Amoxicillin Cap 500mg

i would like to know what it looks like a cap

A friend gave me some medicine, she said it was amoxicillin 500 mg. the capsule is red and white. It has no imprint on it. There are no numbers at all. she is a nurse should I take them or call the pharmacy

I would bring it to a licensed pharmacist and see if they are able to identify it. I have seen two manufacturers of amoxicillin 500mg. One of them is an elongated orange capsule. The other, also elongated in an identical shape, is pink and red.

All manufactured U.S. prescription medications, be they capsules, or tablets, are required by law to have unique imprints on them to enable their identification, in case of emergency. Thus, something is not marked, is most likely an over the counter product, though there is also a small change that it could be a foreign medication.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
