I found Subutex in my daughter's room with a needle. Do people really IV this? Why do people take it that dont need it?

Suboxone has the opiate blocker in it, and Subutex doesn't. I've done heroin and then 10 hrs later snorted a suboxone and got high. I recently got pregnant and went for help. I stopped buying dope off the streets and started buying suboxone. I went to my ob/gyn and they started me on subutex. Haven't switched over yet, But I want a happy, healthy baby with NO WITHDRAWS! I'm still having mixed feelings but they keep telling me it's better then the drugs I was using.

Lynn people use it when they can't get heroine or other opiates. I assume she is using heroine as well. Confront her ASAP don't hesitate because no matter how much she will hate you you will be saving bet life

You cannot get her into rehab without her consent. She has to want to get clean or else it will be a waste of time for the both of you. Trust from experience. I have gone through this with family.

Hey man I appreciate the post it's nice to know that there still are people out in the world willingly to help others out! I'm trying to stop myself had my last hoorah tonight and tomorrow starts my new clean life! I'm going to try your 4 day routine you posted and am going to get clean because of it!

No don't worry I don't believe the test would be able to detect if narcan was in it or not. The orange subs contain narcan a drug used to bring u back when u are over dosing, the subutex do not contain the narcan.

get her in a methadone clinic?! get her in rehab and a 12 step program. get CLEAN! best of luck to all trying to better ur life.

U can take it at the same as the pain pill and it won't send u into withdrawal subutex doesn't have a opiate blocker

needs into a rehab or suboxone clinic that monitors them.... I'm a recovering addict & subutex has truly helped me and my husband and many friends overcome our opiod dependency.... praying all works out for ur daughter O:-)

I see a lot of people saying she's using heroin if she has Subutex or Suboxone in her room. I am currently going to a treatment center for pain pill addiction and I am on Subutex. It's not just for heroin users. Subutex is the way to go unless you don't trust yourself. If you think you would possibly use again, take Suboxone, which has a blocker in it and you will not get high if you use anything. You're just wasting money on the drug. I gave been an addict for 10 years and it all started from a simple doctors visit. I had gallstones and my doctor put me on Endocet (generic for Percocet) 10/650. 120 a month. After I got my gallbladder taken out, I was already addicted. So I kept getting them. If she had been a good doctor, she would have taken me off of them. But that's how it all started. It wasn't until recently that I decided that my life, marriage, kids, husband, and family were more important to me that drugs and I was not going to lose them. I have been clean 23 days now and feeling great. I forgot what it was like to feel normal. I'm loving my life!

Amy they give u subutex for pregnant women because its better for the baby then suboxone is for some reason Dont know why but im sure u could find out with out much trouble

Dee u are being a really big b@#$/ by saying that most people are legally prescribed there meds and the doctors just keep on giving them more when whst they are on doesnt work as good as they use to if the doctors were trained the right way and educated about opiate addiction before they were allowed to prescribe opiates there would be alot less people getting addicted cause they would recognize the signs and help people get off them before it turns to a full blown addiction

Yes u can take the subutext it doesn't have the opiate blocker in it like suboxana. Trust me I've been a addict for 8 years, been shooting up for 6.

No don't do that methadone is horbal sh@#$%**..very bad and very hard on body to get off..

Cold turkey, or with only 5 subs and then nothing is the Best way to go , unless you are not strong enough to go through life being clean,,,,,, That would be the only reason for a long running sub maintenance program, besides that reason alone the only interest a Dr. has in keeping you on those meds would be for monetary gain and nothing else.

Im trying to get of percocet. I take between 60 to 90mg a day. I have 3 subutex. Do I swallow them or put under tongue. What dose nd how often do I take on the 1 2 nd 3 day nd so fourth

I have been on subs for 8 1/2yrs. I started out in a suboxone "study" of heroin addicts, funded by the drug company(they gave me free meds for the 1st 2yrs) I completed a 60day lock-down rehab followed (voluntarily) by 2 1/2yrs in a halfway house, recovery group meetings, etc.
The subs have saved my life, but it is NOT an overnite remedy! I was absolutely MISERABLE on 16mg/day & didnt sleep for 21days. The main reason I didnt go AMA was I had no $ & absolutely nowhere 2go. With the grace of God, I stuck it out &im still alive.
Make no mistake people, this addiction is a lifelong struggle. We are prisoners of our own thoughts. The only way 2be set free is through the belief in something greater than ourselves & the love + support of others in recovery.
Its pretty sad 2read these silly comments re: suboxone vs. subutex, when it all began w/a mother looking 2help her daughter! WTF is wrong w/u peeps?!? Do u think u r actually helping anyone? BTW- Lynn, I will keep u & ur daughter in my prayers. Unfrtunately, ur girl HAS to hit bottom before she will want 2change. Love her w/all ur heart. DO NOT ENABLE HER. I knw its painfull, but it will only further her addiction. Let her go til SHE seeks help for herself. THENsupport her in any way possible & shower ur baby girl w/all the love in your heart.
