Xanax Vs. Buspar (Page 14)

Yes-what is the major difference between these 2 meds? I have taken xanax for several years. I'm thinking abt. changing to Buspar. Can you switch meds like these without tapering off the xanax. Does Buspar help w/ Panic attacks?

Sair do Xanax, diretamente para a Buspirona, não sei se é tão fácil assim. Por conta do 'alto grau' de dependência. Talvez uma boa temporada, trocando pelo diazepam, seja mais fácil esta transição. Klonopin, apesar de ser bem diferente dos 'benzos usuais', e possuir um elevado grau de dependência, também pode ser uma alternativa. Acho o clonazepam, mais eficaz,e mais fácil de descontinuar; sempre nas menores doses possíveis, preferencialmente, na hora de dormir, e sem misturar com outras 'benzodiazepinas'. Sempre é bom seguir às 'recomendações médicas', para fazer esta 'transição', se conveniente for.

Buspar I been on for about almost a year the worse side effect I feel like I'm dying I feel these wired thoughts in my head all the time I feel dizzy I can't even get my thinking right and also relationship wise I don't want to be bothered I have no energy to do any thing I feel stuck to the bed it's not a good feeling I feel like I'm losing all of my friends and family cause of my illness they don't understand when I speak on the side effects it seems like I'm bugging out this is shanice it was ok but this is not the best medicine

I suffer from extreme anxiety and depression. I'm prior military so we move A LOT so I've seen A LOT of doctors. I had one doctor give me .25 of xanax to take once daily, then I had a doctor give my buspar which actually made me almost overdose even though I took the correct amount, I just had a bad reaction to it. At the age of 27 I had to have a partial hysterectomy due to cancer but then a couple days later developed a hematoma and had a fever of 105.5. Found out I had a hematoma, shingles, and MRSA all at the same time. Once doctors have found out that I've had 13 surgeries thus far at the age of 30, my doctor now has me on 1mg, 4 times daily. So I get 120 blue xanax just to DEAL with my daily anxiety. I never thought I would be on such a high dose but it definitely works. It's sad that there are so many people suffering just because there are people who abuse their prescriptions. I do wish everyone good luck, anxiety and depression is such a horrible disease to deal with!!

If you have adult ADD it won't speed you up if you take adarol it will slow you down make you tired.

I have been taken Xanax for ,20yrs. I only took them when needed. Now the doctor has prescribed busbar and I am having the most extreme anixet ever. I have gained 30pds. It makes me feel worse. I have just got home from the re.today 8 times since I have been taken it. I don't like it at all.

I was on 2 milligram Xanax for many many years when I decided I wanted to get off of all of that I tapered off of the Xanax until I was on no medication I also used talk therapy during this time. And as much as I would like to have been able to handle all of my emotional crisis on my own I found it it was necessary at times to take something I had heard of Buspar and it was prescribed for me and initially it was prescribed as a daily medication however I found relief upon taking the pill it does not have the same immediate effect as Xanax I preferred the effects of Buspar much more. When taking the Buspar I was not sleepy my speech was not slurred and my mind was still clear period so regardless of what anyone says about the fact that it has to build up in your system I don't believe that. Medications like that affect each and every person differently I also believe that if you begin taking a medication with the minds that it's not going to work then it's not. That's just my experience with the pill and the transition but everybody's chemical makeup is very different so what one person experiences from medication will never be identical to another person experiences. I'm on buspar,it works but prefer to be on xanax,but my doctor won't put me on them,who puts u on xanax,tell me please.

I have found that BuSpar has been incredibly effective for me. I took it over several years.'ill say one thing, I had the worst anxiety of my life when I was taken off of it. This is the kind of anxiety where you can't get away from it. It lasted about three days.I'd just stay away from any benzodiazepine. because it is addictive and the withdrawal is vicious.

I can so relate to your frustration!!! However for me, I found Ativan to be a lot easier on the body. For me I feel it leaves the body slower and Xanax left so fast my anxiety was equal or worse than before I took it. The crappy thing is, I fell 33 feet and had a 5 level spinal fusion and will soon have knee surgery. I have had anxiety for years and years back I was treated with Xanax and only used it for a crutch during my troubled times. I exercise and for me it is very useful in taking my anxiety completely away. I stuck and have no idea what to do as the doctor only allowed me to be treated with Ativan for 30 days took me right off of it and started me on Buspar which I'm not really upset by it cause I don't want to take it very long and form a dependence with the medication but s*** it really works. I suffer every night from anxiety attacks. I'm not allowed to exercise right now and that's the doctors orders but not willing to help me. I don't know what to do and I'm really hoping in just a couple weeks the Buspar really helps. This sucks I hope someone has truly experienced success with Buspar cause I'm really about to go off on my doctors! Workers Comp treats me like I dove off a roof and asked to cut my back open and can't pay my damn bills with 250 a week. So to people that abuse Ativan or whatever I hope it's really worth the high to screw people up that truly need it. Selfish and very weak people who chase a high everyday instead of dealing with your problems head on. If you do find the strength I promise you life will be so much more enjoyable and beautiful than what your chasing right now. Thanks for letting me vent, it really helped me tonight and I wish everyone a healthier lifestyle.

I totally agree with how ur feeling. After 30 years on 5mg xanax my doctor just stopped my medication. I had a small cleaning business and now i cant drive or leave the house. I'm dizzy and cant focus with constant attacks. I'm trying to get a new prescription for them but i'm afraid as i don't know if they are the proper ones? Can anyone help me please?

That's the problem, people are getting them off the doctors and selling them for a tenner each but leaving me at 57 yrs old and having been taken off them after 30 years is a f****n disgrace.... I hope they're happy for ruining peoples lives.

I use the 15mg dose of Buspar for IBS symptoms. I have anxiety attacks that make my colon flush, for lack of better words to describe how I feel. For some reason, things like bus rides with no bathrooms, long lines at amusement parks, TSA lines, traffic all of a sudden coming to a stop are just a few of the things that makes me start worrying about where Im going to go. I take a 1/3rd of a Buspar and a few minutes later, I don't think about pooping my pants. Before Buspar, I went to Six Flags and literally pooped 17 times and didnt go to another amusement park for the next 10 years. I just came back from a Mediterranean Cruise. Our first excursion, I was a nervous wreck. I took a 1/3 and I was ok until we were waiting for the bus. I wasn't as nervous but was still thinking about the bathroom. I took another 1/3rd and never thought about it again. It didn't even bother me when the tour guide said there were no public restrooms in Marseille. I hope this helps someone else cuz Buspar made my trip fun. And btw, 1/3rd of a Buspar pill will get picked up by the TSA scanner but they are cool about it

Hi I just moved to Florida from MA where I was prescribed 2 2mg bars a day. I do not have any insurance due to the fresh move... So unfortunately I found someone who is prescribed 15mg busebar and as I've been reading all comments. I would just like to know the efficiency of one ze555 compared to a2mg bar. Thank you

look into CBD , it comes in many forms , pills ,etc. you will be surprised how it works and how it has helped so many get away from harmful med's.

Thank you I appreciate that. I've been on 2 15mg a day and taking a bar or two when I get over whelmed. But the longer I've been on buse they are starting to get into my system and having less panic attacks. Or just feel over whelmed is when I take a bar or a half thank you for replying I appreciate it

Does a Buspar tablet (that has "tv 1003, 555" on it) affect you the same way a Xanax would? If so, what mg Xanax would you compare one to? If not, what would you compare it to? How strong is 1 tablet?

My doctor is the same way. She is even trying to get my mom off of her 0.25mg xanax... she's 62 with major heart issues, anxiety, and depression. A few people abuse medication and the people who actually need them get punished.
