Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic, used to treat a variety of infections.

Some of the most common side effects include: drowsiness, nausea, diarrhea and sun sensitivity.

Sheri, I'd recommend reading the drug interactions at:

If you are really concerned about any other medications you are taking then I would recommend double checking with your doctor. Hope this helps!

I have been on Cipro for 11 days and my knuckles and fingers seem swollen...I am also experiencing clear vaginal discharge which causes itching and irritation. Are these normal side effects? I only have to take one more day of the Cipro.

Elizabeth, I would check with your prescribing doctor regarding the swollen fingers/knuckles since you've been on Cipro. The FDA has issued a black box warning for fluoroquinolones (which cipro belongs to) which can cause tendonitis, joint problems, etc. I experienced tendonitis myself. Good luck.

They discharge and itching and irritation sounds to me like a yeast infection caused by taking antibiotics. Eating yogurt a lot of times will help When starting any antibiotic. But to be certain you should talk to your doctor
