When Can I Drink Alcohol My Last Pill Of Sulfameth/trimeth

I was told I had a Kidney infection and was prescribed sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim 800/160MG to take one pill in the morning and one pill at night.This Saturday night will be my last pill. I also was prescribed Metronidazole, to take two pills in the morning and two at night. I just took my last 2 pills for that. Now, I know I have to wait at least 48 hours after taking Metronidazole to drink alcohol. But my question here is how long after I take my last pill Saturday night can I sit down and get drunk? I was thinking 24 hours after I take my last pill? Since it is a "normal" antibiotic. Should I wait longer?

You may actually want to give it a couple of days, because it does linger in your body and continue to work for several days after you finish taking it. That is why some people have finished the entire course of this antibiotic and then developed allergic reactions to it. It takes a few days to be processed out of the body.

Since it's a sulfa drug, it's really not a 'normal' antibiotic either.
