Subutex 460 Vs 54 411 (Page 4)

Updated

Does the Buprenorphine 8mg 460 work as well as 54 411's? I'm curious as I've seen other imprints, just not 460. Please let me know if they are better or worse.

I agree with many things this posts says and I am prescribed this medication. Yes, when I first started taking the 460s it burned under my tongue, still does. Unless your side effects are debilitating, and I am not saying some may not have true issues, I fear this relentless complaining and negative feedback will blow up in all of our faces with the removal of the medication entirely. And I can tell you it's saved my life, it's saved my family. My daughter's lost their father to overdose and I'm all they got. If it weren't for this medication, therapy and the grace of God, I could be gone too and there'd be 3 more kids without their parents.

Cvs has their own discount card that should lower your prescription to around $100 but you have to ask them about it

I'm sorry you are going through this. I too had this happen to me. I switched to Walgreens and got screwed bad because of the change of companies, I was happy with Walmart's 54 11's but me and some young chump ass pharmacist had words and I was actually in the right, but I started going to Walgreens and they had the orange Actavis and I experienced the same situation you explained in your message. So I had to hide my true feelings and go back to Walmart just so I could feel well again. You know I'm really getting tired of society and the way they think they can just s*** on us and act like we have to accept it. Screw them sorry people. Who made who, you know what I'm saying? Anyways I hope you find a resolution on your next go around but don't be afraid to exercise your options maybe try getting only ten filled next time and if you don't like them have them transfer your prescription to another pharmacy but try communication with the pharmacy and f***ed them if they don't like it, they should have thought about that s*** in college huh?

I have also been changed by CVS to the 460. I have headaches mouth sores and the taste makes me vomit. They gag me. I am going to find another pharmacy and calling CVS corporate it should be our choice have both brands I pay out of pocket and I want my choice. All pharmacys should give you what you ask for especially when you have to pay out of pocket.

Shawn spice, you most definitely need to do some looking online cuz you don't know anything!!! Any NORMAL person would know suboxone is buprenorphine and naloxone (naloxone is a blocker so you "can't" use other drugs with it, it will do nothing). SUBUTEX is straight buprenorphine with no blocker. Which is commonly prescribed to pregnant women or breastfeeding moms.. some have an allergic reaction to suboxone and have to be prescribed subutex. Anyways before you come In here looking like mr. know-it-all, you might want to make sure your "facts" are even true... now you just look like a ****** who doesn't know anything about the medication... Have a great day!

RE: "SUBUTEX is straight buprenorphine with no blocker."

Buprenorphine has blocking effects too - and is a partial opioid agonist that acts as an antagonist as well, making it very unique and in a category of its own.

My understanding is that Naloxone is only present in suboxone to inhibit intravenous use, but Bupe deserves credit where credit is due.

"Buprenorphine is a partial agonist meaning, it activates the opioid receptors in the brain, but to a much lesser degree than a full agonist. Buprenorphine also acts as an antagonist, meaning it blocks other opioids, while allowing for some opioid effect of its own to suppress withdrawal symptoms and cravings."

Hope this helps clear up any confusion!

Re: shawn spice (# 60) Expand Referenced Message
you're completely wrong. Subutex and suboxone are 2 different medications. They both have bupernorphine but suboxone has nalaxone and subutex does not. Don't speak on things you don't know about. It makes you look uneducated and stupid.

Ok now check this out. I have insurance with United healthcare. They've always paid for my subs. I'm on disability so Thank you God. Here's the deal. Mylan brand has raised there prices so much 245.00 for 90 no pharmacy will fill it cause there only reiembersed 65.00. I contacted my insurance they are working on reimbursing me but I had to get help from family. I'm either going to have to go back to the aweful Sun 460s / Hi-Tech/ Activis. Any specific on what would be the best I've read horrible stories about Activis. Hi tech are like skiddles and wear off sooner and the CVS 460 burn my tongue wearing off too. I contacted Mylan but I'm also on to my insurance. I think I don't have a choice I have to take whatever the pharmacy refused to fill it with my insurance. Seems like there should be laws about that...idk.

Re: Roxanne56 (# 69) Expand Referenced Message

You will have to find a mom and pop pharmacy that will fill it. My pharmacy is just that and said they will NEVER run out and they will never stop ordering them for me. But I also pay cash .. I used to hve insurance but not anymore. But I do know my brother goes to the same place with insurance and they told him same thing. So you'll have to find one that will. Unfortunately. Good luck!!! ?? Thinking of you!

Re: Wendy (# 4) Expand Referenced Message

I take the 2mg tablets usually 1/2 a day and the Sun brand stung my tongue, and for the first time ever (in 6 years) I had jiggly legs that night. Never had this happened on the Westward brand, don’t have a bottle to check, even when I forgot to take a dose and went two days. These are a background long-acting med for pain management with severe rheumatoid arthritis, with Percocet as needed for pain. My Subutex dose has been the same for six years, but Sun seems inferior to me and it took longer to dissolve. Since I also have Sjogren’s with dry mouth, CVS said they’d look for my old brand.

Re: Elly (# 43) Expand Referenced Message

That isn't true- ab them making everyone but pregnant women stop taking subutex. Don't listen to it. I heard it last year and freaked out and finally asked my nurse and doctor and they laughed lol

I’m in Pensacola Florida and my Cvs said they will special order me the Mylan ones bc I’m having issues with the new ones. Ask the lead pharmacist if they can do the same for you

Re: Kc (# 74) Expand Referenced Message

Yes, that's what I do. Idk if it's due to the close resemblance or what but considering the few generics left for subs I get Mylan. Out of pocket it's 245.00 for 90/8mg. I tried Kroger and the pharmacist was really cool about it. He carries Hi-Tech but ordered Mylan and accepted my United healthcare insurance. How cool is that!!! The chain pharmacies don't care about loosing a little money. I'm still having cravings and just not the same as my happy pill 54-411. Oh btw. I lived down there Ft Walton. Going bk eventually, love the ocean.

I live in Pensacola as well and I'm having issues finding a CVS that will carry Mylan or Roxanne.

I just received the 460 Buprenorphine hydrochloride (sublingual) 8 mg. It does not have the usual distastefulness as the 54’s do. It rather just tastes like a normal pill under your tongue. Has anyone else had this experience?

They are worse. I feel horrible, I am dizzy, I have no energy and I am depressed as well as having cravings. When I first got on subutex it was great. I felt amazing for the first time. Everyday, I felt like I was going to be a productive member of society. These 460 are bad. I have been at my worst since the 24th. My doctor is going to write me a new script so I can get another brand and get back to loving life. I advise against taking the 460. They will ruin your recovery.

Re: Wendy (# 4) Expand Referenced Message

I agree they are not the same as the 54s. I just don't know why they can't just give us what works better for us. Everyone is different so why not help with our problem instead of making life harder than it has to be. I've called at least 30 pharmacies and they want to know why my dr is prescribing this medicine when it's not there business. That's between my Dr and myself. These pharmacies need to back up and get their title in order... most people are going back to drug's because they are not getting treated right. Come on now.

Which CVS do you go to? I am also in the area and receiving the 460’s which I can’t stand. Any info would be much appreciated.
