Cipro Question

I was prescribed cipro for a 3rd time friday for recurring uti (over 2 yr period) first 2 times ok, but had flare up of tendenitis. This time, however, after 4 days of 500mg twice daily, I hv developed leg tremors, night sweats, severe anxiety, wake up faithfully after only 3 hrs sleep, upper right abdominal pain, nausea to the point of not eating, and almost constant pain in back on right side. Feel so bad I scheduled ultrasound w/ a friend of mine tomorrow to make sure nothing more serious is going on. I am so worried its my liver or pancreas...I am constantly cking my eyes for jaundice. I hv always worried some but now out of control! Driving everyone nuts I am sure. I also hv ringing in my ears & slight headaches on top of my head. Was wondering if anyone else had the right abdominal pain & bkache. With all my worry, I would appreciate knowing if anyone else has it. Stopped taking cipro last night thank goodness. Otherwise I am a healthy 40 yr old. :)

Hello, Karen! How are you feeling?

With those symptoms, you may have developed a kidney infection. When do you see your doctor, again?

You might need a stronger antibiotic for a longer period of time.

My uti results came back neg culture for bacteria, so my doctor told me to stop cipro...after 24 hrs stopping med, to the minute, almost all back & abdominal pain & nausea gone. Appetite back, but now pain in shoulder & arm & calves are tight. Hope no tendon problems from this drug. It is awful..should be labeled poison!
