Change from CYMGEN 60MG to NUZAK 20MG
1 Reply RSS
I've used CYMGEN 60mg for almost 5 years. My new GP decided to put me on NUZAK 20mg. I Use it with EPITEC 350 MG. I have glaucoma. I am using NUZAK now for almost 10 days and experiencing side effects like nausea, dizziness, off balance and feel out of control. Must I keep on using NUZAK? ## Those are listed as possible side effects, according to the NIH, you may also experience mood swings, weight changes, and dizziness. Have you started taking it, yet? How are you doing? Are you on any other medications?

DUREZOL EYE DROPS
Post a Reply
I've been on Durezol for 1-1/2 years for Iritis. I've had 6 eye surgeries in 2 years-2 macular holes, 2 cataracts, 2 eye shunts because of high IOP. I've gained 17 lbs. When you drop Durezol then pinch your eyes, you still get Durezol running into your tear ducts which then goes right into your system. Can't be helped. But also because Durezol makes your vision blurry and your eyes light sensitive, I've not been as physically active as I was prior to my eye surgeries and I went into a little depression. I think that is reason for my weight gain and maybe others.

Success with Jetrea? Side effects subside?
19 Replies RSS
I am scheduled for Jetrea 4/30. I am wondering if your side effects have subsided and would you do it again. ## Hoping to hear from people who used Jetrea to close Macular Hole. I am wondering about lasting side effects. Do you think it was worth it? Did you need to go on to have to have surgery? Any thoughts, opinions and insights on Jetrea are appreciated. ## I have had a successful experience with Jetrea. I have just posted a brief description of my post injection recovery here and have kept a blog. I hope my comments will be of help to you. ## Thank you so much for sharing your story. I read your blog and it was extremely interesting and well done. I think it is interesting that you felt so confident to try Jetrea when you were maybe the first in the country to do so while I am so h...

Prefrin Eye Drops For Red Eyes
19 Replies RSS
Ophthalmologist prescribed PREFRIN eye drops for red eyes nearly 20 years ago. Is it available now? My problem is allergic in nature (itchy eyes = angular conjunctivitis mild at inner angles of eyes ). Appreciate response from OLD-TIMERS. ## I have had prefrin prescribed approximately 25 years ago and I use this daily although cautioned by optomotrists that this could lead to a permanent red vessel eye condition. I do however find these drops comfortable to use and the removal of red in my eyes. I can no longer find this product and pharmacies all indicate"out of stock". I assume that the product is no longer available and perhaps I could be informed of a replacement or alternative product. Information would greatly be appreciated. ## I used to use Prefrin in the 80's & ...

Can Latisse backfire?
66 Replies RSS
I used Latisse successfully for several months & loved the look. But then my lashes started to fall out, leaving me with short stubby ones less full than when I began the latisse. Does anyone know if it stops working, or the body gets resistant to it, or have any of you had the same reaction? THanks. ## Same thing happened to me - I am wondering if this is a bad batch of Latisse - how would one know until eyelashes stop growing or fall out? ## It is normal for your body to eventually get used to any type of medication you are using, even a topical one and it may stop working as well as it once did. The warnings in the product information also say that other changes in hair growth may occur and though it is rare, this could involve shorter or less lashes. Some drugs don't work at...

Hypotears Discontinuation
9 Replies RSS
The first hypothesis is that Hypotears was so good that the medical establishment forced somehow retailers and the pharmaceutical company to discontinue the product, and the second hypothesis is that the cost to make Hypo is so outrageous that the public won't be able to afford it out of their pocket. ## I have been buying HypoTears over the internet for awhile. Suddenly the price has quadrupled, leading me to conclude that it has been discontinued. How can I find out for sure? ## Hey guys, I just wanted to post an update to those of you who may be looking for HypoTears on the internet. Apparently some retailers do still carry it. Not sure what the original price tag was before it skyrocketed, but what I'm seeing are 1oz packages of HydroTears for $24.99 and $59.96 from two diff...

Eye drops with Azelastine
Post a Reply
I was using Bausch + Lomb eye drops for years with good results. Then insurance companies made me switch to generic Azelastine HCI by Apotex Corp and in the past 3-years I'm sure there were other manufactures because the bottle has not always looked the same. I've discussed the terrible side effects with Generic brand. I'm told it's the same as B&L but it's not. This Apotex Corp burned or stung so bad that I jumped in the shower with my clothes on. I've always put a drop on my inside wrist and wait a day before ever putting liquid in my eye and though this is not a full proof way of knowing if the drops will burn it certainly makes me feel a little more at ease before using. I never had a broblem until generic and now I'm using/trying many over the counte...

Has anyone experienced loss of smell and taste since getting injections? ## What did your retinal specialist say about the cause of loss of smell and taste? Were you on Lucentis or Avastin before start of Eylea? ## I haven't been able to find any information that lists such symptoms as being known side effects of this medication, but it's very difficult to know how any drug will affect any given person that takes it. Have you contacted your doctor about it? Learn more Eylea details here. ## I have been having inj's. for amd since Oct 2010. First Lucentic for about a year, then Avastin. Horrible side effects
2 Replies RSS
My daughter had this injection approximately 2 1/2 weeks ago and has had a horrible reaction. It started with severe pain and almost total blindness in the eye. Everything is now dark and distorted. The iris and pupil in her eye are both much smaller now than the other eye. Don't take the risk of having this injection. We don't know yet if this will be permanent. ## Hello, Sandy! How is your daughter doing? I am so sorry about what happened to her. Vision issues and pain are listed as possible side effects of it, according to the FDA. Other side effects may include intraocular pressure, intraocular hemorrhage and retinal edema. Has her doctor checked it, yet? ## How's your daughter? Has her vision improved by the Jetrea inj.?

I am having a problem finding a listing of the exact ingredients, but if online ordering isn't an option for you, you might want to try asking a pharmacist for an equivalent alternative. ## alternative to Hypotears ## I m in the same situation now taht it's impossible to get this product my life has been hell, I dont seek help with my eye dr (I done that t several times before) but is no help for me, in the first place the test they do are really hard for me to handle and after that the only alternative is restasis wi...

Jetrea Experience
2 Replies RSS
I am 54 years old which I am told is fairly young for this situation. I also had Lasik surgery 10 years ago and my vision was perfect for distance. I was only beginning to need reading glasses. It was very difficult to accept the changes that started occurring in my right eye especially since my vision was so great beforehand. I had surgery (vitrectomy) for a macular hole in Jan of 2014. The surgery was successful but I did develop a cataract very quickly which almost always happens after this surgery. Much to my dismay, the same situation presented in my left eye in Dec of 2014. I knew immediately what was going on so I made an appointment with my surgeon. We decided to try the injection this time since my hole was very small and he figured it was a 50/50 chance in my case. I had the i...

I have a little round white pill with 31 over 80 or 31/80? does it interact with Combigan? what are the dangers? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check such interactions to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Glycopyrrolate as possibly including nausea, body aches, cough and decreased urine volume. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I accidentally put combigan in my ear? Should I be concerned?

No reaction to Jetrea

I had an injection 5 days ago and have not had any reaction. Does this mean that the injection didn't work? ## Hello, Sue! How are you? Not necessarily, it could be that you're just not sensitive to its side effects. I am very sensitive to medications and usually end up experiencing a ton of side effects, but my mother-in-law is the complete opposite and rarely ever experiences any from any medication she tries. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including reduced vision, pain and retinal breaks. Are you still doing well?

Side effects from Simbrinza.
3 Replies RSS
Does anyone using these eyedrops feel like a zombie? I am lethargic, lightheaded, and so tired. Has anyone experienced these symptoms? Thanks. ## My consultant for ease of use moved me from Brinzolomide and Brinmodine (same as Simbrinza only in separate bottles) in October 2015, in January 2016 I noticed a stinging sensation in the corner of bottom eyelid. The severity increased for 3 months and caused severe scabbing along lower eyelid along with stinging and redness to skin around the eye, it is now July 2016 this has now spread to the other eye. Although the pressurers have decreased considerably, the stinging/redness is now becoming an issue of importance, so I may have to consider another eye drop. ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Those can be side effects of this medication, as reporte...
