Prescribed for depression ## For years on wellbutrin I've complained of chronic adult acne, insomnia, and tons of anxiety and uncontrollable carb eating problems. Many many doctors. I took a drug test for employment and failed... The drug test came out positive for methamphetamine. I said what, I don't do drugs - I only take wellbutrin for depression everyday. I was taking 150 ml of Bupropion SR by Teva for several years and it has stopped working for my depression. Has anyone been happy with the other generic forms of Wellbutrin? I am now trying one from Activis but just started it yesterday. ## Your body will get used to the dosage of any medication that you take for a long period of time and it will eventually become less effective. Thus, it's really doubtful that switching manufacturers will help. It's most likely that you need a slight higher dosage to get the same benefits as you did before from this medication. How is it working for you? ## I haven't taken this particular manufacturer's generic form of Wellbutrin (Bupropion), but thought I'd provide some additional information on it for those readers who may be trying to compare it with other brands/generics they may or may not have already tried. Bupropion XL made by Anchen Pharmaceuticals (of whom Par Pharmaceuticals purchased in 2011) are the small white round tablets imprinted in black ink with "A 101" or "A 102" for the 150mg/300mg doses, respectively. Hi! I am on lexamil 5 mg daily for a week before that wellbutrin 150 mg and 5 mg lexamil for 4 weeks before that wellbutrin 300 mg for 2 years. Weaning from the Wellbutrin because dr feels that it increases my anxiety, which is my main problem. Can these meds lead to alcohol blackouts? One minute fine to next minute waking up with memory loss. My memory is really bad on day to day basis. HOW DO YOU KNOW ITS WORKING ## It is not usually a tiny pill, they are usually a bit bigger and thicker than an Aspirin. Are there any markings on the tablets? Can you please post back and clarify? Sissy, overall it is an antidepressant that can also help reduce the cravings to smoke. Years ago, it was frequently sold under the brand name Zyban, specifically to help with smoking cessation. Ive been off Lexamil since last Friday and have been having horrible dizzy spells, pins and needles in face and hands, night sweats, hectic dreams and lethargy. On going off Lexamil I started Wellbutrin. How long do these symptoms last???? ## How is it legal to take someone with severe anxiety. Valeant will no longer allow coupon usage in California. I use to get the brand Wellbutrin XL 150 for $5, but as of January 2018, AB265 passed. It prohibits pharmaceutical drug coupons in California with 5 exceptions to the bill. One exception in particular (C) The individual has completed any applicable step therapy or prior authorization requirements for the branded prescription drug, applies to my situation. But, Valeant is not willing to comply with the exception. I called the company on 3 separate occasions and they said they absolutely will not allow usage of their coupon in California. I even gave them the Assembly Bill 265 information regarding the exceptions, but they were not going to look in to it. I started on bupropion xl 150 mg, taking it to help with my libido ( 50+ years old going through menopause) and weight loss. Libido was great and lost a few pounds first week then nothing. Dr increased to 300 mg... I have been taking for 4 weeks, no weight loss and no libido.... I know this med can take awhile to work... any thoughts, will it begin to work soon? I spent most of my 20's addicted to cocaine and alcohol. I have struggled with pretty severe anxiety and depression since I was a teen due to some traumatic life experiences. I took these substances to self-medicate. My doctor suggested some sort of medication to help. I researched and I was initially attracted to Wellbutrin because of the lack of sexual side effects and weight gain issues that are normally associated with ssri's. Hi, I am 48 years old. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar 2. I have been using Cipralex 10mg together wilth Wellbutrin. Since the last quarter of 2008 Cipralex was no longer available in SA. At the moment I am gaining weight and as I am short and do suffer from asthma and a heart defect, this is very uncomfortable. I'm a 58 year old woman who had a total hysterectomy at 48 years of age, taking hormone replacement (estradiol cream) I started on Wellbutrin 150 mg., by Sandoz, (pink pill) and was on it for maybe 3 weeks. Did nothing for me. However, I seemed to be angrier and more emotional. Dr increased dosage to 200 SR which I've been taking for a week. Wellbutrin has been in my system for 1 month now and there has been some slight improvement not much. My dr mentioned she might include Effexor with it. Actually my Dr wanted me to take Effexor instead of Wellbutrin, but I preferred Wellbutrin because I was concerned about the weight gain. I take Wellbutrin and amphetamine. Is this ok with TBX free? Is there any reason I can't take these medications together? ## Has anyone used TBX Free while taking antidepressants? If so did you have problems? I'm worried about complications. ## I was unfortunately unable to locate any specific reference of a drug interaction between TBX and other medications, I think, primarily because its active ingredient (Cytisine) is a plant derived alkaloid that's non-existent in standard Western medical literature. I take wellbutrin xl 150 mg once a day for depression and anxiety and I have had real good luck with it. This is going to sound really weird but since have been on it, during sex with my boyfriend (I am gay btw), my ejaculations are explosive and I stay hard for a long time after and sometimes ejaculate twice without going soft. The erection actually sometimes hurts it is so hard . Also, embarrassed to admit, it happens now when i masturbate. Is this at all normal? I mean I am not complaining and my bf isn't either. Was on Wellbutrin only about a month, just didn't seem to be working or helping at all. Dr finally decided to try Lexapro. Just curious if I'll experience any major effects while tapering Wellbutrin (only on it a month) and start up effects of Lexapro....these in between stages are horrible because it's hard to tell which is the culprit. I just need some relief. Second guessing my decision to stop paxil after years of being on it- maybe I should have just stayed on it. ## Why did you stop the Paxil? The FDA does warn that while switching medications, you may experience nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, rebound depression, and anxiety. What dosage were you taking of the Paxil?

I was on paxil for about 20 years, I'm now 43...it just seemed to stop so we decided to try Wellbutrin. After the terrible paxil withdrawal finally ended I started to feel some energy and motivation but still quite anxious, very irritable and angered quickly. cry for no reason and some minor aches and pains...talked to Dr, at first they said try Ativan as a side help--didnt do much...ok then they say vistaril---thats fine if I want to sleep all day. now they are saying try propanolol (spelling)...I haven't tried it yet but this is my first full week 150mg twice a day wellbutrin and 3rd week total on the drug...I guess Im just looking for insight if this anxiety, irritability anger etc will pass...according to Dr it will but I'm losing my mind right now...it's so hard com...

Hi. I am a teacher and have children with immune deficiencies who require a lot of attention and infusions every month. I am on Wellbutrin and Prozac. He is now weaning me off the Wellbutrin and starting me slowly on epitec. First 25mg, then 50mg, then 100mg, then 150mg. He said it is to help me cope with my circumstances and make me “thicker skinned”, not because I have bipolar. I am very confused because some people say that epitec has a side effect of gaining weight and others say it has helped them lose weight. I am absolutely paranoid about putting on weight.
