What Are Opioid,tramadol, Hydrocodone, Fentenyl Dosages.
UpdatedI am 70 years old and have taken the following 3 medications for the past 4 years, hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10-325 T(1 tablet 4 times daily), Tramadol 50MG tablet(1 tab 4 times daily), Fentanyl patch 75 mh (change patch every 3 days). Jan 2017 my insurance stop paying for the Tramadol and hydrocodone unless I went through a pain clinic, I did go to a pain clinic. The pain clinic refused to prescribe both Tramadol and hydrocodone indicating a new law that will not allow it. The new opioid regulation indicates this level is to be monitored and know and understand the symptoms they are prescribed for, but the pain clinic indicate this level is above the limit and I do not need it. I have suffered from juvenile RA since I was 4 years old then degenerative rheumatoid arthritis my entire life, osteoporosis and degenerative spinal cord. I had spinal disc C3-C5 surgery-screws in the front and back, surgery adverse outcome-came out of surgery to ICU for 17 days with some paralysisOpiod and long term problems. My spinal surgery has constant pain bone rubbing in the surgical area and nerve pain also. Every joint I have suffers from RA deformity and excruciating pain with any movement I make. The hydrocodone helps the pain in the joints and bones, the Tramadol helps with muscular nerve pain, the Fentanyl lowers the pain to a level the other 2 medications will supplement. I have tried many other medications but the 3 meds I was prescribed for the past 4 years were the only combination that gave me any where near a normal lifestyle. The last 4 months of not having these medications have been the worst life I remember in a long time, if this is the life I can expect to have for the remainder of my life I really see no reason to continue with the pain. Do you have any suggestions, I have written medicare, my congressmen and representatives but the time everyone indicates it will take them to look into this it may be as long as a year. I think it is terrible that a person is being treated and responding to the treatment plan for 4 years then overnight some insurance company can stop the treatment my primary physician (my primary physician for over 40 years knows my medical history and medical needs better than anyone) had been doing for over 4 years.
