Hello....I am 38 and have been dealing with a divorce that started before I started on Viibryd. I am now on my 25th day of the starter pack. I haven't really noticed too many of the side effects of everyone else. I have noticed a craving for sweets, which I am trying to stop because my Dr. has had me on adipex for weight gain from zoloft. I haven't really gained any weight from what I can tell thus far. I also haven't had any problems with stomach issues or headaches. I have noticed my sex drive come back however.... I am just hoping that this pill is going to work for me. I haven't really been able to notice anything different. Do you all think maybe I just need to wait a while longer to notice???? ## It can take approximately 4 to 6 weeks for the medication to reach it...

I have just finished my first wek of the starter pack. I actually already feel more motivation and energy. Now weaning off Cymbalta at 20 mg/day; also take Trazadone 100 mg 3 at bedtime. Have terrible sleep problems & the Trazadone has been wonderful for that; old drug and cheap...originally prescribed for depression, then people realized they were sleeping better than ever. Have had no real problems with Viibryd as yet. However, I have the Trazadone and take Codeine 30 mg twice a day. That probably has kept me from having the diarrhea most people experience. I have mixed connective tissue disease, fibromyalgia, severe arthritis, and osteoporosis. I am on my second hip replacement on the right, have a left ankle with plates & screws and my spine is fused from T11-L4 with rods et...

I started taking Viibryd approximately 6 months ago. Had a shaky start. Started with 10 mg and then went to 20 mg in a week. Had bouts of intense rage. Couldn't control my anger. The abdominal cramping and diarrhea were no help either. Went back down to 10 mg and stayed there for over a month. Went up to 15 mg for a few months and then to 20 mg. As a whole, Viibryd didn't do much for my depression but did wonders for my anxiety. Unfortunately it also gave me intense sugar cravings and I gained 15 pounds regardless of the amount I exercised/dieted. I am currently on 6 of NO Viibryd. I weaned down as instructed by my physician but I'm going through HELL. I am so dizzy that I am taking a motion sickness pill. I am having problems walking due to the dizziness and have actually f...

Hello I was on effexor xr 75 mg for 5 years then went to celexa 20mg for a month. Then decided to go cold turkey lasted 2 months. Psychiatrist put me on 20mg of prozac which almost drove me crazy lasted 2 weeks. Then started viibryd 10mg for 2 weeks felt really dizzy and wobbly on my legs.. I also feel when I close my eyes I'm on a rocking boat. I'm currently on 5mg i got changed psychiatrist and he mentioned viibryd is not on his list of medications so I might be switched again. Part of me feels like it could still be withdrawals from effexor... any help would be greatly appreciated ## Hello, Henry! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the problems that you've been having. After several months, you shouldn't be experiencing withdrawals from the Effexor, they don...

if you received the little package with a 30 day supply with the 10mg for 7 days, then the 20mg for 7, then the 40mg as your introduction to the medication? if you can just reply around the date or so. Im currently on the medication and finished my 30 day supply and on my first filled script. been on it for about 5 weeks and have to say feel 100% times better then day one. Not 100% better in general but 100% better then day one. so i am hopeful and I hope its the medication doing work and with stay stable. Back to the point. I have never been or seen free sample pills given from the doctor. i have gotten vouchers to hand the pharmacist. Is that normal on the regular with many antidepressants and stuff in that category of drugs? iv seen like heartburn and antacid samples but never physio...

Today is my first day reducing Viibryd after being on 40mg/day for 9 mths. The therapeutic dose of this anti-anxiety medication has me suffering panic attacks that can be set off by any sudden sound or movement, however normal, like the phone ringing, a car honking, the buzz of a lawn mower, etc. It's as if my mind cannot figure out where the sound is coming from or what it is, and the result of a simple something that doesn't seem to phase anyone else alarms my mind into bracing every muscle to fight for my life, only there's no danger. My 'coming to' and seeing in these situations that I am the only one in a panic ready to defend myself from a physical attack that is not going to take place then reduces me from a warrior braced for battle into a gasping for air hea...

Medicare decided to cut me off this drug. Pharmacist working on it. Day 3 I NEVER want to feel this again. Not sure if I ever want to take this drug again as there are going to be problems with refills FOREVER! ## Hello, MN Loon! How are you? You may want to speak to your doctor about trying a different antidepressant. Many are available as generics, so Medicare usually covers them and, even if it doesn't, they are very cheap if you have to pay cash. Have you tried any of the others, or is this the first? How are you feeling? Have your symptoms eased up, yet?

I've been on Viibryd for awhile along with klonopin, neurotin, adderall. Abilify was just added because I still felt depressed. I now have severe hip pain. I'm on my feet for my job 13.5 hours three days in a row a week. I thought it was the floors even though I wear a good shoe with a doctor made insole for a high arch. The problem is that the pain doesn't go away. Is it my meds? I'm only 45. ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you feeling? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. Yes, the Abilify can cause aches and pains, as a side effect, in some people that take it. If it's interfering with your ability to work, you may just need to switch to a different medication. Have you had any other side effects, such as fatigue, dizziness, tremor or hoarseness?

There's so many scary posts written here that I just wanted to share my own experience so that those considering Viibryd know it can be a positive benefit. My wife of 20 years let me know that she wanted to leave me, I dealt with it fine for a while but then went into deep depression and had severe anxiety that prevented me from sleeping for 4 days. My doctor prescribed Viibryd for my "situational depression". It took 3 days to kick in, but once it did I started feeling much more like my old self. I was still feeling depression, but able to handle it. After 7 days I went up to 20 mg per the regular schedule and wow, I feel like my old self, but even better! I'm more positive than I've been in a long time, find it easier to laugh, and am no doubt much more pleasant to...

So I have been on Viibryd since the summer of 2012. The first few weeks were awful as my body adjusted- little sleep, nauseous constantly, diarrhea- but I knew that could be the case. I worked my way through the pack to 40mg and have been there ever since. I have been on so many meds I've lost track of them all. I have bipolar type 2, which means I am depressed almost all the time with occasional manic episodes. Before adding Viibryd, I had been on Abilify only. Now I take both as well as Klonopin when needed. I felt I had found my life saver with Viibryd!! I was myself for the first time in years: no depression, no crying spells, just me. This wonderful drug had saved me. Or so I thought.... after about a year, I hit a rough patch. It was the anniversary of my father's suicide ...

I have been on 40 mg of Viibryd for 2 weeks now. Dreams every night as well. Not all nightmares but quite a few. I am still struggling massively with depression and anxiety. Panic attacks. I severely hate having to go to public places. I have lots of trouble focusing driving too. And my temper is severely scary. I snap so fast. Scared where my life is headed. ## I'm still not right. I used to be so happy and outgoing. Now i panic having to go places. Any little thing that goes wrong or a sudden change in my routine just screws my head up. Then I cannot think. I wonder if Viibryd is right for me or should I ask about Prozac? Paxil was no help either. I just want my life back. Want to be happy again. I have noticed no help with my panic attacks either. ## Hello, Ace! How are you doing...

I have been on viibryd for one pack. I just refilled the 40 for the.next time. At the beginning it was good until I got to 40.now all I do is cry all day long every day. I pray and pray for the crying to go away. I want off viibryd asap. What is the best wayto go?. I could taper a little or a lot because I haven't been on it that long. And then just stay on the Xanax. What does anyone think? ## Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. Although I would personally suggest that your doctor be the one who monitors you...

I have been on Viibryd (40 mg) for 6 months and for the last three weeks I have not slept more than one or two hours per night. I do not drink or smoke. My doctor started me off on 15 mg's of melatonin, when that did not work she prescribed Ambien. The Ambien has not worked. I have tried taking Zzzquil, Tylenol PM's and even Benedryl, but nothing at all works. I am frustrated all the time because I can not sleep. I have noticed that the medication is not working anymore, but I expected that the third night that I was not able to sleep. Does anyone have any suggestions? ## That is very unusual, because medications in this class usually cause somnolence and drowsiness. Learn more Viibryd details here. What other antidepressants have you tried? My suggestion would be to talk to you...

I just started my Viibryd trial pack. I'm in the 5th day. I wouldn't call myself seriously depressed, but my doctor gave me this because Wellbutrin was giving me a headache daily. I do not have a prescription yet. My question is: Why go to a dose of 40mg. if you feel good on 20 or 10mg.? I could see going higher if less isn't doing it for you. What's the normal dose? ## I'll add to my own post. I'm now about 2 weeks into the trial pack. I did not go up to the 20mg., but broke them in half. I will not up it until I need to. I called my Dr. and asked for a 90 day script for the 20mg, which I will break in half. I do get a slight headache sometimes. I take Imitrex and it takes it away. I've been fooling around with the time I take it. I'm now taking it with ...

I was on Vibryd about 10 months but recently lost my job and decided to get off the medication. Went to my doc and told him I wanted off the medication. He advised that I finish my pills with taking one every other day. What a roller coaster but hated to go to sleep because I had such hallucinations like I was on mushrooms but a very bad feeling. Now I'm on day three but woke up without a headache and finally felt myself. So glad to feel something again. I had never taken any antidepressants before. I did feel hungry every night so hopefully I'll be feeling better. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. It was very hard with the withdrawals that I had never experienced before. God bless ## Hello, Laura! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about what you've been through. The with...

I started Viibryd a week ago and have been experiencing severe back pain and my feet are tender. Has anyone experienced this? Also, Im experiencing dizziness, fullness in my ears and agitation. Immediate relief came for me upon taking my first 10 mg dose. My mood lifted and I feel more engergized and motivated. Can I take a multi vitamin and fat burner pill with viibryd? Im ready to resume my fitness routine. Thanks for your responses. ## I'm very sorry about the side effects that you're experiencing. However, most of them should resolve in about 4 to 6 weeks, once your body gets used to the medication. If they do not, then you may need to try an alternative drug. A multivitamin usually isn't a problem, unless your doctor says that you shouldn't take one. However, which ...

rash on face, cheeks and forehead ## Just finished my third week on Viibryd been on 40 mgs for four days and now have a red rash on my face. Should I stop taking it? ## It may be the sign of an allergic reaction, but since it's isolated to your face, it's difficult to say. Have you contacted your doctor? That would be the best thing to do, so you can discover if it's due to the medication or something else. You can learn more Viibryd details here. ## I have a dr appt on friday. Don't know what to try if he takes me off this. ## I have been on Viibryd since Aug 23 2012. I am weaning off the Viibryd now after seeing a dermatologist and making the connection of starting the Viibryd, then itching. (This is a bit long but please read it!) Long story short: Ive been a long term sufferer of panic disorder and agoraphobia. Been homebound 3 times in my life. Been on several different medications over the years. Was prescribed Celexa about 7 years ago and while it wasnt perfect for fixing my problem it came close. I was able to marry, start a successful business and live a pretty normal life! Fast forward to around last November. I started having problems with having panic attacks, panic type feelings when out. This got worse and eventually I started feeling sick and having attacks at home and in the night. This went on and got worse and worse until this past April when I finally bit the bullet and when into the my Dr. At that point I was shaking uncontrollably and completely eat up wi...

Correlation is not causation, as we all know, but my hair has thinned dramatically in the year or more I've been taking Viibryd. I'm at that age (45) but never had an issue before nor does male pattern baldness run in my family. I never found hair falling out, just seems like every hair I do have has gotten thinner. I assume I must have lost some hair too, but none in the sink or pillow. Not sure where it went, but it's going somewhere! I'm about to cross-taper to something else, it'll be interesting to see if it comes back. I'll try to remember to come back and let you know... ## Hello, Dave! How are you? This has actually been reported by a lot of people that take it, but it seems many have experienced a reversal upon discontinuing it. Is this the only medicati...

Have been on Viibryd for almost a month. Dr. having me top out at 20mg for now, so cutting 40mg in half. Initial stomach bowel problems solved by taking in the morning with toast/banana or steel cut oatmeal. My problem is that my anxiety level has shot a ton higher recently. Normal risks/worries with work becoming obsession like. I went on this drug b/c of one particular event at work that I was obsessing over. Now I am waking up at 4am, not able to fall back asleep, with thoughts running through multiple work related problems. Has anyone's Dr. kept them at 10mg ? or switched them from 20mg to 10mg and stayed there longer term ? Trying to figure out if 10mg is right for me or if that's not realistic and Viibryd is just not the right drug for my anxiety. See my Doc this week. ## ...
