Doctors In Ky

Im from mi recently moved to corbin ky. I have chronic pain due to nerve damage. My leg and foot goes numb for sometimes weeks at a time. My back often goes out on me and i cant move and my broken tailbone makes it hard for me to sit comfortably. Ive had mri and xrays ive been on 3 norco 10s for eight years so my tolerance to pain meds are high. I havent had my meds in over a month and i spend a lot of my time in bed in chronic pain and very depressed because i cant do things i want with my three children. Does anyone know of a good doctor that will help me with my pain management in corbin,london or surrounding area that will gimme medication that will work? I recently went to what i thought was a doctor. Ended up being a nurse practitioner that can not ptescribe controls, didnt even look at me and wrote me tramadol. Ive tried almost all non control pain medication before they put me on vicodin then after years to norco. Nothing works for me. Please help me. Thx

Taking 3 10 mg Norco a day for 8 yrs doesn't mean you have a high tolerance.

Hello, Sammy! How are you? I am very sorry that you're in pain.

Vicodin and Norco are the same medication, they both contain the narcotic Hydrocodone coupled with Acetaminophen. *This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

In order to be prescribed any potent narcotics, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. A regular PCP will no longer be able to prescribe them for you.

Have you actually tried the Tramadol?

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

yes I do have a high tolerance to pain medication unfortunately. I do have a prescription for tramadol and ibuprofen 800 but when my pain is unbearable they do not work for me at all. I have been in the er three times the last few weeks and they have prescribed me norcos. I have an apt with a doctor next week so we will c what they say. if anyone knows someone they can recommend please let me know. thank u
