Can Subutex Be A Small White Round Pill With 8 On One Side And An Arrow On The Other (Page 4)

Updated

My friend takes 8mg subutex and when he picked up his script today, they weren't the usual white tablet. They were white and the size of a 2mg subutex with an 8 on one side and an arrow on the other. Could his pharmacist have made a big mistake or are these just a different brand??

"wheen as told how"

Yeah. Except breaking the bigger pills into as small as 1mg segments is so easy that a monkey could do it, whereas even breaking these into quarters without getting one pieces that are like 30, 20, 35, 15% of the pill is hard.

These pills have thrown me a huge curveball. I tend to have to be up for 18- up to even 22 hours a day between working and watching my kids so i tend to break my dose into 2 or even 3 pieces. I've currently weened down to about 3mg a day, how is anyone supposed to reliably break these into 1mg sections? And it's not like 1mg is where you're supposed to stop weening, you're supposed to get down to a quarter of a milligram. With this pill the difference between a quarter and a half a milligram is going to be like 10 granules.

What exactly is the purpose of these pills being so small? Looking them up all i've read about is that they're harder to use properly and they're easier to abuse.

Who is the company trying to serve by making an 8mg pill this small when the vast majority of sub regimens will involve people taking 1/32nd of 8 milligrams- sometimes even 1/64th!

I literally can't think of another way to break this up into actual measured doses without crushing the whole thing into powder and then cutting up lines of it. You know.. EXACTLY the kind of behavior that subutex's long half-life and sublingual delivery method is designed to help you avoid!

The binders in the bigger pills stink, for certain, but all that extra material is what made these in depth .0125 mg tapers possible. I broke a sub down to an 1/8th of a milligram once to see how easy it was and that piece was about the same size as 1 milligram of this. Guess what? It's not easy. At all.

So now people will be trying to do 2mg and doing closer to 3. Or try to do 4 and do 3 or 5.

Again. Who does this serve? Who thought this up? This is literally one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. If you could go back to the pharmacy and just buy more? THEN it would make sense because then the company would clearly be trying to make you mismanage your product and subsequently buy more.

But as a scheduled substance? It's dicey. Every pharmacy in Richmond carries these now. No doctors are taking new patients. It's almost like they're trying to "identify abusers" by seeing who has a problem with them.

Here's a thought- the people who DON'T have a problem with them are more likely to be either abusers or involved with drug pushing doctors, as DRs are supposed to start working people off these eventually and be acquainted with the tapering process.

Ugh. What a mess. I pray that every other sub patient in this area is getting up and arms about this and it will make the pharmacies go back to the old stock. We'll pay a little more to be able to actually freaking measure our medicine out right!

"sagged out"?

Subutex isn't hard to abuse. Nothing about the bigger pills makes them hard to abuse in any way shape or form. I know a guy who injects 16mg throughout the day, 2mg at a time. Every day. And has for 5 years or so, no ill effects as far as I know.

No if anything the big ones are just the responsible ones carried by pharmacies that actually use their brains for 5 seconds when they see that they're filling scripts for a 30 day supply that's 30 pills one month, then 24, then 20, then 18, down to 5.

If Doctors are doing their job, the vast majority of sub maintenance patients are going to follow that kind of path.

Obviously some will remain on it long term if it's an effective pain reliever for them, or if they're in a high-risk situation where the sub just allows them to live a life and their doctor is compassionate, or i believe it can be given off-label for depression...

But as far as I can tell, the majority of Doctors will- once you have paid your way past the criminally exclusive barriers they put in your way (basically, you have to quit drugs in order to get on subs i guess, because what % of people with a habit and a burning desire to quit actually have $1000 lying around to cover the pills and first visit? 2%? 1%?) - once you've paid your way into the system, they seem to be willing to pump you with 24mg a day into perpetuity. Which is crazy since 24 MGs is more than a body can even process in 48 hours- much less 24. But they're willing to give you that much for years on end and then pretend as if the person taking them isn't selling them on the black market. Once you're in, you're golden apparently. At least until the heat comes down on the Doctor for being a glorified drug dealer and he starts throwing his patients under the bus left and right.

They need to fix the system. Whether it involves something more like an upscale methadone clinic or just lowers the limit to 60mg/month and also allows DRs to take on more patients- anything really. Anything besides creating this system where there's a scarcity as far as only a tiny minority of people who want to get on them are able to- either because they can't afford it or the DRs in the area are all at their limit- but despite THAT scarcity, the people who ARE patients have a surplus that they'd have no reason to ever use.

It's like they're trying to create drug dealers. I wonder if there is any literature out there about how drug companies and the FDA profit from creating addicts? I wonder if it's like how creating prisoners is a big business? They can't be tied in together, golly gee!

I personally think subs of any form is just another way for big pharm companies to keep us addicted to something. Think about how much money they would lose if you quit your pain killers, and didn't get put on subs , and we all know how expensive they are. They make us feel like we are doing something good, but all we're doing is trading addictions. Have you ever tried to stop taking your subs? Way worse than when tried to stop taking oxy. They dont want us to get better, they just want our money and to make us feel like we are. Subs are just another way for them to keep a hand in our cookie jar. Now you tell me who the criminals are......I've been on subs for 5 years by the way, so I'm not blowing smoke up your ass, I know the feeling all too well and wish that they would come up with something to actually help us, not keep us addicted. Keep your heads up everybody, stay on track., stay strong and we will all make it.

It has became a problem in my town. People are completely abusing this drug. They pay 35 dollars for it and insufflate it, even the strip. I find it to be sickening that it is such a problem.

For the last 3 weeks my chemist has given me Prefibin instead of Suboxone and I honestly prefer the Prefibin, they melt quicker when I insufflate them and the liquid is more watery than the Suboxone, within 10 mins of taking it it's gone completely whereas the Suboxone would take 15/20 mins to sink in (might be all in my head or because they sink in quicker but I seem to get more from them too) I also quite like the slight alcohol/chemical taste the Prefibin has! I hope he keeps getting them all the time from now on

I detoxed from taking Oxy's and Roxicodone for about 4 years due to back problems and used Suboxone. The first time I took it I was sick for the first couple hours( didnt wait long enough), but I was only on them for 8 days. 8 mg the 1 st day, then 6 for 2 days, 4 for 2 days, 2 mg for 2 days, skip 24 hours then take 1 mg and I was done. This is the same provess some in-patient facilities use. I had literally no dope sickness afterwards, just a sour un settling in my stomach, a little insomnia, and other than that I was fine. The mental part is the worst for me, knowing that I can have my meds back with one phone call. I made the decision to quit, against my doctors wishes, and decided to start exercising to help my back in order to take control of my life again. It sux major ass( I work a very physical job) but if I can do it then anyone can. Try to use the subutex or suboxone as briefly as possible in order to keep from swapping addictions.

Those are 8mg Subutecs... Just like all the genetic Suboxone that came out after the original medication's contract wa up, they aren't as good as the original, since they aren't the same formula. Some companies got close, but others far off the mark. Unfortunately, that's what happens. Dane thing now with Adderral... There are plenty of genetics out there, but the original company will not make it anymore, because if the cheaper versions, which is why they made Vyvanse abd switched everyone to it, to keep the millions rolling in!

I HAVE BEEN ON SUBS FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS. I MIGHT BE IN THE 5% WHERE I CAN STILL FUNCTION AS A NORMAL HUMAN BEING SOCIALY(HAVING ALCHOLIC BEVERAGES WHEN IM OUT ETC) WHAT I DID IS GO BACK TO ME..BEFORE THE OXY ABUSE. SOME PEOPLE THINK OR NEED TO BE TOTALY SOBER TO STAY OXY SOBER..BUT I AM ONE THAT WILL ARGUE THAT. I BEAT IT MENTALLY...BUTTTT MY BODY STILL REQUIRES ONE/EIGHTH A DAY OF SUBOXIN...IM ALMOST THERE. I WONDER IF THIS NEW SUBUTEX WILL HELP...? BUT BACK TO MY POINT LOL..THERE SMALLER BECAUSE THERE IS NO NALOXONE IN IT (OPIAT BLOCKER) PEOPLE CAN STILL USE PAINKILLER WHILE ON SUBUTEX BUT NOT WHEN ON SUBOXIN. THE THOUGHT OF MY OLD LIFE MAKES ME VOMIT,AND MY NEW LIFE IS GREAT. SO I THINK THATS WHY I AM THE WAY I AM...NOT EVERYBODY CAN DO IT MY WAY..MOST CAN'T..I ALSO SMOKE BUD. HAVE BEEN FOR 20 YEARS. HELPS WITH MY ANXIETY AND IT GROWS FROM GOD'S GARDEN

Think about it the only difference is size bro 8mg is 8mg some pills have more filler than others dope fiends would probably prefer the 8<--- subutex becuze they are smaller and more concentrated thus making them more effective when insufflating
