I have only been on viibryd for one month. As soon as I hit the 40,,so I could not stop crying. All day crying. When I was on the lowest dose things were fine. I felt good. I want off 40asap what is the quickest safest way. I will just stick to Xanax i think it works better and I don't cry. I've been on viibryd for over a year and I'm still depressed. I get up, go to work, come home and go back to sleep. I don't want to go anywhere or do anything. I was on prestiq for about 4-5 yrs and I was about the same. I've been on 40 mgs of viibryd for 7 weeks. I've noticed a loss of appetite, which is good. However, recently I've noticed a mild burning sensation seemingly at the top of my stomach. I will have that looked at when I get home. Does this sound familiar to any of you? Also, is it OK to take Tylonel PM with 40 mgs of Viibryd? ## Although I'm not familiar with the symptoms you're describing, I did find information stating that there are no interactions 'found' between Tylenol PM and Viibryd. I take 40mg of viibyrd every day. I am really bad about getting my refills when they run out until I missed 3 days of viibyrd!! Omg I was so sick it was terrible! wORST headache of my life, chills, puking and thought I was gonna die! I am not exaggerating!!! Needless to say that's one refill I never forget!!! Even my doctor tld me because I got so sick if it happens again to stop by his office if I cnt get my refill for whatever reason and he can gve me a cple samples until I get mine filled! for anyone trying Viibryd its different for everybody ive only been taking it for four days i took a 10 the first day i had diarrhea second day i took a 20 and i started to feel better not so depressed but didn't last long so the next day i took a forty around noon lasted almost all night i felt like a million bucks i was a little chatter box but like every person there's gonna be tolerance and tolerance in weight and i weigh 110 the only side effects ive had were slight muscle spasms (normal) eating increase (moderate) diarrhea this lasted one day along with the rest of these side effects except i keep eating if you have seizures like me check with your docter to make sure it doesnt cancel out your medication like adderal did to me caused me to have seizures ## Hi butters, Than...

I was on for 10 days Dr took me off. How long before I feel normal again. Had every side effect possible. ## Fortunately, you weren't on them for a long period of time, so it shouldn't really take more than a week or so. There's no way to say for sure, since it can vary from person to person, but you should start to see some improvement each day, until they taper off completely. Learn more Viibryd details here. Finished starter pack. Never felt better- worse. More anxiety, less sleep, and awful nightmares. Took me off of it and withdraws were awful. Horrible nightmares, and hot and cold sweats. Awful drug for me. Getting back on rimeron- just have to deal with some weight gain. It works well for me. Everyone is different. Just be careful weaning off the Viibryd. ## I realize it can be somewhat different for everyone, but I get the sense that all these medications are addicting enough to induce some epic withdrawal symptoms once your body gets used to having them and then suddenly not having them. Are you finding that Remeron (mirtazapine) is any better than Viibryd when it comes down to withdrawals?

It seems like I get sometimes severe anxiety if I miss a dose of Viibryd. I am 40mg's. Seems like it will start within 5 hours or so. Also I have burped A LOT since being on it and constipation seems to be worsening! I plan to speak the doctor about it but I wanted to know if anyone else had any of these problems. I hate to stop taking it because it seems to work better than anythink I habve taken so far. ## Yes, the anxiety is most likely a withdrawal effect and they can occur very fast with these types of medications. The gas can happen with almost any medication, you may be able to mitigate it by making sure that you aren't gulping when you take it and make sure you are taking with plenty of water. Another Viibryd user actually posted a thread on here trying to warn people about the effects of mixing the two. I ave been on it for 6 months 40mg I ad experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide and was not coping with it very well I have strange dreams yes but that is it . I do sleep very found which I welcome . But honestly this drug has really heled me with my depression ## Thanks for taking the time to briefly share your experience on Viibryd. I am 75 and have been on 40 mg for about 3 months. I don't think that I needed this but the Doctor prescribed it as I was going thru a tripping and falling down period. I'm pretty stable although I read that someone complained about their sex life destroyed. Not my problem, my problem is that after a while of flying model airplanes, my right hand gets so shaky that I can hardly control the R C plane. Many crashes. Does any one have a problem like your fingers start trembling, perhaps due to Viibryd. This condition started after 2 months of taking Viibyrd. Mayby it's just old age creeping up. So far I am feeling good. almost finished with starter pack of viibryd 40 mg. I had side effects while on the 20.mg. But they have gone away. Dizziness,nauesea,stomach issues,insomnia,increased anxiety,and headaches are gone. I have greatly reduced anxiety and depression. And have went from taking 4 .25mg. Of xanax daily,to one xanax in the morning for my drive to work,if i'm off that day, I won't take any. Also, I would get horribly depressed during PMS. Time. Currently having PMS,but only have mild sadness and cramps. My husband needs to get off Viibryd. He has had every side effect possible and then some!! How should I taper his dose? We have 40 mg tablets. Can these be cut? Would 1 week of 20 mg then 1 week of 10 mg then stop be OK? Help please! ## Sorry to hear about your husband's bad run in with Viibryd. Unfortunately, a lot of these prescription medications have side effects that are so horrible they often seem worse than the condition they're made to treat. Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. I noticed my hair looking very fragile and thin, i asked my co-workers, and everyone said that they noticed, but did'nt want to say anything, because i always had thick pretty hair. At first i thought my beautician was using something different on my hair, i asked she said no, i can only attribute it to viibyrd, this is the only thing that has changed in my life the last 4 months. ## Well, you are essentially adding a chemical to your body that it isn't used to having and many of them do have an effect on your hair. saw Dr. today and told of side effects, hallucinations, etc. and he said to discontinue....just STOP. No tapering off. Has anyone else done this. Have you had worsening side effects? ## How long were you taking it? If it was only for a short period of time, then you a taper usually isn't necessary, especially with such severe side effects. I have taken 10 mg of viibryd for a week with loose stools, cramps in my stomach, sleepy in the morning to the point I need to pass out for 2-3 hours and then wake up for a few hours to then start being very aggravated and on edge. Not to mention the whole week of medicine has caused terrible headaches & jaw pain ## I noticed my jaw pain first with zoloft then changed to Viibryd and still hurts , the headaches started for me on the 40mg ...the stomach issues are still here .. I just started cutting my 40 mg into 20mg and trying to wean myself off.. not to mention the leg cramps and I feel like I am not here .. in a fog all the time .. I just dont like it .. maybe u will feel better .. good luck :) ## KK, you should look into trying something else. While side effects should taper off...

I began the starter pack with 10mg for 2 weeks and then moved up to 20mg for 2 weeks. I experienced the WORST ever side affects from an anxiety drug. I have taken many, and this was unbearable. It caused extreme muscle fatigue to the point that it was difficult to move my arms or legs, and increased my appetite, due to the stomach side affects. Food eased the stomach cramps. The worst side affect was my blood pressure was scary high and my heart beat became irregular and fast. After mentioning these things, I was switched over to Effexor - SOOOO MUCH BETTER!! ## I have been on this for about 2 months and have AWFUL muscle pain in my legs, arms and back. How long do I have to be off this before these side effects go away? These are not the only side effects I have but definately the ones...

HAS ANYONE HAD BAD SIDE EFFECTS AFTER COMING OFF VIBRYD FOR 8 days? ## You were only on it for 8 days? If so, there shouldn't be any severe issues with stopping it after such a short time. I have a 40 mg pill of Viibryd and there is no score on it can it be cut in half for 20 mgs? ## Hi Judy, My general rule of thumb is that a pill can be cut in half (even with no score line) as long as it's not an extended-release tablet; more over because I'm not sure as to how cutting it will have an effect on it's extended release properties. If I were in your shoes, I'd still feel comfortable cutting it in half taking into consideration the details mentioned above. I hope this helps! Does anyone else agree?
