Doctors In New Mexico

Looking for a doctor that will prescribe pain meds will my other meds I need lortab or norco. With my hight blood pressure and other med anyone?

Hello, James! How are you?

I'm sorry, but due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist for such medications, if you require them on a long-term ongoing basis.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Do you currently have a PCP that's treating your high blood pressure? If so, having them refer you to a specialist might be the easiest way to find the help you need.

Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area?

There no new regulations or laws that state you must see a pain management dr to be treated for chronic pain. PCP's aren't treating chronic pain like they use to and they are referring most patients to pain management dr. But, not all PCP's are doing this. It is up to each individual dr to decide which patients, if any, they want to treat for chronic pain. They cannot have over a certain percentage of their patients treated for chronic pain and not be a Pain Clinic. But, that does not mean that a PCP cannot treat chronic pain. There is a difference is a dr not being able to do something because of regulations and laws and a dr choosing to not do it.

If you are a new patient, it will more than likely be more difficult to find a PCP who will treat your pain than it would be if you had been with the dr for a long time.

Thankyou for your response I found a good doc in new Mexico so far did his interim in Louisiana for six years at LUS med school . I learn to do research the doc back ground. Al there was one in el Paso that wrote pain meds to get all of el pase PEOPLE anything they whated. Well that lased ten years. . Now I travel I need to drip down to norco because lortab is not in thhe usa. I not sure on that but that seems to be what I run across in the south. Also the geriatric Percocet . U have to make sure that its a good brand . Cause mine were sime werid kinda . Olami? Wastson only way .other than brand witch you have to oder. Now they have endocet . Percocet. ... nhum what happened to good old percodan?

thaaaank you for your respone, i have found several dotors here that will help you, also medical marjane is legal here, amercan medical group is a good place to go here in hobbs new mexico, dr hudson, its hard living in rule area, just cant run to the hosptail to get a shot, it takes an hour to get there,well thanks for you help , working on getting hep c treatment, now, and pills r 900 each, o mg,,
