Cincinnati Pain Clinic

Hi, all,

I just moved to Covington, KY from. Brooklyn, NY.

I am taking Nucynta ER 150 mg/3 x a day, lyrica, celexa, Xanax 2 mg/3 x a day and a muscle relaxant.

The main issues are the Nucynta and Xanax. I have had doctor after doctor laugh in my face when asking for this prescription. I started Xanax five years ago and Nucynta about a year ago. No one wants to prescribe Nucynta, either. I have tried Vicodin, oxy--everything. But finally found that Nucynta (a drug I paid $1500 for WITH insurance in NY) works for me. (I am a full time children's book author who spends 12 hours a day on the computer.)

I am not an addict and will willingly comply to all drug panels. Can anyone recommend a psychiatrist in or near Cincinnati as well as a pain management doctor or clinic?

Hello! I am very sorry about the problems that you're having.

If your current address and ID/license are registered in Kentucky, then that is where you'll need to see a doctor and get your prescriptions filled. Most pharmacies have restrictions requiring all patients and doctors be within a certain radius of their location and to be in-state. Some exceptions can be made, but this generally applies to all controlled substance in order to enable them to keep better track of prescriptions and their validity.

And most doctors are going to react badly, if you go in and ask for specific medications. They are taught to that as being drug seeking behavior. The best thing to do is see a new doctor, make sure they receive a full copy of your current medical records and then let those records speak for you. When they can see what has and hasn't worked for you in the past, as documented by fellow physicians, they will be more prone to prescribe accordingly.

Getting in with a new PCP and then having them refer you to specialists might be the easiest and quickest way to find the help you need.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, dry mouth and constipation.

My goodness that is a lot.

I assume you have exhausted the months available to you under the Nucynta savings program? The coupon covers the cost of the drug where you should only be paying $25 per month. This most likely only covers 60 CT per month, however.

I would try and get a ny license to prove your a resident that will help. There are some fantastic pain management centers on long island but they are some times strict. It's not a big deal; UA every two months. Search pain management Brookville ny and I'm sure you will find a reputable doctor to help you. Dr A has been very professional with me.

kentucky to ohio doesn't matter, at least for me & most people, i live in cincy & have seen dr in hebron, ky before... now seeing Dr.A., also.. and getting nucynta, it barely works ok but not good... and nothing else... still in a 7-8 pain level day! with terrible muscle spasms, Bad Anxiety -GAD, PTSD, etc..

my PCP retired & was prescribing everything for me... now i have several doc's and no one will give me back my anti-anxiety and muscle relaxer; alprazolam (xanax) and diazepam (valium), which I've been on for 10-15+ years... Does anyone have any ideas or d0c's in the Greater Cinti area? thanks sooo sooooo much this year (+) has been MISERY.. BP's in 160-170's and too many health probs to list :( thanks again..

Hi. So I used to see a neurologist Dr Pagni for fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, carpal tunnel and a few other pain issues. I was given a drug panel at a time when many new nurses had come on board and was found to have illicit drugs in my system. Well, long story short, cuz of their f*** up I was kicked out and have since spent years on liquid Methadone which was killing me. So I quit cold turkey. However, I'm hurting so bad and with the streets teeming with poison I'm so afraid I'll find myself in the wrong place at the wrong time and get caught up taking something I don't want to. I desperately just need my meds back. I was on tramadol 240 50 mg pills + 120 percocet tens + 130 klonopins + 90 100 mg lyrica. If I had a third of it back I could survive. Please, someone help me find a doctor who prescribed pain meds in or around Cincinnati, Ohio. Oh btw, I have no medical insurance and would be a cash patient or preferably a care credit payment.
