Benocide Forte For Caugh& Cold?

I have been sufferin from caugh & cold.doctor advised me to take benocide forte 2tabs daily for one month.Is it sufficient for my treatment?

This medication contains the active ingredient Diethylcarbamazine, it is used to treat parasitic infections and that's not something that would cause a cold, since colds are caused by viruses.
