I just started (5 days ago) 50 mg Vyvanse. Take it in the a.m. Worked great the first 2 days (maybe a little mind over matter) and now I feel unfocused and lethargic (in a fog) like I took Nyquil the night before. Is this common for some people when you first start this drug? ## Yes, others have reported similar experiences when they first started a medication like this. Have you consulted your doctor? You should also check in with them just to make sure that there is nothing else odd going on.

pot. changing ADD med./Adult ## I've been diagnosed with ADHD for several years now and and been on Adderall and Ritalin. I didn't think the Adderall was very effective so I switched but after a few months on the Ritalin I'm beginning to think it might be to intense for me. My friend is on Vyvanse and she says it's the best medication she's taken for ADHD, so I would just like to know your thoughts. ## Just to add some information or anyone else seeking… Any time you're trying to treat a medical condition, it can be a matter of trial and error to find a medication that works for the person, without causing unwanted problematic side effects. Some people get lucky with the first one they try, but there are others that may need to try several diffe...

I took 160mg of vyvanse all at once, yesterday around noon. I haven't slept since I woke up around 11am yesterday. It is now 6am and I have to be at work at 10am in a few hours. How much do I need to take now to get my high back up with out going overbaord? Basically will a redose after an allnighter (18 hours since last pill taken) get me high again/higher?

About five years ago, I started Vyvanse 30mg for depression. For the first couple of years, I felt wonderful. I seemed to have more energy, felt more social, and lost weight effortlessly. What wasn't to like? Then, the med became less effective and my dose was increased to 40mg. I struggled along for another year and a half, with some benefit. Then, the bottom fell out. I began to experience the very opposite of my initial effect. I'm tired all the time, irritable, argumentative, and have gained back all of the weight I had lost, PLUS some (despite no major change in my eating habits). I made excuses for why I should keep taking the med, hoping it would be good again. Now, I've had to admit that this is no longer the med for me, and I'm in the process of being tapered of...

Hello all, I am a 21 yo male and I have been on Vyvanse for close to four months now. I was prescribed 30mg pills for ADHS at the begging of the summer and really noticed a huge difference in my overall performance at work and in dealing with people. After two months I noticed the effects seemed to taper off earlier throughout the day and only last around 5-6 hours. I then decided to take one pill in the morning and one at mid day as to combat this "come down" earlier on. At the end of 15 days I was out of the drug due to working many days straight and not taking breaks form my medication. At my last Dr. visit I asked to be bumped up to 50mg due to this tapering effect. The doctor obliged and once I filled my script I was back to the normal effects. Unfortunately the past couple...

Hi I'm taking 60mg of vyvanse in the AM with 30mg aderall is this safe and my blood pressure medince all togather. Please answer back! Thanks ## Hello, Melanie! How are you? No, these types of stimulants aren't usually safe for someone with high blood pressure or a cardiac condition, because they can cause elevated blood pressure and heart rate. Learn more Vyvanse details here. Learn more Adderall details here. Has your doctor prescribed all of these? What are your usual blood pressure levels? ## My blood pressure has been good everytime I've checked it. I have a high tolerance I guess that's y I feel I take so much! Thank you for responding to me..

does lisinopril vyvanse? Just checking as I'm thinking the benefits are diminished ## It's not that they counteract each other, but if you have high blood pressure or a cardiac condition requiring Lisinopril, then you shouldn't take a stimulant like Vyvanse, because it elevates your blood pressure and heart rate. Learn more Vyvanse details here. Learn more Lisinopril details here. Thus, you could clearly be putting yourself at risk, or the prescribing doctor could be putting you at risk. If they are both prescribed to be taken, then the doctor doing so should be very closely monitoring the patient and they should also be checking their blood pressure and heart rate very regularly. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking oxycodone 30mg for 3 years now, have been taking Vyvanse 40mg for 7 months, and have had no issues until recently. I just snap out & start screaming over the most minor things, have absolutely NO motivation, & just want to curl up in bed & cry all day. I saw my doctor who put me on Lexapro 10mg & after taking the very 1st dose at bedtime, I woke up drenched in sweat, freezing, dizzy, shaking, lethargic, confused, pale & clamy, muscle spasms, & nausea the next morning & it lasted ALL day long. My doc told me to stop taking it & gave me sample packets of Viibryd to try tonight but I'm scared to death & don't EVER want to feel that way again. Has anyone ever taken the Vyvanse, Oxycodone, & Viibryd combo successfully? ## H...

Is there such a drug called vyvan and if so could you please tell me what it is prescribed for. is this a drug that can be easily bought on the streets or must someone go to a doctor to get this medication. I currently have a cousin who is taking this medication but I can't seem to find much about it on the internet. Thank you for your help. ## Its probably vyvanse. Its an ADHD medication. I dont know if its sold on the street. ## I think you may be talking about Vyvanse, which is an amphetamine used to treat ADHD, similar to adderall. Not sure, just throwing this out there. May be the reason you're not finding anything on the internet about it too? Hope this helps. ## I have to agree with Sandra, that is the most likely choice. Here's a link to more Vyvanse details. I'm 16, 5'0 very petite. I took two 70 mg vyvanse around 11am and then 1 more around 1 am. Total of 210mg. I havent slept all day (its 4:37pm). I feel jittery still and i get weird chills. I feel EXTREMELY anxious and paranoid. How long will this last? ## I know you asked this a couple days ago but I wanted to ask how you're feeling now? What you reported definitely sounds like you had a bit too much of this medication, and the insomnia aspect is definitely possible with Vyvanse. I think it should have worn off by the evening at some point, but I do hope that you sought out medical attention if that was not the case. Can you let me know if you're ok now?

I've been taking street *not_prescribed* vyvanse 30 mg once daily *give or take, as some days, I'd wake up too late to take it* for about 8 weeks. At first I loved it, but now I'm not so sure. I'm experiencing extreme irritability, severe insomnia, nightmares, and some pretty debilitating panic attacks. I'm also concerned for my digestive system. I've dropped considerable weight...no thanks to normal bowels. Overall, I'm really starting to see the risk here and I think some encouragement from people that know where I am currently would really help. I've never been so productive and organized in my life. And things are finally starting to turn around for me and I'm petrified of losing that. Please help. ## Hi Mandi, Based on my research, what you are e...

My son has a very mild form of aspergers he does not have ADHD but has ADD. He is also on Zoloft 50mg as well as vyvanse 50mg. He has been on both of these meds for a little over a year and the only positive thing me and my husband has noticed is his concentration at school. The biggest thing we have noticed is agitation, tics like biting his nails and the skin beside his nails so short to where they bleed and just a VERY bad attitude. He is also very down on himself. I was reading the side effects of both the Zoloft and Vyvanse and both cause agitation and tics. Anyone have any suggestions on what other meds there is out there that we could talk to his doctor about? He has been on Ritalin and concerta and those did not help. The Zoloft is the first SSRI he has been on and I talked to th...

Will vyvanse hurt a person with type 1 diabeties? ## Hi, Nell! How are you? Medications that can have a stimulant type effect, such as Vyvanse, can sometimes cause problems for people that are diabetic. Since they can increase the metabolism, it may cause your blood sugar to drop more than usual, especially since it may suppress appetite and you may not eat as much. Thus, any antidiabetic medications being taken may need to be adjusted frequently. In some cases, a doctor may be reluctant to prescribe it, due to all of the possible complications that could occur. Learn more Vyvanse details here. So, it isn't that they're directly contraindicated, but they can be problematic and cause some complications. What has your doctor advised?

Hi! I've been using vyvanse for about 5 months now, and i'm pretty sure i reached some level of dependence. when i'm off i don't crave for it nor i think it changes my mood (maybe cause i'm also on a mood-stabilizer med), but when i stop taking vyvanse i have absolutely no energy. i'm on vacation now and my doctor is not prescribing it to me during this time, but i want to enjoy my free time, go out and do fun things but i have no energy so i can't really enjoy anything i'm doing. coffee and red bull has no effect on me anymore. i wonder if anyone ever went through it and how long did it take for you to go back to normal? i have 2 ritalin prescriptions and i might just buy it cause i really don't wanna spend my vacations like that.

so ive been on Vyvnse for 2 months now, started at 30mg then to 50mg, then 60mg basically after 3 weksof each, 60 mg was working perfect, but I still had no patience to read longer then a few sentences. but I lied everything else it fixed. I went from sleeping 14 hours to 5 hours, can look people in the eye, remember lectures, be confident around people etc. but after a month, I thnk I got greedy, I thought 70 mg would fix my patience fr reading and fix the feeling of anxiety that people thought I was weird or awkward, it seems the more energy I gave, the better my mind can focus, the better I can speak, but 70mg after 3 days is making me a repeating record and I lfeel a crash after 5 hours, tired etc, 60 mg didnt do this and I was sleeping less. 70 mg Im sleeping 13 hours or s these pa...

Today, my boyfriends 6 year old son was started on Vyvanse. His father has been fighting the medicating of his son in court; we are now court ordered to give the med. This bright, energetic boy is perfect as he is: behaviors are mainly while with Mom, which is 80% of his time. I am heart sick as I read about the dangers, side effect and anger caused by this med. I come to this with some knowledge. I have a 24 year old daughter who was diagnosed as ADHD and took Ritalin for about 10 years. I regret that decision; she and I both hated the med, and used it only for school hours. The primary side effects for that were primarily loss of appetite. She did take Adderall for 1 week; and my beautiful daughter had horrible rage alternating with episodes of weeping. Now here I am years later; with...
