CO Susie,

90 percent of what I have is autoimmune disorders related to the original injury at work. I am merely doing my thing, seeking a specialist so I do not die and the brief is fighting the comp system who are a holes.

I believe no one should be an invalid. In my over 20 years of pain support I do not encourage poor me or victim syndromes.

Does anyone know of a doc in eastern mass that will prescribe percs without wondering if I'm doc shopping? My last 2 docs moved out of state and it's very hard to find another doc that will prescribe without questioning if I'm an addict or not. I have chronic back pain and need these meds and I'm about to run out. So far the docs I've called all say they do no prescribe them. Any ideas?

Hello my dear friends! Sorry I haven't been around lately. Well it's been a rough road here in NJ but those that know me know I do try to make the best of it! Crohns/fistulas are the same bloods/hemo down to 7.2 and gallbladder is just about falling out hahaha. It's my life and what can ya do? Pain meds help a little but don't cure diseases. Although I do think they can help in a medicinal way but studies would have to be done to confirm that hypothesis... Enough of me. How is everyone? If I don't speak with you before the night is over here on MC..see on you over on the other side LSG at 9PM EST... All the best my friends.. NJShore Aka Robin

Squirrel,

When anyone hits 20 the lumbar spine just from carrying your weight will "have problems." If you mean Oxycodone with Tylenol or brand name Percocet do you honestly think any physician who is legitimate will take phone calls from potential clients asking for that by brand? No they will not.

If you have ruptured discs which ones, is there nerve root compression?

If you have a documented issue (above) are you overweight? At least 80% of physicians who do pain specialty will tell any patient who is overweight to first lose weight (a certain percentage of BW and a program with a goal BEFORE even considering pain medications) and clearly in your case why are you using physicians who hit the bloody road? Are they pill millers?

When I went to college the first time around eastern Massachusetts included Boston one of the biggest cities and medical availability happening. In your case if you have a GP I'd suggest the same as I did with the other woman I posted to--that is one medication if you are not taking 20 a day (and if so seek a treatment center for your kidneys are ready to blow for sure as well) and if this is sporadic need you unlike someone with rare pain that can kill (myself) and that is Central Pain Syndrome. Call him or her ok?

They should easily be able to write your medication if you don't just do pill mills.

Squirrel, I'm not sure what you mean by being questioned about being a legit pain patient. But, you will need a copy of your medical records proving that you have a condition that can cause the pain you say you have. You will have to sign a pain contract and agree to drug panels. Drs also have very strict rules about getting pain meds from other drs. The Dr will decide what meds he wants to give you. He may or may not give you the same meds, dosage and amount your previous Dr. did. Calling and asking if a Dr prescribes a certain med is usually viewed as drug seeking behavior. You will have to make an appointment and maybe see the Dr several times before you know if he will or won't treat you like your previous Dr did.

Been there she doesn't believe in narcotic. Claims Tylenol and Ibuprofen work just as well as any prescription.

Shelby L, even though.regular drs can prescribe pain meds for chronic pain many of them.have decided not to or or they chose the patients they do prescribe to and its not all of them.

Shelby,

Then you need a new GP who does especially if you have those problems.

You might try telling your former PM of your two situations but I still guarantee you if you did not cancel in advance they likely won't take you back.

I wish you the best. I likely won't be around much longer.

Hi I have recently finished (tapered) taking 2mg suboxone films. I had been taking these since 2009 after my GP had retired. I tried to locate another dr. who would continue rx'ing me opiates, which I had been taking 2x's/day 80mg (for 6 years), extended release oxycontin. No such luck. I visited 3 doctors and all refused prescribing opiates. I had medical records/proof of the causation of my chronic intractable pain issues (MVA screws/plates in rt foot and left leg). I had been taking opiates for pain since the accident in 1998-from vicodin, Percocet, soma and finally, oxycodone. I have not had any suboxone for 7 days and I definitely feel withdraw symptoms --- my taper took me a year and I had been taking for previous 2 months, 1/16 of a strip. Approx. the width of 4 strands of hair...so thin, I used an exacto blade to cut them. I am so frustrated with having spent $$$ for suboxone over 5 years as well as disgusted with results of tapering. imo-suboxone is a racket another way to for 'certified' suboxone dispensers to line their pockets. I would have done just as well tapering my opiates w/o all the time and $$ and they provide NO pain relief what so ever---I also was recently diagnosed with hep c, genotype a and my liver isn't compromised enough to b eligible for Harvoni--sick of all this pharma regulatory BS. I seriously am considering checking out---problems gone for good.

I don't have a current GP. She moved out of state so now I'm stuck trying to find another doctor will will prescribe them for me. I don't take more than 6 to 8 10mgs percs a day. Its that everywhere I go people automatically think I'm doctor shopping. I have docs to show I have 2 herniated discs in my upper back. I am definitely not overweight at all so the pain won't go away by losing weight. It's just hard finding someone who will prescribe these days and I really hate going on the street to find them. It's way too expensive.

P450, thanks for responding. I know i need a new GP HENCE that is why I'm on here asking for help. With no insurance I cannot keep forking out $100-$150 for "New patient" fees. Since my last PM dr retired in a 2 week span due to his own health (heart surgery) and office closed I'm looking for help FINDING a dr that would take over my care that is NOT an expensive pain management dr.

Squirrel forgive me, I can die from intractable pain (Central Pain Syndrome) and over 400 connected autoimmune issues at this time. I went to the top PM in America and he released 30 out of state clients. I have not had a regular appointment in over 7 months and only due to judicious percentage saving which taught us (out of state) I am barely alive. 100% WC award for life and had to take them to court add another the local SSA who barely can get from ABC to 123 denied a claim that is riding SSDI for over 20 years, their fault. I was in there 3 hours today and am hopefully doing an expedited reinstatement.

Shelby L I am sorry also but we cannot just now have PM at all small or large. My normal medications are over $25,000 a MONTH. I am an ultra rapid opioid metabolizer. If you can afford that and get a physician ($100 or so a month) you are lucky my dear. There are Medicare recipients whose physicians demand at least that to cover what they consider underpayment.

I would also suggest for Shelby there are MANY discount FREE programs on line to reduce the cost of your medications first you need a physician.

I may not be here much longer. I've survived housebound on less than 33% of my normal medication and now that is going too low. I won against COMP in August and the AG (attorney general) decided to wack off and appeal to hold me up longer even though they know I will win. I always do and for good cause.

To have to do pro se (represent yourself on both) is horrific but when you have medical history like me to get a top WC attorney for the state I was injured in a retainer of $50,000 to review 20 years of medical minimum and why hire if I win and they still wack off at the Judge. I do know God will take them down if my winning does not. My "other" is in Australia he is American and I am getting ready for him to get me on the news before I do die (will help the rest of you when one of us die needlessly and I will go down with all of you in mind), and call OIG to invade this local SSA and take them down so low they get it right.

Today they thought I would file a new ALJ because they mistakenly forced me to sign one on 9/4/2015 and no reconsideration denial had been done; I asked for conference (long story) but the manager was praying I came in to do that. Then because the Philly hub normally holds my claim (am not originally from Texas but east coast) they used that as an excuse and I said "Lady get this straight I sent copies to them and YOU and I want the to hold my claim not this hell hole."

She did not think I'd ask for EXR but did so and kept my proof.

I want the best for both of you and Squirrel you are on enough Percocet to be dope sick did you at least go down slowly and have enough now to at least get by? You cannot call due to the FDA ruling and say on the phone "I want a doc who can do my Percocet." They will flag you and say we do not write that. Further unless you have nerve root compression everyone and their Grandma has bulging discs. Further most of the MONEY QUACKS want to inj. you with steroids and then write you a few pills. They make big dinero and you suffer--do not get these inj's. or blocks. Tell any physician "can you put into writing that I will not be further damaged or have increased pain from this procedure." They cannot and will not. But hey who wants their opioids from a MONEY QUACK?

Sic,

My famous PM and I as a professional and pain group originator and supporter I've personally pro bono referred over 10,000 suicide level pain patients in my injury years will tell you once you hit addiction drugs and or a prescriber NO decent PM specialist will ever touch you.

If you don't have a record of this provider then X it off your history and utilize only PM history and any records. Get a GP to do recent diagnostics for you and hope against hope for I cannot right now get help and my case is life threatening at all times due to any interruption in medication and further I've progressed to Central Pain Syndrome where the brain has been damaged due to years of POORLY CONTROLLED PAIN.

Good luck.

Squirrel, you.probably won't find another pain GP that will give you that. You probably won't find a pain management Dr, which is what you need that will give you that many immediate release meds. If you need pain management around the clock you need to be in extended release meds. The push has been to reduce the number of immediate release meds prescribed, among.other things. Anyone taking that many immediate release meds will be viewed as suspicious. Long acting meds manage the pain much better with way less pills.

Robin,

Without a doctor I'll not make it this go round sorry to say.

Too much right now spent 3 hours at SSA pointing out the errors and they want to keep me at that office--the federal government does not force you to one office.

I made her to XRE and that should work. She wanted me to file another ALJ I said "No you people did a recon when I filed for conference THEN you did not have a denial when that was done and 4 weeks later send a denial on a recon you have just there made 3 errors and stopped checks." 3 hours with the supervisor doing expedited.

I finished my legal brief for the appeal the attorney general is appealing just to hold up hoping I have no medications when it was my win on August 19, 2015. I thought fine I held on till then figured another week and a physician now they have till the 20th of October so do I to insert the brief and a few weeks after. I cannot hold up.

I am allergic to generics and pulled out the s*** load that I have packed away all expired. Anyhow the Mallinkroft were just a year expired and not carted around in fact when I still used IWP to fill my drugs in Massachusetts they were shipped from there. I've been on 75's which is insane when it used to be 8 a day allowed 4 of the 100's and 4 of the 75's to ONLY the lower down to 2. I lived through it but fear going lower. On the third day when I cut back 75 mcg/hour and I know that is far too much to cut I suffered renal failure and I am in some bof*** rural area with butt wipe hospitals. I mean Baylor is about 110 miles but try driving that when you are pissing blood and in withdrawal and your normal pain levels are getting ready to cause a code.

I'm worried about your Hgb levels have they transfused you? You cannot keep losing that much blood my dear you know it so do I. If they are not keeping you above 10 something needs to be done.

Do you know any GI specialists up at Newark Beth Israel? I know it's rough turf but you know it's one of the best hospitals. Also you've got St. Peter's in New Brunswick.

Much love,
P450

I was in a very bad car accident four years ago. I fractured my c1 had spinous process fracture c7, t1, t2. Wedge compression fracture t3, t4 and burst fracture t5 a facet fracture t6 and lung punctures from fracturing my ribs. I have come a long way, but am in pain a good bit. My doctor is not great with the idea of taking 5mg of Oxycodone broken into two doses a day. I live in VA and would like to find someone who is on board with me. I am very active, considering my condition. That is the only reason I would like to stay on this medication.

Ennis,

You are kidding me right? With my health care background any physician who denies you one Percocet a day which is what you are inferring should be walked off the plank with one kidney stone stuck in each ureter.

Virginia is pretty tight for multiple reasons but is that all you require?
