If it's prescribed from your physician then it's perfectly fine to take it. It's not going to hurt you at all. You're just going to get a little sleepy and very relaxed. I hope I helped you

I didn't think benzos and opiates were to be taken together, can cause heart to stop. I was on Valium and Percocet and was told by pain management Dr, I had to be weened of Valium because of the deaths to the two combined, thank God I have a Christian Dr that I trust. My opinion Dr knows best if they have your treatment pain number one, do I will stand and do what I have to do. I may user Flexeril with my Percocet though. This is just my .2¢ worth. Good bless and so be safe mixing prescription and not prescription medication. Be safe everyone

I take them together all the time and have so for years with no adverse effects. If you are just starting out on these medications you may want to take them at bedtime because when I first started taking this combo it made me pretty sleepy.

Im so sorry to hear about all of your problems i was a wrecker operator and was hit in by a semi going 80mph i was sitting still and have had 6 surgeries on my lower back and my reason for me telling y'all this is simple i am only 35yo and it has ruined my life in more ways than many can imagine can no longer play with my 2 beautiful young daughters it cost me a divorce after 11 years of marriage and this accident was only 5 years ago the bad part is that i became addicted to pain meds not only to deal with the physical pain but also the mental pain now whether y'all decide to listen to what i am saying or not is totally up to u but only stay on the meds for as little time as possible and i know exactly what u mean because i sometimes wish i hadn't survived also (no not suisidle) keep ur head up i hear it gets better (idk we will see)

I have been taking percocet and muscle relaxers for 2 years now due to neck, back, knee injuries and severe pain throughout each day.. I Have had them changed a few times on the muscle relaxers due to one reason or another.but i am currently taking tizanadine .. As prescribed by my doctor.. And when i picked it up at my pharmacy the pharmacist told me because i was also on a pain med to make sure that you have at least 2 hours between them.because of the fact that it can cause respiratory depression.. So my take on this is that if you have any questions about the medications you are on ask your doctor.. That's what he is there for.. If you have any concerns ask your doctor.. Plain and simple.. Don't go mixing pills unless your doctor has prescribed them to take together, and if you have any issues or questions by doing so speak to your doctor..

I'd be reluctant to prescribe both together — no, make that I never have and never will write for both of these meds for the same patient! Flexeril is related to the tricyclic antidepressants (Elavil, Tofranil) and they cause their share of dizziness and lack of coordination.... and Percocet is Oxycodone and APAP. What kind of pain do you have that Percocet alone can't quell (in the proper dose)? No need for piling one drug atop the other. If this is an "easy way" for the doc to keep the Percocet to 5/300, (by adding Flexeril to potentiate it) it's bad medicine.

I just wanted to answer the trivia question. Ultram is tramadol and its an opioid because its synthetic. Not directly derived from opium, like an opiate. It also releases serotonin, which is what would make it similar to an anti-depressant. I'm an emergency vet tech ((15yrs)), not an RN. Someone smart is reading this thread ;-)
