Cheaper Version Of Suboxone

Updated

My insurance is no longer covering my suboxone or Zubsolv. I started taking it to get off of all opiates and narcotics, but it helps with chronic back pain from a botched back surgery. I can't afford the hundred dollar prices. Does anyone know of something similar that doesn't cost so much? I only have til July 1st to find something. Please help, thank you.

Hi Elizabeth! I know they make a generic form of the suboxone pill form. That would b the cheapest. They haven't come out with generic films yet. Also, u can try talking 2 your Dr about any discount programs. Sometimes, they even have discount coupons. 2 help out. They have them here in RI. R u eligible 4 any kind of health insurance? Or do u already have insurance?

Hi, Tell your dr. about you financial/insurance problem and ask him if he would prescribe subutex, it,s much cheaper than the films. And like Cats said, get the discount card from your dr. or on the suboxone website. The one I use saves 50 dollars each fill.

What's the normal price without a coupon? Thanks to everyone who's replied.

I was only prescribed subutex once because I was waiting to get insurance and it was quite awhile ago so I don't remember exactly. It was about one third the price of the films. The only reason dr. prescribed them that time was because he knew I was paying for whole script out of pocket. As soon as insurance kicked in the next script was for films. Sorry I couldn't have been more helpful.

Ask your Dr about patient assistance from the manufacturer. They will give u up to 90 tablets (maybe films / I got tabs 8 mg) for free for 1 year. Every Dr is allowed a max # of patients to get assistance. I got 90 a month for free for 1 year so I know its fact. Good luck. Mine are now covered by medicaid. They discontinued coverage after 1 year and I got no warning. I just went to the pharmacy and instead of them telling me no charge they said $872.00. My Dr was supposed to submit a U/A which is required by medicaid after 1 yr. As is mandatory verified counseling. But i called a new Dr. and was lucky to get in in 6 days. They said they needed to get me a prior auth which i figured would be denied because I hadn't had a U/A submitted to medicaid. They said i'd know within 3 days. 15 min. after leaving they called and said im approved and filled me a script 30 min later for free. Good luck.
