I used to take hydracodone 10mg for chronic headaches prescribed by my psychiatrist. But I abused my medication for one year went to rehab because I built a tolerance to it. Now my psychiatrist can't prescribe it. My family physician in Denton, Texas won't prescribe it at all. I have chronic headaches and migraines, I need help!

BL you are a joke. I was forced to travel to California or would die. You are not seeing a pain specialist. FURTHER you are clearly not reading. I am on about 30% of my high dosage. It really pisses you off to hear I am a genetic P450 and given what is supposed to be given that someone (not you) received proper treatment. I think you are a troll on this site inciting anger in people needing support. Further you are now quoting AA mantra "doing the same thing getting a different result" what a joke so let's see BL is an addict.

I've seen one physician and am seeking one in Texas or nearby if possible. The Texas Medical Board underwent changes in 2010 limiting all doctors who do PM to register as a clinic. So normals had difficulty. Not one time BL did I say I MUST have but I must have a physician. I am too smart for your BS. Don't troll pain patients, if you find a fellow addict then talk to him or her but leave Pain Patients alone!

P450, none I know will treat you because of your high dose.and your insisting on these specific meds. You also may want to consider that if you can travel around like you have been with no pain meds that you don't need as strong a meds as you think you do. I know you won't agree with this. But traveling to multiple states and still.no Dr will treat you should tell you that the problem isn't the drs.

If you.keep on doing the same thing and getting the same results, you need to change what you're doing. Try going to a Dr and not telling them what you think you need. Compromise.

BL the local doc is no good and today is my birthday and I'm fighting the other demon I will take suggestions or physicians across the U.S. Has nothing to do with WC paperwork it's a claim from over 15 years ago 100% medical award for life unless I settle and won't even consider it UNTIL I am stable again. Louisiana is closest for me and Dr. Troy just does not do my medication type and due to P450 I must stick (and allergic to over 500 medications other allergens et al. I actually had to get generic on the one time fill from the first doc I visited with (even made f/u on the net because his associate cannot do WC for some reason not to worry) but help is really needed. I already made sense on my SSA, the attorney I spoke to is literally a d****, worthless waste of time this weekend, and I am so exhausted that doing my legal is driving me up the roof. Wonderful birthday today. Like I said I can be MIA if worse comes to work. One of my PAINERS that I love dearly as a friend contacted me today she is usually in Texas but living out in Georgia she actually was seeing the famous Dr. T. for she was a patient of Dr. H's and got her out when he died (referral medical) emailed about a group I gave her from here it looks like they are in Tennesee but someone said no Alabama. I won the WC recent court battle but do not trust them in providing a proper panel and we know the politics will be "oh we'll find 3 more yada yada" that is why if I do it myself and trust in God there will e resolution.

Skittles I used to refer (now well over 10,000) suicidal pain patients who were all over the U.S. (insured, indigent you name it) but deteriorated and my former famous pain specialist made me stop but when I came on here for help it's something I do. I no longer have a list the changes since Odumma came in office is why we are all drowning, suffocating in a mire of haters, and political do gooders who have not yet had 5 minutes of RSD, or just one fat prickly kidney stone to let them know what we live 24/7 BUT I have a few names I've found on searches that may or may not help folks. BL is saying this for any HC (hydrocodone preparations) are now class 2's originally when the DEA pushed for that change it occurred gradually (state by state) but now it is DEA bound; just like constipation from proper opioid therapy it just doesn't stop. With that in mind I see one name I found on search but have no idea one way or another if he/she/they exist or will do what you need. Further I cannot really do medical referrals without contact--I take information, do a written report, and usually only with those who I used to do pain support for--who attended chats, and lastly who when I wrote such a referral had their legal status (address, phone) and felt comfort signing my name and license to. But I noticed a few physicians and NY is big on the NY posts:

Dr. Robert Durante
611 Northern Blvd.
Manhasett, NY

Dr. Weingarten (Long Island)

Dr. Michael Merrick

I know nothing of them personally but if you require regular dosing perhaps it is time for a LA and use the HC for BT.

Peace out!

BL it's time to throw your rope my way. I am sure whoever you are seeing would be capable of treating my case.

To P450 from SH.

I am now in preparation for beginning the methadone program in Virginia. They require 4 wks of treatment readiness group meetings. It is for opiate addicts. But, when I had no insurance, the Dr prescribed methadone. When I got disability, it was t continued by pain management. Took it 13 yrs. As I told you before, I got a pump, became psychotic, took 2/3rds of a prescription of methadone, and was released.

I did take the medicine, and played it up to get in the methadone clinic. That was one too many medication errors. I am glad I had some left while I was without a pm dr. That event left me out of 2 pm drs in Virginia that prescribe meds. There is another group, too. So for those near Va Beach, there are 3 Dr groups that use meds as part if an overall pm program. The 3rd group I went to on the pump; released me for a non therapeutic relationship / overuse of resources. They are in Portsmouth. The truth was there were no more pump drs except in Richmond Virginia and beyond. But, if you have a long history of chronic pain and meds, it may be difficult to be accepted. Five trips to ER has gotten me a flag, I believe. They wouldn't give me a shot last time, saying will drag out withdrawal. I asked how was I to deal with pain? Go to pain management, they said. Anyway, my insurance does not cover the methadone, will cost $180/Mth. That is what I am doing for pain right now. Thanks for the suggestion. Come to Va Beach, p450

BL let me make this clear the LIFE of a pain patient comes FIRST to me. You do and say what you like I have a license that I stand by when Dr. H. died we had 300 in his practice around the country; we lost 3. One physician wrote or offered pro bono for one month--3 could not make it to Texas it was not their time to visit and had no travel funds. I'd rather a pain patient went to a methadone clinic and LIVED and identified his/her true nature so they are not treated like an addict. You are callous at times.

Both in my case. Either throw a referral or don't bother with me I am sure I've done more to help anyone reading my posts then not.

P450, point is that Methadone Clinics do not treat chronic pain patients for their pain. A letter you or a Dr writes doesn't mean a patient will be treated for their chronic pain and not addiction. It isn't a Methadone Clinics job to find pain.management for anyone. They may tell the patient they are treating their pain, but that is not what records show.

Are you having difficulty finding a pain Dr because of the meds you state you need or because of the wc paperwork? I thought it was the meds but then I read where you said the last Dr you saw wouldn't fillout the wc paperwork.

I have an incurable health condition which I would rather not mention and three other very painful health issues and have been suffering for the last 20 years. The only med that I was ever able to get was Tylenol #3 (such a joke). I moved to Arkansas and was actually able to find a Pain Management Specialist who was kind and compassionate. He was very good at titrating and maintaining...definitely NOT a quack. He put me on Percocet and a low dosage of unbuffered hydrocodone (as needed). I had to move back to California and if you live here, FORGET IT IF YOU WANT ANYTHING STRONGER THAN TRAMADOL!!!! Most of them will profile you as a "drug chaser" and practically throw you out of the office. You have to be in the hospital or a hospice or a nursing home to get pain meds..that actually relieve you of your pain. I do love California but the health system here is atrocious. I've been here now for 3 years and there are no Pain Management specialists like that good doctor back in Arkansas. I have not been able to find any in my area. I am old and very ill. I don't have a lot of years left. Someone like me who is so sick and elderly and they are afraid that I will get addicted?? LOL. So what? Back in the 50's, 60's, and 70's, most doctors were compassionate and treated you like a real person and not just a dollar sign. If you have chronic pain, don't move to California.

P450 I have been reading your posts and find the syndrome very interesting. I am a nurse also but am unfamiliar with this condition. I am aware everyone metabolizes hings at a different rate, requiring different doses for different patients. Some requiring more meds than others. The articles I have read do talk more about responses to psych meds. Would love to have more info on this and how you were diagnosed.

BL but at the end when a pain patient is on his/her last rope I do refer them to a methadone clinic and if doing a professional referral with my signature and license signed at the end ask "please get this legitimate pain client to a pain management clinic within your area asap they are here only because we could not replace their physician" then I advise the party not to include this in their next PM visit unless specifically asked and then I allow them to call me. Right now I could not provide that service I will be up to my neck finding a doctor immediately, I have a lawyer I am speaking with on the other matter, and so on we cannot share email addresses which is a negative. {edited for privacy}. I have not lost one person to suicide yet but I must take care of me too.

BL that is something I already posted do you think that is why I had to go to California for 5 years you are wrong--people like I die from Central Pain Syndrome; I had 19 hospitalizations in house in 2004 they did not know why I kept going to hypokalemia and CRF well it was intractable pain killing me. We need to look at the medical issue that now exists for MANY years pain was not treated as a diagnosis thank God it is now and you still have physicians who attempt to treat FM with antipsychotics and cold medicine or worse saying it's nonexistent (it is), but also if it is a symptom on the worse end terminal cancer or due to impending renal failure and low potassium (K+) pain takes many forms I do agree. That is why I'd never do that for I will need pain management for life in fact I'd like a pump at this point for you need less opioid and with the FDA fence we are on it would help a few who require high levels. So you have a physician and trust me I'm going to use SSA in Louisiana the local one here is fraudulent let's leave it at that :)

Pain management drs rareky, if ever, will treat a patient that has been in a Maintenance Treatment Program for opiate addiction. Methadone clinics treat addicts not chronic pain patients. Many people aren't aware of this.

With the education and experience you say you have, you should be able to find a Dr to treat your pain in your home state.
