Vintage Pharmaceuticals Inc. manufactures the pill V 3601.

Watson Pharmaceuticals also manufactures this drug. More specifically "Watson 358" is the same dosage as the pill you are describing.

And as far as I know, the brand name Watson is among the most popular. But based on this information maybe you can ask your pharmacy/doctor for the Watson brand (Watson 358) and see if you feel a difference in effectiveness. Hope this helps!

Please post back if you have any other questions or comments.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT! Those White pills do not work well at all! Call me crazy but I unfortunately have had to use norco 10/325's for a LONG time. I believe my body is ultra sensitive to the types of Pharmaceutical company's! Watson for me works the very best. I had to have my pharmacy special order Watson b/c this is what works for me!
Similar situation w/ another medication I use is Cholestyramine powder. The good company for this is "Par Pharmaceuticals"

I have taken a lot of different brands of Norco (10/325) and vicadin (5/500) and of the brands that I have taken, the best were the yellow Watson 853. Unfortunately they don't have them any more.

The white pills (Watson 853).pain medication has changed ,they don't kill the pain because they changed the ingredients ,maybe because teva is not a American company but a Israel company and is running under a American company called narco , I would like to know if the fda is aware of the changes ??

That's a good question about if the FDA knows about The fillers and the change of these medications as with any medication can be very harmful to not only chronic pain patients as we are but as well as myself being a heart disease victim but if we got together and sign the petition and sent to the FDA to see if they were aware of this as it seems like fraud to me or maybe an attorney's help as I went to feel last month's prescription and I have been taking Norco 4 years due to several chronic pain injuries that I cannot have surgeries for due to the severity of my heart disease and this is the only medication I can take to keep me comfortable as there is nothing they can do for my heart so with them tampering with it as they say it is illegal for people to do with street drugs what is the difference? Anyone have an opinion? To the elderly with osteoarthritis as well as cancer and heart victims as myself and anyone who truly needs chronic pain management we are possibly being manipulated and could be a reason why so many commercials around TV from people dying prescription drugs because of the company's possibly changing the ingredients without the FDA being aware

My husband suffers from chronic pain from osteoarthritis for the last 20 plus years. He has been on hydrocodone 10's for the last 10 years. It takes the edge off not cure the pain but its enough that he can stay mobile and active. He does not abuse it by any means. My point is, a few months ago his pain management doctor tried a mailing company, Cordant out of Indianapolis, who uses Watson (Actavis) pharm company. For the last 2 months I have watched him decline rapidly. Unable to do simple tasks, no energy and pain mounting higher and higher. The thought crossed my mind recently, maybe they've changed the medication and added fillers to make more money. As I got on the internet, I see others have had the same issues with this company. I can verify this by watching him get fast relief when he started a new bottle of hydrocodone by another company from our local drug store instead of Cordant mailing company. What is happening is CRIMINAL! I would be more than happy to get involved in some kind of legal suit or petition of some kind. Does anyone have any info on what we can do or is there something already in action that I can be a apart of. We the people need to stand up for what is right and face the giant.

I don't know ,but the same thing is happening to me !!! They have changed something were they don't work any longer , considering there made in Israel and shipped to us for stamping and what ever else they do !!! But there is something definitely going on with the hydrocodone 10s !!!!

I have recently (being a 10/325 had the same experience with Norco...not dulling any pain. Since I am a continent illeostomy patient and can see what comes down the tube several weeks ago I SAW practically a whole pill in the tube. I complained to the pharmacy and they said oh you need the yellow pill. Same deal. The pills seem to be shiny and enteric coated. I have now resorted to crushing as much as I can and throwing in my mouth with a large glass of water. Working a little better....but not much. I recently had knee surgery and thought I'd never survive it because of the pain. I think the pills were the problem. I'm going to try my 3rd pharmacy after the next "meeting" with the pain clinic. Here in CA we are severely monitored. Makes me feel like I'm a dealer or something. I can live a fairly decent life on them.
The sad part is once you get your prescription filled....too bad. You are stuck for another month.

Some I have tried in the past don't work. please tell me which is the best brand and which major chain might carry them. Hate to have to shop for unknown medicine. tks.

I honestly believe pharmaceutical companies are decreasing the main drug that is used for pain, and adding more tylenol..more money is made. I get deathly sick on some of these generics. I believe the FDA needs to take these drugs and evaluate them to see if they met requirements.

Go to fda.gov/MedWatch and file a complaint on their website.

So sorry Iraqmike — I salute you with my heart in my hand, please accept my appreciation! And all your pharmaceutical assistants at pharmacy need to be ashamed! I would take all my medications and have them switched! And Believe me “they DO care about that“. Mention it ONCE that you will switch your scripts to another pharmacy where attendants are caring and treat customers with decency and respect. SEE THE TURN-AROUND-CHANGE you experience swift!!! I hear it all the time and none of us that suffer chronic pain should have to be subjected to this! I promise there are days when I just get SICK of pills but to much in pain of discomfort sick to not take them! Chronic Pain is no party ‘ESPECIALLY FROM A BOMB BLAST FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM TO OPERATE SUCH NECESSARY BUSINESSES AS ALL PHARMACEUTICALS COMPANIES HAVE BECOME AND THE DISPENSING OF MULTI-MILLIONS Of pills the pharmacies await to DO their jobs in most courteous professional manner and in all fairness to The American System Of Medicine That Americans receive 'MOST' I feel is darn good if not great. Compassion understands that you must be able to put yourself in another's shoes, because you NEVER know when you may have to wear them shoes ...God Bless you to feel as comforted as possible considering the massive trauma. Such an injury has no words to describe! Decent Americans Honor their WOUNDED SOLDIERS IN ACTION ON THE BATTLEFIELD FIGHTING TO KEEP US SAFE HERE. You are a Hero.

What is going on I've tried almost all of the generics for the Norcos some make me super super sick and they all do not work no pain relief at all. I'm a chronic pain patient have been for 20 years. I miss the years before the DEA and the pharmacy manufacturers search screwing around with my Med and the meds of other people that are in pain. It's a crime.

Re: Mary (# 21) Expand Referenced Message

I just ran into the same situation this week. Rite aid is now Walgreens? That’s the excuse I received. I took the script to a compounding Independant pharmacy and they said the “Norco” manufacture was changing names and the non generic wouldn’t be available until June/July 2018??????

Re: Iraqmike (# 5) Expand Referenced Message

Mike, I am so sorry that you are a Veteran who has served our country, got injured and are treated this way. I have chronic Lyme disease and three coinfections, one in my bone marrow. The pain is unbearable sometimes. I have also tried to question pain medication, much of which, seems not to work anymore. I found out that the white Norco that I get from my pharmacy is only from a manufacturer called Aurobindo in India. I am a lawyer and I started digging until I found that many of my medications are made by Aurobindo. Then I found FDA reports on that company and its 19 units (manufacturing labs) which were investigated by the FDA. The reports indicated that, for generic drugs made by Aurobindo, there was widespread fraud. The FDA has known since 2013 about Aurobindo and they are still at work. The meds were "not made to specification, contained little to none of the active ingredient, contained pollutants and toxins" and contained other odd things like "unacceptable" organisms and road paint. Other manufacturers have people complaining, too, about the meds not working and making them sick. I am overwhelmed because I have only found a good manufacturer for one of my meds and my doctor requires that I only be given that drug. I went to a Publix pharmacy that only sells white Norco manufactured by Tris. It has no effect on pain, yet if I stop taking it, I have withdrawals. Something bad is going on and my doctors are stumped. I have talked to many pharmacies and the Compliance Officer for the State Pharmacy Board. I found no help, but I am not through with the Pharmacy Board. I just cannot research and figure out all of this being sick. I am at a standstill. Does anyone have information on what is happening?

Re: Lupus (# 68) Expand Referenced Message

What I did is start with a call to the pharmacy buyer, call their corporate headquarters, or Google it, find the number ask to Speak to the buyer for your pharmacy and politely ask them if they can please tell you why they changed and if there was any way they could order the ones you need for your pharmacy. If they don't, file a complaint with the FDA on the ones they are giving you now that do not work! Then call the pharmaceutical company that makes the ones you want and ask them where in your area you can go to purchase their product. Tell them how much their product works for you, and that your pharmacy refuses to purchase the ones they have, plead with them on what you can do! That is how I started, I was lucky that the buyer for my pharmacy had many other calls and letters from customers with the same complaint, and they would rather keep our business than lose it! So they special order the Qualitiest Norco for our pharmacy. That was two years ago, so many things have happened since then. Yet it's still worth a few phone calls!
