Why No Pharmacy Wont Fill Rx 4 Methadone

I live in riverside county Ca. 92553. I recieve a rx from my pain dr. for the past 2yrs. Why won't no pharmacy fill my rx.They can call his office n his staff he will verify it.All the pharmacies keep saying it's on back order, they don't carry it,n no one will order it for me. Did the DEA change the rules on filing methadone in California? HELP! IT'S BEEN ALMOST 2WEEKS.

Sorry to hear about your troubles trying to fill this medication. From what I understand, many patients are having the same challenges across the Nation with regards to filling just about any type pain medication script over a certain dosage.

Apparently the DEA has been cracking down heavily on pain medication abuse "within FL."; even suing Walgreens $80 million for filling too many Oxycodone scripts. Many believe this to be the source of problems to come for other states as well, since a number of pharmacies are now scared to fill narcotics in general, with the DEA watching their every move.

Have you tried asking your doctor about changing dosages or the quantity, as a means of increasing your odds of getting this particular medication?

NOT SURE HOW OLD THIS POST BUT HERE"S A WAY TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM.

First off, try to get at least 3 days earlier than you need it (the RX)to the pharmacy and ask them to order if need be due to their supply and whatnot. If they say they can't, it's a lie and you're just screwed. YOu will then have to find a mom and pop shop. They never fail. That 's why you pay 3x the normal price when using those. Mom and Pops know about the partial refill and as long as you get the rest of narcotics in 3 day period, it's legal. The giant chains are just lazy and stick to their monthly allotment of methadone allowed on the books even if they can legally order more. (you could be lucky and find someone nice or explain you know what's up)

The 3 day early suggestion is so that if you only have chains, then it gives them the 3 days it usally takes for ordered RX meds to get to the pharmacy. Pharmacies order extra meds every single day. I've had numerous problems getting methadone prescribed by my normal big Chain pharmacy and even went to 9 pharmacies in one day looking for enough methadone in stock to fill my order. Only 80 mg a day so i"m not asking for their whole supply. My friend get's 150mg a day, that's a lot of pills and he get's them from a chain in a bunch of sealed 100 pill bottles and then whatever is less than 100 in another bottle. Dude only takes 30mg a day and scams the rest which pisses me off cause the doctor that gave that to him won't help me out because he has too many pain patients already. I could use the methadone he just wants to sell. SO UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last fill for methadone was Acology in cape coral. They only fill if you also have a non-controlled script 1:1. Walgreens blocked me from all their stores when they did fill before. Where can I get methadone in ft Myers ?

I have been on methadone for 5 years and had to go to the Doctor every month to get my refills the Dr says the DEA will not let there be a refill on methadone.

I'm looking for a pharmacy in TallahasseeFlerr 3wd, that has methadone 10 mg in stock, I normally have no problem finding them,, as I have a rare form of Muscular dystrophy that's very painful and many years of documents proving this,etc.etc. bottom line is I need to know if anyone can tell me a pharmacy that normally carries them,I would very much appreciate it !!btw. it's self pay w/o insurance but it doesn't matter as it's so cheap anyways!THANKS AGAIN!!!
