Disket Tablets

I've been taking Methadone Disket 40mg 4 times a day for neuropathy with great sucess but because the company has decided to supply it only for detox purposes I am forced to take 10mg tablets instead and I don't seem to be getting the same amount of relief, Has anyone else had this problem or any thought on this matter. Thank you

I too can tell a big difference , the difference is that the discus (40 mg ) disolve in water so when you take the WAFFER / 40 MG it disolves a lot faster for quicker relief . the 10 mg. do not disolve as quick therefore the 10's take longer to disolve in your stomach & get into your body to work . i think the reason the waffer was taken off the drug stores is that it can be disolved in water completely & a user can shoot it up , the 10's were left for us who must have methadone for what ever reason because it will not disolve enough to use in a needle to shoot up with . it's sad that we all have to suffer because a few don't use their meds as suppose to .

Please speak to your doctor, they should be able to help you adjust your dosage to get better pain relief.

If you were taking 40mgs, no matter what type of release it was, or what it dissolves in, and you suddenly drop from that down to 10mgs, you are not going to get the same pain relief.

And yes, the wafers are an instant release form and the regular tablets take 15 to 20 minutes to release and start working.

Your doctor should also be able to prescribe you something for breakthrough pain, some other instant release medications, such as OxyIR or MSIR (oxycodone instant release and morphine instant release, respectively) that will help ease your pain until the Methadone kicks in.
