Information I was able to gather states that Ativan is a powerful anxiolytic with a relatively high addictive potential.

Ativan has all five intrinsic benzodiazepine effects: anxiolytic, amnesic, sedative/hypnotic, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant

I am told that adivan ``is like a muscle relaxer''. My favorite muscle relaxer is the COX2 viox; that stuff used to work well; these days I will take a celebrex; also this works well.

I have used ativan for as a muscle relaxer before; my doc said it would be ok. I was getting a DAW 4 @1. That is 4 pills; 1 milligram pills per month max.

Yes they can become a problem! It is odd; my doc says he usually prefers the ativan over the valium for detox because of the half life.
