Smz/tmp Ds 800-160 Side Effects

In about 1 to 2 hours after taking this drug I get the chills and shakes and all my joints ache. I also get very queasy. I have been fighting this for 5 days now. Can you help me? Thanks.

I have 5 day dose of the following antibiotic: SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 TAB

It was used previously on: 3/3/10

For whatever reason I did not finish this Rx and have #10 pills left. My question is... What is the shelf life of this antibiotic??? I believe I am beginning a UTI and would like to take these and push the water and cranberry juice to get on and over this infection. Thank You!!

This is a generic for Bactrim, which is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of infections.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

In regards to the original post, if you experience such symptoms, you should contact your doctor immediately as that may be the start of a dangerous allergic reaction.

Linda, the expiration date would be 1 year from whenever you received them from your pharmacy, after that they start to lose effectiveness.

And no, if you only have 10 then you don't have enough to finish a complete course of treatment, which creates the risk of developing antibiotic resistance.
