Kay-Idk where or what planet you are on but pain mgt. drs. these days dont prescribe meds-they take you off pain meds......there is this hysteria of a war on drugs which has turned chronic pain into a crime not to be treated but to be persecuted and prosecuted. Fear of the DEA has caused pain drs. to stop relieving pain or get another career. If your clinic/dr. still gives you pain meds it wont be long before he/she stops with no explanation to you(or some make up false reasons just for appearances).

Our reps & senators ignore us and allow the barbaric climate of untreated severe chronic pain to murder us.
With treatment life was at best extremely difficult, however, total lack of treatment is nothing less than murder at a dragged out agonizing rate. We are trapped being tortured constantly with no mode of relief. I feel as though my brain will explode from being trapped in this agony and no way out. Only wish all these gov, DEA, CDC, FDA, self righteous cruel bastards would be in my shoes to experience this indescribable horrendous 24/7 trap of agony.

BL-never said anything about politicians-only inquiring info on Trump's plans for chronic pain since I have not kept up on recent news due to being in an incapacitated state too much of my time. S****y to hear his views-however cannot say I am surprised.

Everyone better get used to the fact one day, and one day soon, none of us will be getting narcotics. My pain doctor and my primary doctor are getting new guidelines on a regular basis to continue to decrease ALL chronic pain patients to where we will not be on anything, this is a FACT!!! It doesn't matter how bad each of us are suffering, doctors are not going to write scripts for pain meds and loose their licenses, it is out of their hands.

@MM, I have to disagree with ur statement on No Dr will write narcotic pain meds for pain management. I do agree they are cutting back on mg & doses but they are not going to cut opiate out completly, too many ppl suffer from chronic pain, unfortunately many have abused them & the dea must do something to control this but it would be extremly unethical & inhumane to not help ppl in legitimate pain. There still are Drs that write narcotics its just harder to find them.
I suggest everyone write a letter to ur Congress and/or DEA on ur situation, don't expect a reply but atleast we will be heard.
I wish everyone luck & blessings. Xo

Tara, I am not saying right now there are no pain doctors that will write the scripts, I myself still get pain meds but I have personally spoken to Mike DeWines office in Ohio and the goal is that the government is making very difficult for the pain doctors to properly write the scripts for the dosages that will keep a chronic pain patient pain free or at least functional. 5 yrs ago my previous pain doctor told me about what was going to be happening and he was 100% right. If there are doctors out there willing to prescribe dosages high enough to control pain then that patient is extremely lucky, all I am saying is I have heard it directly from the drug task force and numerous doctors where I live and many other chronic pain sufferers and it is going to get more difficult to get pain meds. I have been cut down to a dose that I can barely function.

MM, its such a terrible situation. Thats why i strongly suggest everyone write a letter. It definitely cant hurt. I have given suggestions on how to control the abuse. Like i said its inhumane to take away medication that is giving good ppl quality of life.
I have been off pain management for 8 months bc of unforeseen circumstances and Im miserable, trying to find another decent doc is rough...however i do have an appt coming up , fingers crossed hes not affraid to prescribe, he had me sign narcotic agreememt already so thats a good sign.... i hope.
P.s. I reside in northeast Pa.
Take care

Tara, that is definitely a good sign if you already signed an agreement. I agree with writing letters, I emailed Mike Dewine. I am in Ohio, then I received a call from his opiate task force asking for my story. It is a very tough situation we are all in. My issues are not going to get better, only worse as I get older which is causing other issues such as depression and isolation. I just cannot get through to these ppl, good luck with your new doctor.

Angela, I feel for you, that can be excruciating pain...... However I just had to let you know even broken bones will not get you pain relief. Due to incurable bone disease I must live with both my forearms snapped in half unable to heal. My knees are both frozen in sitting position fused sideways at my knee caps. My back is humped plus curved, my skeleton is disintegrating leaving me beyond constant pain and visually looking like a horror story monster. My point is after losing my pain Dr of 12 yrs
No Dr would take me on as a patient. They saw me then immediately told me they couldn't help. I was given every excuse you can imagine plus some who truthfully told me. They couldn't lose their license by prescribing what I needed. The DEA ruled their ability to be a Dr. I spent ten months and thousands of dollars driving from one end of state to the other to finally get a clinic which was two hr drive each way to treat me with less than one third of my already insufficient dosage. Nightmare
living ensued for a year, then my previous good Dr returned (long story). I am in second month back with him, life is
improving yet no where near previous years of pain relief allowing me to be a human being. Those times I fear are long gone with no hope of returning. Thank God I am old enough to be dying soon. A fact I am accepting more due to this constant agony
with no way out. We are being murdered by our gov, our lives are of no matter let alone the barbaric attitude that existing in 24/7 agony is totally acceptable. My only wish is karma will leave those responsible in similar position as I am in along with their relatives, all their friends, and any one else they are connected to in life. Spiteful yes but actually there is no payback
for the cruel, inhumane, barbaric, deadly indifference they have bestowed upon me and you and all of us in need.

Lynx, this is exactly what I am saying, some people don't want to believe it, but you are a perfect example with your situation, the doctors are not going to loose their licenses for anyone, this is completely unfair and it leaves us very hopeless. It is a FACT.

I am 70 I have pain every day I feel so bad for u. We put animals down to keep them from suffering, but older people are dying every day in pain. What's wrong with our country, what's wrong with the medical doctor's in this country? Here's wishing u the best. I am ready to
move back to Texas. My DO treated me better than I have been treated here, it's a shame that our
country is letting our generation suffer and die in pain, all because of the f.d.a., they are killing us.

Can anyone tell me how many of our congressmen are Doctor's? How is it they know how much pain meds a person in cronic pain should get? Do they see these people personally so they can decide what and how much pain killers we need so we can have a "Quality of Life"? How come we who have cronic pain are the one's being punished for the drug epidemic? Why is it when some one on the street that are doing drugs don't get in trouble for what they're doing? They aren't being punished for what they are doing but we are. Why is that? The congress does that because they know they can, that's all. They need to look like their doing something about the drug problems so they hurt us because they know they can!!!

Hi. I hate to be cynical but the government's opioid market must need more people. They know they are driving people to other alternatives for relief of pain! I do wish the government would stay out of personal things. I don't want to be told by the government what i can do with or what to my own body.

D8g, they obviously are not listening to any of us. I was lied to by someone on the task force. I am not happy about it at all and I sent her a very direct email yesterday, let's just say it wasn't a very nice one. This pain is turning me into a completely different person. I am miserable and to put it bluntly, a real *****. We all have our stories but it seems hopeless. I don't know what any of us can do, it seems no one is listening.

@disgusted.....i couldnt agree with u more. Im sick over the whole thing. My quality of life is a joke. I have been on pain mangt meds for 10+ years for spinal stenosis, fibromyalgia and a few other issues. My doc sgut is practice and im left in cold to suffer. It was suggested I try suboxone treatment for the chronic pain and was delighted to find it really worked at a minimal dose. After 8 months the sub dr tells me i cant stay on it forever hr dropped the dose so low that i can barely function , treats me like i am a addict whuch is not the case. I am so disgusted and baffled on what to do. How dare the government or anyone else judge MY pain. I am not thr same happy outgoing active mother wife friend i once was. The pain is not only debilitating but has put me in such a depression....i have been calling dr offices every day hoping to find a dr willing to at least listen to my story..
I hope & pray everyone in this situation are able to find the help they need.
God Bless us all

Ive worked on my feet for 30 years. I have severe back and leg and neck and shoulder pain. I hurt all over. We get old and our bodies are not what they used to be. Most docs I know, treat me like I'm still young. I'm not......I'm a grandmother. I have had injections in my spine, etc. NOTHING works. I have a bed......But, I haven't slept on it for years. I sleep on the floor.......For my Broke BACK! I'm so tired of being in pain and I have to work full time. Please help with any referrals.
