UpdatedI was just diagnosed with folliculitis by my family doctor an he put me on keflex and my dermatologist has me putting flouocinolone acetonide on it. Is this normal?

From what I could gather, folliculitis is reported to be a common type of skin condition (usually caused by a bacterial or fungal infection) in which the hair follicles can become inflamed. So it makes sense to me why you were prescribed an antibiotic such as Keflex (cephalexin) for the infection as well as Fluocinolone acetonide, which is a topical corticosteroid mainly used for reducing skin inflammation and itching. This combination of meds would essentially be attacking the folliculitis from both angles, and in my opinion, seems like an appropriate course of action.
