Just to clarify. I'm not sure if you were addressing my remarks, but when I used Gay Marriage as an example, it in no sense was intended to be dismissive or disparaging. I simply meant to convey that if a group like homosexuals which, when I was young, was very much discriminated against (and even subject to imprisonment) can move "the powers that be" in the way they have, then people suffering discrimination because they are in pain (or, rather, because of laws that are more concerned with criminals than patients), surely can and should unite to fight this. In short, I was taking inspiration from that movement, not treating it cavalierly.

Years ago an I have gone to every Dr an done all that I can do an nothing has helped but the meds as sad as that is. I just wish I had a trusted. Friend who would lend me a few but what can you.do lol

I would like to know that too. How do all these kids have just about every kind of pain meds and other pills. They must take them from peoples medicine cabinets. I too suffer from back pain to the point that after I make my bed, I have to lay in it. And no, I'm not kidding.

I couldn't agree with you more about needing a "march on Washington" but please don't cite homosexuals. Most of us work with or have loved ones who are gay and, if they are a good person, they are no less wonderful than any other good human being.
Our medical system is SO broken! Pay $300 to a 'pill mill' when you're on Medicare and have more medical records than pages of War and Peace. So what if we're dependent at 60 or 70? I'm grateful if I can make my bed or clean the kitchen. How do all of these youngsters get pills for recreation or to sell?

tramadol in larger doses can cause heart attacks as it has a bit of antideppressant mixed in. Narcotics in general were never designed for long term use. There are other interventional ways to treat pain via injections and pain blocks that can be done by your interventional pain managment specialist. Tramadol can kill you if abused. your pain increases when you do not take the meds becuase you have been dulling your nerve endings for years with the narcotic. when you take it away from your body you feel every little thing. even combing your hair hurts. THIS WILL PASS AFTER WITHDRAWL. again stopping the meds and even working with your primary physician for rehabilitation could be beneficial. Long term narcotics are not the answer and can damage your body over time. I see it all the time....

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any doctors that are willing to prescribe pain meds in Richmond or chesterfield Virginia (Vicodin, Percocet , lortabs, morphine, Demerol ect) I've been in several car accidents and I have terrible back pain all the time and it's excrutiating. I need meds but no one will give me any pain meds, they only give naproxen--what a joke! Any help is welcomed, thanks.

My Dr. switched me from NOrco10 to oxycodone 30 quid because of the possibility of damage to liver/kidneys of long term use of tylenol in all products like Norco that contain itl I also take 160 mg of methadone daily. I have RSD.
