My wife has a prescription of Darvecet and has been taking two pills every eight hours and the bottle says take one every four hours. I tried to tell her that it doesn't work that way but I am not sure. Maybe one every two hours? Help!

That is correct, taking them in that manner doesn't work and one should never adjust the dosing schedule, without their doctor's approval.

As to Darvocet, to add some updated information on that to this post, it has now been removed from the market in the U.S., Canada and most other countries, due to the fact that it was found to cause severe risks of cardiac dangers, as well as an inordinate number of overdose fatalities.

These issues were associated with the Propoxyphene in it, so it and its relatives have all been removed from the market.
