I, too, have a rare, complex chronic functional stomach condition. I was curious to know if you have found any new combination of things to help? I have built up a tolerance to almost everything.

Can I take 50mg Tramadol WITH 4mg Dilaudid? Actually, I need it as an additional medication to "fill in the blank". My doc is only allowing me to take the Dilaudid 3x/day and I have spinal stenosis, scoliosis, spinal arthritis AND am a Melanoma survivor with a left leg that thumps due to lymph node removal. I took 2mg Dilaudid for 2 years and coming off of it was insignificant. Now with all of these back problems, 4mg Dilaudid 3x/day is NOT enough and I need to know if I can supplement with 50 mg or extended release Tramadol. I need to know asap. I'm so p*ssed that I'm ready to dump this doctor, it's a roller coaster ride. Then again if I take Tramadol as a "filler" between Dilaudid doses, what is the worst that can happen? Better hurry to respond. I think I'm going to try it tonight. MY EFFIN BACK HURTS and I'm SUPPOSED to be working (lucky me, it's Friday and the boss has left the building). HELP! We all know that unless you're about to die, no doctor is going to help on a weekend. I go back to the doc next Friday and I'm afraid I'm going to tell her to cram it. I feel that anyone who has not suffered through nerve pain, doctor or not, has NO idea how it feels and moreso, how good it feels to have it disappear. So Tramadol between Dilaudid doses or no???? HELP!!!!

Are you taking these things for recreational use, only? For if you are, it is people like you who are causing the oppression of the DEA, making them think that real chronic pain patients, are drug addicts! We are losing our doctors, our medications, after everything else, doesn't work, because the DEA has decided we are drug abusers, like you, doing it only for "Highs!" But, we don't get "Highs," from our medications, we don't insufflate it, we don't smoke it, we follow our prescriptions to the letter. We need our medications to just be able to brush our teeth, let alone take care of our loved ones, and other disabled ones. Yet, people who insufflate, smoke, or just take these drugs for their own personal pleasure, are now causing us to lose our doctors, our medications and our pharmacies. Please, if you don't need it, don't do it, stop hurting those who are in real pain! Above all, don't advertise, (brag), about what you do, on the Internet, please be kind and stop! Also, if your cousin passed away from these horrible cancers, don't you think you would get a clue and stop taking these drugs? I had a fiance, who smoked marijuana, all the time, every waking minute of the day. He didn't need it, he just wanted it. Guess what, he died of lung cancer. Just because it felt good, to smoke it. I'm not against, legal, medical marijuana, for I know, through my own, intense, non-curable pain, that it helps some people, (not me), so please don't get me wrong. But, if you don't need it, to live a normal life, without intense pain, stop doing it. There is more to life than abusing drugs, which I think you are doing.

I didn't even read your message. HELL NO I'm not taking them for recreation. I can barely walk with nerve pain. Have you ever dealt with it for MONTHS? If not, then SHUT UP.

I wasn't referring to your post. Please don't be angry, for I have several illnesses, myself, including scoliosis, which is now affecting the lower half of my body. I can't sit, stand, walk or sleep without it causing pain. My other illnesses are Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, (Lupus, RA, Scleroderma, which is the hardening of my organ walls and skin, and other associated illnesses), plus Crest Syndrome. So, I do know what pain is about. I didn't mention your name, in my post, I was referring to those who write about how they abuse it, for pleasure. These are the fools that are making it hard for chronic pain patients to get and keep our good doctors and our medications, that don't give us "Highs" but relieve our pain. I'm sorry if you took, my post personally, I wasn't addressing you.

I am writing to the President, on behalf of all of us, chronic pain patients, to stop the DEA/FDA and certain politicians, from including us in their "War on Drugs!" I have copied and pasted some of the posts, on this site and other sites, of people who are in dire need for their medications and those who are losing their doctors and medications, as well. It's called "My Front Porch" where the President is asking us to write him and tell him what our lives are like. Please write to him, tell him your story, that you aren't drug addicts, aren't trying to feel high on the medications that are carefully being prescribed to you, but now taken away. Be specific on your suffering, also tell him how there are 100 million of us, Chronic Pain patients, some are considering suicide, just to get relief from our suffering.

If you don't want to write to him, directly, (don't worry, you won't be in trouble, if you do, for I've already written him, several times), I started two petitions, for chronic pain patients to sign. When I get, at least 10,000 of chronic pain sufferer's signatures, I will send it on to the President, the DEA, the FDA, and the politicians who all think we are drug junkies. Please, go to this site, sign my petition, which is designed to help us all, get what we need, to live a more humane life. After all, animals are being treated more humanely than we are. If you send these posts to the President (which is just ridiculous) I would think the DEA would be knocking on your door... assuming he would even read the message of a drug addict, let alone agree that you should continue to abuse drugs.... I would also just bet MOST of you are just addicts and do NOT need that strength of narcotic pain medication! Seriously? All the people in their early 20s with such horrific pain....I doubt it. Get help for crying out loud and make your life count.

Yes l have the same problem. I was crushed between a tractor and an implement in July 2014. I have several disc screwed together in my back. Also broke all my ribs on one side and 3 on the other. I have tried bout all the pain meds too-but nothing seems to help. I'm taking 60 mg of morphine 2x a day and hydrocodone when needed.the last few nights been trying a 4gm of dilauldid that I had left over from before instead of the 2nd morphine pill. Been sleeping pretty good it must be working. I don't want to use to much pain Med but doesn't seem like l can stop the pain.
