Diabetic Hydrocodone

I have diabetic neuropathy and uncontrolled sugar levels. I have been on norco for about four years and now my doctor said she has cut my prescription in half and sometimes won't refill it at all because she said it is dangerous if your sugars are out of control. Is this true and why has it never been mentioned before?

Some of its typical side effects may mask the symptoms of low blood sugar. For example, the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness and drowsiness… which could also be symptoms of hypoglycemia.

Thus, if someone thinks their only experiencing them due to the opiate and doesn't check their blood sugar levels, they could drop low and may end up in a coma.

What do you take for your diabetes? What kind of diet are you on for it?
