give you the meds you were taking in anywhere near that high a dose. You need to tell a Dr a do not expect that. You have z choice, you can either have nothing for your pain or you can make major lifestyle adjustments and manage with less meds. Also look into seeing a psychologist that deals with chronic pain patients. You are going to have to pay for any help you get from the stand point of help with activities if you don't qualify for Medicaid. You may also have to make lifestyle adjustments to be able to afford drs

What the primary meant was he couldn't do anything for you as far as your pain is concerned.

BL-saw primary for 1st time (since he new & temp for my regular primary who also is new)- we had never met so when he saw me he immediately wrote me month script but told me that all he allowed to do since he internist not pm. Then asked what drs. I had seen to replace my lost pm.dr. & said he would help me find new dr for pm. I was so elated that he seemed to be good primary dr but since then I found out he from Puerto Rico knows nobody here at all in US,not even laws really, so he says there is nothing he can do to help me. In other words his heart may be right place but he is useless for me. My survivor instinct says get new primary who CAN HELP ME. But same as with pm dr. I have no idea where to locate a good primary either with limited funds, wheelchair bound, in constant limiting pain-I NEED HELP from somewhere/body & soon. Have existed in pain taking only dose to keep me out of withdraws but still massive limiting pain which not only physically but mentally keeps me well below par function-wise. Feel like a kindergarten kid with brain-level while moan trying not to let pain load me to ground immobilized. idk what saying-need advocate who can think for me as well as help physically-mostly someone to think for me to find way out of this spiral into permanent vegetable of moans. Pls anyone with info good drs. in FL I feel word of mouth best referrals always but cannot get out or think enough how to find ppl with opinions so am here.
HELP,
Chris-Daytona Bch,FL

Wow ?? Kentucky sorry to hear that. Please few thoroughly through these posts. If I'm not mistaken I've seen Dr DNA.es but I'm sure you have done you homework. Must look through might b a pm clinic or Dr that would help. Sometime it takes talking to the right person. I found my Dr by word of mouth he's A MD DO my primary writes all my meds he's an you and half drive one way. I moved out of a state that jus not help me after 2 years of being opate free, it was rough. Suicidal thought s and plans. I had to get outta that state. I did everything one can do therapy inj's. all that. I had a great Dr. He just didn't believe in opiates...so moving to another state isn't crazy ag all.i figured my kids would rather us move then to off myself!; good luck hang in there. If I were you jd go to the methadone clinic just for now. If you choose suboxone , subutext, it wont touch your pain, well for most ppl it doesn't. Actually methadone has been the best for my pain ever. My doc doesn't prescibe it. Good luck

Juju you will most likely have to go to the PM clinics, if you plan to be on a narcotic for longer than 6 months. If you pass all their evaluations and have current MRI or xrays reports etc. The guidelines my pm followed in 2012 I was on Norco or percocet, all immediately release meds. So they started me on 15 mg extended relief ?? morphine. I'm up to 60 now. I'm staying here. I'm glad I have a long WA to go to reach my ceiling, meaning Dr's can increase my dose or change up my meds for tolerance reasons. Anyway they pit me on the Norco as a breakthrough. If they don't put you on an extended release med and just keep u on you dose you I don't think you'd have problems getting Norco from P.M.

Wish I could b of more help ... Seems like these past yrs. still the same for all who truly suffer . Maybe I can get on the talk forum on wed.s . I'll have to find more on how. I've (we've) had it with these docs. No compassion & now seems hands r tied. Regulations bull. & 2 afraid. They r overwhelmed & being pushed around. Miss the old days. I'm checking on reputable place 2 start getting care... Have checked & will if I can let u no more,i will. I no you can't sometimes get messages through. So if I can I'd like to b able to join the chat group... If that's ok. I've known you all for so long & the suffering continues & is @ an all time high. Y is this continuing ?? Sad to read but true the thoughts about ending the suffering by so many & this America chronic pain becoming a joke to try to survive. My best & Lv. Be glad your not in Ky. ddd, arthritis an 8 bulging discs. I've been on oxycodone 15 for 2 years, cut off completely!due to all laws an drs scared!only 5,yes 5 certified pain clinics in ky,they have offices in every big town,so looks like lots more!My dr told me ,you want die but you think you are, whew he was right longggg 30 days! I haven't been out the house but 2 times in 30 days! withdrawals are gone but pain o my. Anyway of those 5 clinics, all they do is shots now, for new patients! My life long Dr wont write because he's scared, HE TOLD ME TO MOVE OUT OF KY IF I CAN. IF NOT, KY DONT CARE YOU WILL SUFFER THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! And since im no longer to work or function without major pain, I cant move..never had cannabis in my life, but if had a medical id try it!! you all are in my thoughts as i read your stories, and im outta options! Sad day in America when death is a mans best alternative!

Chris, did you see the primary complaining of pain? Did he tell you to find a new primary Dr?

Where are you? I have a couple I know of in the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area. Must sign contract and submit drug panels and pill counts. Otherwise all is well. I'm not thrilled with mine, but he does treat my chronic pain.

Chris, I just saw they did a four states bust Mississippi and other states, but also more media about opiate use....so you do have a primary now? Is that what I understand?

Co To Fl- great news I look forward to our exchange- I now am in need of primary dr. also since my temporary one told me he doesn't know what to do (he from Puerto Rico taking place of my new primary). So now I have no"home base dr." to be there either-pain drs. here I fear just are so few I cannot afford $$ or physically to see enough to find the good one. With media keeping all drug war alive as in news release from Rueters today (posted on yahoo) a Dr. Friedan states how to 'fix' the problem by limiting pain meds being prescribed the solution. Confusion of pain meds used by legit patients & monitored by their drs verses abuse, street drugs & pushers is unbearable. Apparently (according to Dr. Friedan) opiate use has escalated because of prescribed meds - which opposite is true -abusers turning to street drugs due to DEA laws since they're easier to get. So abusers will do whatever, therefore why do we suffer for them? So WRONG & drs. proclaiming BS to public makes it more difficult for legitimate patients. I cant think or type more...

Please be well,
Chris
