So I have add. I've have been diagnosed with add on three seperate ocasions over the past 25 years. Now I'm in my mid 30's and just could not do the "drug free" route any longer. My doctor perscribe Vyvanse and to me it was like a miracle,,,at first. My doctor warned me of the euphoria like feeling at the begining and he was right and it subsided over the next few days. She started me off almost from the begining with 60mg (2 or 3 days of 30mg then wanted me to double). So realitively quickly I noticed a "crash" in the early afternoon. When this happens I'm actually way worse then before I started taking vyvanse. I recently left the US (Michigan) and came to the UK to study abroad. The term is less than 6 months so I cannot have the universal health care over here. My pharmacy told me that they would be able to ship my Vyvanse (30mg) over here, but now they are telling me that they can't. My parents tried sending it through the mail, but it was stopped at UK customs. I don't know what I can do. I thought about seeing if my health insurance from the US would pay for a visit to a UK doctor and for a prescription of Dexedrine or something (Vyvanse hasn't been approved over here yet), but even if I did that, I'd probably have to be rediagnosed with ADHD. I'm a 21 year old male, whose had his history of drug abuse, including abuse of adderall as well as taking vyvanse when NOT prescribed it. Well now i AM prescribed vyvanse for my add and i got prescribed to 50mg capsules, yesterday was my first day to take it and i took ONE like I'm supposed to at 7 am yesterday morning, and that was ALL I took. Went through the day and was of course more focused and producdive than usually am w/not on these meds, but then i wento bed @ like 10:30 and ended up laying in my room all night w/out anything close to sleep. It got to about 4 this morning and i was like f*** i gotta be somewhere @630 so i took todays dose at that hour. And whats weird is i took ONE again, like I'm sopposed too and a little while after i fell asleep for about a half...

Hello, im 19 and was prescribed with vyvanse starting at 30 mg. The first couple days I felt more motivated, optimistic and less scrambled and depressed. But I noticed as I moved up in dosage that the drug didn't last as long as I was told. I was then prescribed 5 mg of adderall for a boost during my day, it works some days but not consistently. What can i do to make my medication last longer? ## Have you consulted your doctor? Are you also making sure to take your medication at the same time each day, without missing any doses? What do you drink, when you take them? What type of foods do you eat?

hey so I am 17 year old and i had my first time using vyvance today. My friend gave me about 3\4 of a 50 mg pill and i took it at 8:30 pm in school. For the first 4 hours i was extremly motivated to do work and happy.I knew exactly what was going on in my class and felt incredibly social. Even though i was feeling good i felt a little weird and had little energy rushes every once in a while. By 2 pm , i was starting to feel nervous and could really feel my heart beating fast. At the time, i was taking a test and had to ask my teacher to go to the nurses because i thought i was going to pass out and something was not normal. My 15 year old son has been on some form of stimulants since he was in the 1st grade. He is currently on 70 mg vyvanse. We are trying to get him off of it, but he is having really bad withdrawals so much that it interfering with his school work. Should we try giving him 30mg or is that too low a dose after 50. Any suggestions? ## Tapper him down, if you have the capsules an hes on 70mg's, start by cutting the capsule in half and power the powder on the table, now split it into 7ths and give him 6/7ths of it for 3 days then after those 3 days give him 5/7ths and etc... ## Have you consulted his doctor for assistance? I have been injected with steroids 3 times in the last four weeks, I am prescribed 70mg Vyvanse, and 1800 Ibuprofen daily and I have my first pee test on Tuesday with my PO and I am very scared that it will show thc. Is this true and would I still be in trouble even though my PO is well aware of what I am taking? ## Hi Michelle, I can certainly understand your concern for THC showing up on your drug test, since Ibuprofen is known to cause false positives for Marijuana (THC). In my opinion, your best bet would be to reference any articles of information stating that this is in fact a possibility that they should be made aware of. Ive been on Vyvanse for almost 2 years w/no success, I was on Adderall XR & imm. Release before. It worked better, do I need to wean off the Vyvanse? All I have is 70 mg Vyvsnse capsules? I have put a full day of studying in while on 70 mg of vyvanse. Roughly 8 hours of intense study. I am now mentally fatigued and want to go to sleep. My question is would taking another Vyvanse be effective when my brain is so tired ? or would it just be some what of a waste to take while brain dead. ? ## Have you consulted your doctor? You shouldn't take an extra dose, without your doctor's approval and, in addition, 70mgs is the maximum daily dose that's been tested as safe. Thus, taking more may result in overdose.

I took 30mg the first day in the morning. Gosh, was I productive and organized what a great feeling! I did have sniffles and was glad I'd not had coffee or tea that morning. No warning about this from the doctor however. Later that day in the evening I began to experience head-aches and it lasted all night and into the early morning. I called my doctor, she said that I should not take it that day and cut the dosage in half. I did what was recommended except I took a little dab with water, because I was concern that I might be experiencing a withdrawl symptom. Today I've take a half dose in water as recommended. Will the ADD medication vyvanse show as a false positive for amphetamines on a urine drug screen? Is it possible to get--or where can I find-- a list of the FDA regulated urine drug-testing centers in the US? Thank you. ## Hi Robin, In some cases, yes. Information I gathered states that Vyvanse is a prodrug for the chemical dextroamphetamine. Dextroamphetamine will cause a positive test for amphetamines, and in some drug tests methamphetamine. You should provide your prescription to whomever is drug testing you to show valid reason for such a positive test. I recently moved to the Phillipines for year job. My doctor wrote a Rx for vyvanse before I left the US and said I could get it filled in the PI. So far I cannot find anyone who even knows what this drug is. Does anyone know where, in the Phillipines, I can get this filled. I live in Cebu, but can travel if needed. ## I don't know where you can get it filled, but if it's available there, it may be under a different brand name, or as a generic. The active ingredient is Lisdexamfetamine, so you may need to let a pharmacist/chemist know this, so they can check for an equivalent medication for you. does vivan used for ADHD have side effects such as sleepiness, swollen legs and feet, hot flashes, lack of a monthly menestration, and hands and arms that ache a lot? ## DId you mean Vyvanse, which contains the active ingredient Lisdexamfetamine? If so, you should contact your doctor as soon as possible, the aches and swelling could be signs of serious reactions to this medication, which may require proper medical treatment.

I'm 36 years old, and I've been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder Type II, Adult ADHD, Anxiety Disorder, & AntiSocial Disorder.I take Symbiax for Bipolar Disorder,Klonipin for Anxiety Disorder, and just switched from Adderall to Vyvanse for my ADHD. I just wondered how long 70 mg of vyvance stayed in the system and gave energy...perhaps...actually any information to do with this subject. Thank you so much for your time! ## How longer does 70mg vyvance stay in your system ## Information I've gathered states that Vyvanse's half life is 12-13 hours; which means about 24 hours later you have metabolized an 'estimated' 75% or more of it. Effects are probably the best indicator: palpitations or high heart rate or eye dilation means you are still being affected. orange oval shape ## My 8 year old granddaughter has recently been prescribed the generic form of this medication after being on phenobarb since birth for seizure disorder. Have noticed a very hard time going to sleep, being very upset that something has happened to us and just seeming very down. she is also taking vyvance (?) for ADHD. Hate seeing her like this, very disturbing. Called sobbing tonight because she was worried about her Nana and Papa. ## im 17 and curently on this pill all i can say is i hate it.... the trilptol is not the reason she cant sleep. the vyvanse is the reason. just for the fact that the adhd med is speed in a capsal. they had me on vyvanse until i realized it has a street value. so consult your doctor not the web =)

Strange, normally when I take a 25 Aderrall XR I feel the effects and can study for hours on end...I was recently prescribed Vyvanse, but I still had some Aderrall left, so i took one 25 mg XR at about noon...didnt feel much, so i broke open another 25 XR and ate half...still nothing..so i ate the other half (at about 3 PM)...about an hour later I still felt very below average effects. So I took a 40 mg Vyvanse. Felt more focused, but nothing special. So I broke open another 40 MG and poured half (20 mg) into a glass of water. Drank that, and about an hour later still nothing, so I took the other half....and I still don't feel any effects! Not even average effects....very strange. how long does vvyance stay in the system? how long do psychotic side effects last? ## Vyvanse's half life is about 9 and a half hours; give or take an hour or two. That means that in most people, the medication has some effect for up to 14 hours! There is really no way a doctor or anyone else can know ahead of time how any medication can affect anyone. The only way to find out is to actually try it and make these assessments based on how you feel. If the side effects are too severe however, I would highly recommend contacting your doctor about switching medications. Um topic describes it mostly but i exercise i play football baseball i run do track but i don't gain muscle my friend has a 4 pack why cant i gain muscle i do so much exercise its not funny no weight lifting crunches pushups none of that but shouldnt sports be enough for someone my age please tell me for me to gin muscle remember i take vyvanse ## Vynase can cause weight loss, but doesn't really have any effect on muscle mass.
