Can I Take Hydrocodone A Day After Methadone

Run out of methadone last dose I took was yesterday so I've bee without methadone for 36 hours my Q is can I take Vicodin 5mg instead .Thanks.

Had several back surgeries which went south ... suffer from chronic pain neuropathy broke my both hand and knee recently. Dr is prescribing me klonapin 4mg a day and 40mg og methadone... run out of methadone just took 8 5mg vico is it safe ?? will it work to reduce the pain thanks!!

No, it is definitely not safe to take 8 Vicodin, at once. That is far too much Acetaminophen in one dose. Please make sure to inform your doctor, they will likely want to run a liver panel to see if you've done any damage.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Why did you run out of your Methadone? When do you see your doctor, again?

You can take methadone and Vicodin (hydrocodone) together without harm. However, be careful with the Vicodin as it can cause terrible acid reflux. It is hard to treat. You should eat something substantial before taking the Vicodin. Hope this helps. God Bless
