Can certain over the counter medications or prescription medications cause a false positive for Methamphetamine in a blood test?

Polly Pocket, I am going through the same thing. DCS currently has my kids because I tested for meth at 188 ng.. I am a recovering meth addict been clean 12 years. Rantinidine (zantac) can also cause a false positive for meth.

I don't use meth and came up postive for meth I well lose my doctor I use, lipitor 80 mg acyclovir 400mg dilaudid 8mg sertralive 50mg amlodipine 5mg zetia 10mg ambiem 10mg unisom, 81 mg of asprian and Norco 10mg what is the reason for me to come up positive for meth I hate meth please help me

I have been goin to this same pain clinic for servel yrs all of sudden I test positive for methanfenamize other wise meth I have never in my life failed. Im thinking the workers did it cuz we all had a fuss.Itake oOPANA 30mg metformin 1000mg pravastation 40mg zoptor40mg gralise1200mg motion sickness 25mg.kolphin 5 mg past month I been taking Sudafed and robtussion and and other over the counter meds.I'm so upset with this.

I had to take a ct ordered blood test & hair folicle test due to custody if my grandson which has always lived with me. I'm disabled, almost 50 yrs old & go to a pain mgmt dr due to severe back &neck trauma. Current meds are: hydrocodene, 15 mg morohjne when needed, Wellbutrin xl, proposal, topamax, meperdine only as needed, clonazepam. Also Botox injections bneurologist to relieve pressure 4xyr. OTC: sudafed, ranitidine (zantac), NyQuil & I walk around w/a bucks inhaler 24/7. I'm devastated my hair test came bk as meth positive, blood was negative other than rx's. I wouldn't know what this drug looked like if it were to slap me in the face. Is there any if the meds I'm taking that could cause this test show a positive result?

I hv a friend trying to get off meth.so her friends give her xanex. To release her fear, and her panic attack s .from being around others and her paranoia. She's scared beca use the meth calms her fear panic attack s and fear of trust. But she doesn't want to get in trouble .will the xanax cover or make it a false test.

I just went to DR and was told I Tested Post for Meth! I've never SEEN meth before!! I was given Mylan-Beclo AQ Nasal Spray.. I take Rantinidine 150 2/day.. Cetirizine 20mg 1/bed.. 30mg MS Morphine.. Gabapentin 300mg 4/day.. Baclofen 10mg 3/day..... My Dr said that if my test today was fine and the one next week I have to go back for I would be fine! He never said I could be cause of any of these meds! I just googled and found this... Sooo how do I explain its because of these meds I'm on that everyone says causes false positives?

I just took a urine test for a job and tested positive for THC..I do not smoke marijuana...the only thing I take is vitamin supplements and Garcinia Cambogia...is it possible that this made me test positive

i have court in 2 days and i was arrested jan2 2014.and they swobed my mouth an it camnd it came up meth hows is that possible i dont do drugs. came up meth also i pee in a cup but very very little. i take alot of meds it came up meth so they say. what should i do in court.

I took a urine test the other day an it came back positive for meth I have never did meth in my life so I offered to take a blood test to show I wasn't on meth an sure enough the blood test came back negative well after I got the lab results I went to see my probation officer they did another urine test it came back positive and I had just got transferred there too so they told me I can take drug classes or they will send me back to where I came from so I said just send me back I'm not admitting to something I didn't do even if it means jail so when I got to my old probation office they told me my officer will see me in the morning at 8am so I leaves 40min later they called me on the phone an said to not come in the morning but to come Monday at 8am which was a few days away I said ok next morning my probation officer calls me but I missed it so I called back left a message an didn't waste no time I went to his office he wanted me to admit i used drugs which I refused because I haven't used any an he said he was gonna test me an if I was dirty I'm going to jail an gave me one last chance to come clean I said that's fine I'll take the test so I did an it came back clean so I gotta meet with him again in a few days but after I failed the 2nd urine test I stopped taking BC headache powder unisom an zantac an the 3rd test was clean the one I took after I stopped taking the over the counter stuff the blood test was clean because unlike the urine it looks specifically for meth which was simply not present in my system so I know it was one of the 3 over the counter meds that I had taken "BC headache powder" "unisom" "zantac 150" so my question is which one of these 3 caused it?
