Is there anyone out there who didnt see any improvement in their symptoms of depression and anxiety until they reached 40 Mgs please let me know I'm on 20 for over two no improvement please let me know ## Have been on it for 9 days, starting with the 10 mg. NO improvement. Supposed to be fast acting. I am weaning off starting tomorrow after taking 1st 20 mg yesterday morning and waking up at 3 am to find I had had terrible diarrhea in my pajamas! I would rather be depressed and anxious than have to deal with that or any of the other multitudes of horrible side effects I have read about. ## I have been on Viibryd since Novemeber. It took a full 2 months for my depression episodes to subside. I still have anxiety and will address that next week at my appointment. ## Terri, Are you hav...

Been on it for a year and ever since suffer constant dizziness. Thought it was allergies but nothing helps. Has anyone else dealt with this ? ## If it's still continuing after a year, it's most likely not going to change, you'll most likely just need to switch to a different medication. Have you tried any other antidepressants? There are many others available. Do you take it for depression, anxiety or something else? ## Was taking it for depression. I've cut it down to just 10mg a day. Dizziness is gone, but intense sadness and anxiety is through the roof.. getting ready to try something else.

The psychiatrist put me on Viibryd a couple weeks ago to treat my depression/anxiety. I have always struggled with suicidal thoughts that often lead to attempts, so I have been institutionalized many times. I also sometimes get hallucinations and psychosis. I have been on several different medications in the past, my original diagnosis was Bipolar. Now they think it may be Schizophrenia. The doctors aren't exactly sure. Anyway, since I had been on so many different medications before with no success, he put me on Viibryd claiming it was very good for "treatment-resistant" patients. So far it seems to be working alright, except I haven't had a good night sleep in a while. I struggle to fall asleep every night, and when I finally do I end up waking up at 3am. Other nights ...

I just started Viibryd 3 days ago and I am having a pain in my jaw/cheek. Could this be related to the Viibryd? ## Hi Emmy, From what I could gather, very stiff (rigid) muscles is listed as a side effect of Viibryd; although I'm not sure if this could be related to your jaw pain? There also seems to be a lot of unusual side effects associated with Viibryd. Perhaps one of the threads linked below may be of help in so far as seeing what others have to say about their experience: Discuss/Viibryd-220039.htm Discuss/Viibryd-side-effects-221843.htm Odds are that Viibryd is the root cause of the jaw pain if you've never experienced any such symptoms before taking the medication. I hope this helps! ## Hi Emmy. I started viibryd in oct. 2013, and yes, had jaw aching pain, along with terr...

Anyone taking viibryd? I am on 20 mg and having problems with my muscles being sore? Anyone else having these problems? ## Hi, Snoopy! How are you feeling? Muscle soreness or aches can be a side effect of this class of medications. Learn more Viibryd details here. How long have you been taking it? Most side effects only last about 4 to 6 weeks, while your body is getting used to the medication, then they start to taper off in severity. However, you should consult your doctor to be certain that there's nothing odd or unusual going on. ## R I still taking viibryd ## I don't recall sore muscles. Just horrific sleep paralysis, nightmares, & then major discontinuation syndrome. How's it going? :)

Hello all, I started taking Viibryd back in August of 2013. My doctor prescribed me 40 mg daily. I was also taking .25 Xanax as needed. To say if my anxiety went away, I'm not so sure. Anyways, I relocated to California back in January, and I am now 2,000 miles away from most of my anxiety triggers. There have been days when I had forgotten to take my medicine and experienced TERRIBLE side effects. Itchy all over, dizzy, and terrible neck pain. I went to see my new doctor about 2 1/2 weeks ago and he said that someone my age (22), and size (118 pounds) should have never been prescribed this or such a high dose. He instructed me to ween off of it. Needless to say after taking 1/2 for a week, then 1/4 for a week, as of Monday I am done to nothing. I am exhausted. I literally can sleep...

Attacked my wife last week and slit my throat and wrists. Took 47 stitches to get me fixed up. Spent a week in the hospital then jail time. This med has turned me into monster. I would never hurt my wife much less myself. ## I have been on Viibryd for about two months with severe clinical depression. I have noticed it works well for me. But I have also noticed that Vii...

I've been taking Viibryd for over a year now with great success! It has really changed my life. Over the past 3 months, I've had an issue with chronic Nausea and vomiting . My Dr. Says it isn't drug related since I was able to tolerate after starting. I can't figure out what is causing this and it's very frustrating. My gut tells me it's the drug , but I am so scared to stop taking as its helped me so much! Has anyone else had this issue??? ## Hello, Lily! How are you doing? Your doctor is right, it would be very unusual for the medication to cause nausea, after being on it for such a long time. Has anything else changed, such as your eating habits? Exercise levels? Are you on any other medications? ## No, nothing has really changed, I am not as active as I shoul...

I've been taking viibryd for 3 months in place of Prozac. I've had a problem remembering my dose because of the "take w food" requirement.... sometimes forget to take it w dinner. Two times now while incredibly overtired, and when forgetting my dose, I have had the scariest experience. When falling asleep, the feeling of drowsiness is so strong, yes like paralysis, and then in my mind's eye I start to see "light bulb flashing" and then I hear voices, and worse my typical ringing in my ears can really kick up the volume! I struggle to open my eyes and even to take a gasp of air! What is this? Talk about really messed up. I am so busy that I really don't want to start changing meds up right now so I will be more diligent and not miss a dose. But I tell you,...

Like most people here, I've been on tons of antidepressants and especially SSRIs because I have depression and anger issues. I was on Zoloft 200mg qd and it was pretty good but not perfect. PsychNP suggested Viibryd. Did a taper onto Viibyrd - I almost never get side effects but I definitely got the nausea and diarrhea. She hoped to have me at just 20mg qd but I was still slightly agitated, went to 30mg, still slightly agitated, went to 40mg and never got to a calming type dose like I can get with other SSRIs, was dizzy, and had horrible insomnia. For my brain, with depression and agitation/aggression, I give Viibryd a 0/10. Tough, slow taper up, painful on the way down. I am hightailing it back to Zoloft 200mg qd and hope for a quick transition away from the dizziness, insomnia and...

I have been on vibryd for about two months now. I have noticed hair loss and some diarrhea. With the diarrhea I have bloating and excessive gas to the point of not being able to control this. Needless to say, I limit my visits with this problem. I take 40MG tabs, so how would I start weaning this? Maybe every other day and then next week skip two days, and etc? i am a healthy 70 yr old and usually have no problems. Deaths of my husband, sister and brother in a 6 mts span started my going on this. ## Hi Pat, Due to the severe nature of withdrawals - In my honest opinion, it would probably be wise to discuss a tapering approach with your doctor that best suits your personal needs. I know that some medications may be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces ca...

I am so glad I found this forum, as I see I'm not the only one experiencing terrifying sleep paralysis, amongst other side effects. I have been on 20mg for about five weeks now, and am calling my doctor first thing in the morning to get off this medication immediately. Aside from three full weeks of heavy side effects (GI issues, increased Depression [I've never even had Depression!], vertigo, nausea, etc... I am now experiencing sleep paralysis, auditory hallucinations, irrational thoughts, nightmares and increased anxiety because of the sleep paralysis. I have suffered from GAD, and Panic Disorder for 15 years, and have been on various SSRI's/Benzodiazepines, and can assure you I have never, ever been this terrified of a medication in my life, nor have I EVER had such irra...

I have been on SSRIs for panic disorder for years and was recently switched from Lexapro 10mg to Viibryd 10mg. I have generally tolerated SSRIs pretty well aside from decreased libido and constant drowsiness. SNRIs have always worsened my anxiety. My doctor decided to try Viibryd because it is somewhat different from regular SSRIs and he thought it might work better for me. Anyway, I am on day 3 of the Viibryd and am having some side effects including increased heart rate with some "skips", trouble falling asleep, dizziness, muscle stiffness, and a little bit of increased anxiety at times. I also have a prescription for Klonopin which helps me get through some of these effects. I have not had any of the infamous nightmares or sleep paralysis episodes so far. Has anyone had any o...

Don't skip or miss a dose. I ran low and skipped a day and then cut a 40 mg tablet in 1/2. Did this with Prozac from time to time or missed a dose, never any issues. Additionally, I had a bad cold and added cold medicine, another big no no. I experienced night dreams, night paralysis, feeling of not being able to breath at night upon waking, terribly itch skin all over, coma feeling upon waking, confusion, loss of direction and extreme agitation. I took one 40 mg pill last night, all of the aforementioned symptoms subsided. I had to make several apologies at work today for my agitation just yesterday. My temperament returned to before, which was much improved on Viibyrd over Prozac. Good med, bad med, I am not sure. But with such improvement just getting my dosage back to where my d...

Here is good one. Most of these comments are exagerations and symptoms of problems, but I have been taking 40 mg ofViibryd for 2 years. The doctor I am working with has a nurse , who is pill counter. FACT. If you are disabled,on some kind of assistance, have a history of hypertension, anxiety, depression, you are immediately suspect. The assumption is everybody is junkie. I call for refill. I get a supply of a month. Nurse calls me back, and accuses me of hoarding pills, being indolent, stupid, and irresponsible, and a liar. Really?? End of story?? They say do not stop without consulting your doctor. NEVER TOLD ME THAT DOCTOR WOULD BE THE ONE SUDDENLY LEAVING YOU OUT THERE, WITHOUT REFILLS!!!. Gee. I feel better already. Never had any problem taking them, but this is my punishment for b...

I just picked up my sample pack of Vii, any recommendations on when the best time to take it is....morning or night and is with food a necessary need? Just a little nervous always am when trying something new....you would think I'd be used to it by now but side effects are NEVER fun but I'm hoping in the long run it's worth it. ## With SP I have found it is MUCH better to take before bed, IMO. Be sure to take with food! I would not skip or even be a few hours late between doses. This is one thing I am watching, besides caffeine intakes as the cause of sleep paralysis. Defintely do not skip. I know the half life is relatively short, but for me i think it could be a side effect if I skip or am late. ## It's really a matter of finding what works best for you. it may cause n...

Please let me know if you have had positive results on viibryd and your experience with it ## Hello, Theresa! How are you? In your other post, you said that you also suffer from anxiety, so I was curious to ask if you'd ever tried Prozac (Fluoxetine)? It can be used to treat anxiety and has successfully helped may people. Learn more Prozac details here. It's an SSRI, so it may cause the usual side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes.

Greetings, I just went to my doctor today and she is switching me from Celexa 20mg to Viibryd 40mg. I notice a lot of you have stated that you titrated the medication up to 40mg. My doctor is starting me off at 40mg and now I'm worried. I understand both Celexa and Viibryd are both SSRI's and maybe that is why she is starting me off so high!? But I take my first dose in the morning.. I'm kind of worried that I should be on the starter pack. Any suggestions? ## Hello, JustMe! How are you? Asking your doctor about it would be the only way to get a definitive answer, however, it is most likely that they are just trying to help you do a clean switch from one to other in order to prevent any withdrawal and rebound effects. Since you were already on one, there is a risk of such oc...

I have had varying degrees of depression for 25 years now. I have tried 6 or7 of the SSRI'S. Mostly Prozac. Most recently Zoloft. I have never found total relief of symptom with any of these meds. I am on day 6 of the starter pack. So far, so good! I will keep you posted! ## Viibryd is pretty much like most of the others, there are people that have good luck with it and those that don't. Learn more Viibryd details here. I certainly hope it works for you. What other classes of medications have you tried? ## Hi r u still on viibryd what was your experience thx
