What Is The Best Generic Version Of Wellbutrin Xl - Watson Or Anchen? (Page 40)

My doctor will not prescribe generic Wellbutrin XL but my insurance will no longer pay for brand name drugs. I will have to pay about $7000 per yer for what I am taking now (3 of the 150mg Wellbutrin XL brand name per day). I am reading that the problem with the generics is the time release mechanism and not the drug itself and that some are better than others. Anybody have experience with the generics made by Watson and /or Anchen?

Yes, they usually order just enough. It only takes a day for them to get it from their supplier.

its interesting that the insurance would charge more than what I paid out of pocket for the same drug as I havent any insurance at all...I paid 50.00 then nothing on the PAP (patience assistance program).

Yes, Direct Success told me the same as well -- $50 out of pocket if I just want to bypass insurance altogether. That seems like a fair deal too. I have no idea why they charge so much to insurance companies ... maybe it's just because they can.

I use Voltaren cream 100g. Very surprise it works but it does for me. In medico said diclofenqco 100 mg is a pill form of the other. I have fibromyalgia and lower back pain. I don't put the cream everywhere but the worst spots. I take Savella, methadone, Prozac, vitamins, and hot flash meds. I am 60 so wondering about this medicine. I also wonder by reading others that if the ingregidence is exactly the same as brand, there is no difference That sounds like that isn't true. But I would think some .of the meds would work well generic. Even over the counter from brand to generic store product, such as Tylenol. Can you educate me a bit about this topic and the med I got in mexico.

Are you still having problems with the Par generic? My pharmacy is only carrying Par now and I'm afraid to try it if something has changed and it's not as effective.

Well, I've been taking the Par generic for a very long time. Since being on Wellbutrin, my appetite had declinedand I had just about quit smoking. For about 2 months now, I've gone back up on smoking and I eat all the time. I'm not sure if maybe Wellbutrin is just not as effective for me anymore in general, or if it's Par. I also take Paxil now too so it's hard to distinguish which med I'm benefiting from at the moment. My mom was just prescribed Wellbutrin and she's also taking the Par generic. She has been on it for 2 weeks now and has felt no effect whatsoever, not even any side effects, which is unusual for Wellbutrin because most of the time you feel SOME sort of side effect at first, like some jitteriness or more anxious than usual, etc...so it's making me sort of suspicious of the efficacy of Par. It worked great for a long time, up until about 2 months ago. You can give it a shot, maybe it's just me, and maybe my mom is tolerating it well side effect-wise...but I'm going to ask for Mylan when I pick up my next refill and see if my smoking and appetite declines again.

I stopped taking 150mg XL Par yesterday. I had severe itching and hives. The first few days of taking Par brand I did great! I was me again. 3rd day everything went down hill with the itching and hives. On the 8th (yesterday) I said enough. Now I'm trying to figure where to go from here. I'm so disappointed Par did not work. I'm super sensitive to drugs.

Hi everyone who are possibly trying to again find where they are able to get brand name Welbuterin for no more than $50 a month. I just finished my last 300xl yesterday and didn't realize that I didn't have any left until this morning. You have to get your MD to phone in this prescription which in reality could be a huge thing to conquest. Anyway if you are lucky enough to have your prescribing doctor with five minutes of down time to do this and he is up for it let him help you and do what I feel is their job to do but hey it's only my mental health at stake if he doesn't.

Call Valient 1-800-520-3185 and a Jessica helped me,, call them and have them get you your medicine after receiving the phoned in prescription from your doctor..... You'll be able to have your much needed meds within two days. Any longer is just your MD not giving a S***. Make sure your cc is working and pay the $50 for the month (Direct will take payment or call you for your CC #)... If you don't have the money, then with much work you'll be able to figure out a multitude of ways to get it paid for with DIRECT....they will work with you....Forget generics unless they are working this month for you. Get the brand name and stick with that, it will all work out with brand in the end I'm sure.

I never tried the brand name but with all the complaints I read online I decided to order the brand name from Canada. I haven't received it in the mail yet. Anyone have any luck with doing this? Is the Wellbutrin (they say it's Valeant brand) just as good as the brand from the U.S.? I thought the assisitance program from Valeant states it was expired according to it's website.

Your post is from a few years ago but I will post this information for the benefit of others.

First of all you're right. The Wellbutrin program shows it's expired on their website. It's not expired.. Google wellbutrin assistance program to find the 800-number.

Secondly if you take 450 XL per day order one bottle of 300 XL and one bottle of 150 xl vs three bottles of 150 mg. this will s ave you $50 per month. Your dr. May have to prescribe it this way. Should not be a problem.

I hope this helps someone. Without going into the boring details of my own experience with Wellbutrin versus generic I believe Wellbutrin brand is superior and works much better. I've tried both and didn't respond well to the generic. It took me a long sad time to figure this out. I hope I can save someone from having to go through this.

Ok I went to my doctor and he filled out the form for the Valeant Wellbutrin assistance program and faxed it to them. I called Valeant and answered some questions have them a credit card and now I have home delivery for brand name Wellbutrin for $50 a month! I haven't even tried the brand name. Is it really that much better than the generic? I am looking forward to switching ??????

I had lasik about 5 years ago and when I started taking Wellbutrin I had to get glasses. This was the generic Apotex 100 mg. So I am hoping if this problem was because of the generic and I switch to brand name I will get my eyesight back. The timing was a bit odd and I might have to blame it on the generics. A couple questions....if your doctor gives you a higher dose and you happen to have 2 different Wellbutrin types like XL and immediate release can you combine the too to get to the right dosage or is that dangerous? Also I am waiting on a package from a Canadian pharmacy with brand name Wellbutrin. Are those brand name the same? I used canadadrugs. Any thoughts or comments on this? Thank you.

All anti-depressants can cause thoughts of suicide as a side effect. Not everyone experiences this side effect however. I'm sorry to hear it might have done so for you.

I've been taking the generic 150 mg XL made by Mylan for almost 2 weeks now. It's definitely doing something but I don't know what to compare it to. About an hour after I take it I actually get sleepy, which lasts 5-6 hours then I feel alert and more focused than I have in a long time. And even though I get sleepy my physical fatigue is much improved, if that makes sense. Like I might want to take a nap but if I force myself to go to the pool I can swim laps like I haven't been able to do for many years. I wonder if I should try the brand though or give it more time.
