Can I take .25 Xanax 20 minutes after taking 20mg of viibrdy? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check to be sure. Have they both been prescribed for you? The FDA warns that Xanax carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

36 year old female, 2 kids(5 yrs. & 10 mos.) Had terrible post pardum depression and anxiety attacks. This medicine has helped me tremendously over the last 7 months BUT now my hair is falling out like crazy. Every time I wash my hair I lose like 20-30 strands. It is not as healthy as at was and much thinner. I started taking a women's multivitamin and a biotin supplement to help but I guess I am gonna have to call my psychiatrist and switch to another medication. Sucks because I don't want to have to deal with the emotional rollercoaster of adjusting to a new med. Anyone else seen the hair loss stop or does it just continue on this medication?? ## Hello, Apearson! How are you? Yes, others have also reported the alopecia from taking Viibryd and no, it doesn't seem to sto...

My family physician prescribed 80 mg of Viibryd every day. Was this safe? ## Hello, Penny! How are you? The target dose is usually anywhere from 20mgs to 40mgs a day, with it being slowly titrated up, however, there are some conditions that may warrant a higher dosage. What condition is being treated? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and weight changes.

I have taken Effexor XR for many years-it stopped working, so I weaned myself off and took nothing since this past July. I do take Xanax 1mg 3xday. Well-Life took a left turn on me and started on Viibryd. Bad Move! I'm very sensitive to meds-I took the 10 mg for 3 days and cut it down to 5mg for 2 weeks. I did 2 days of 2.5 then stopped. My Dr put me on 3mg Xanax ER ( per my request) and here's what's happening. No viibryd for 3 days now and I have TERRRIBLE nightmares and sleep in what feels like clips. The Xanax I guess is wearing off while I'm sleeping and I am Miserable!! Anyone know how long it takes to get viibryd out of your system?? Any experiences with Xaxax ER? I'm not sure which one is doing the most harm. Help please!!! ## Hello, Shari! How are you doing?...

Is.it best to take viibryd in the morning when I wake up? Or at night before I sleep? I switched my brintellix for this viibryd monthly taper dose. Days 1-7,10mg; Days 8-14, 20mg; Days 15-30, 40mg. I know to take with food for best result. But what time of day is best time to ensure I get the best happy feeling! Thanks so much, Junie Hicks ## Hello, Junie! How are you? These types of medications won't actually provide you with a happy feeling, that's not how they work. As to when to take it, that is entirely up to you. You can try taking it in the morning, with breakfast and if it causes too much drowsiness, you may want to switch to taking it at night, unless your doctor instructed otherwise. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, ...

Im now on my 6th day of the 40mg of viibryd. Im using the starter pack like everyone else. I'm on viibryd for OCD so since starting the 40mg I have noticed a decrease in obsessive thoughts. At first the 10 mg and 20mg made my obsessive thoughts worse but now at the therapeutic dose I can feel like I'm slowly getting better. Only side effects I've gotten is increased bowel movements, extremely vivid dreams and some lethargy which is good if your OCD and your always obsessing. I feel confident that this medicine will work and I might even ask to go up to 60mg just so my OCD can be manageable. ## hi, Steve! I'm very glad that the Viibryd is working for you and you also have a fantastic attitude! It's great of you to post about your positive experience, far too many time...

Hello everyone, I wanted to open up a thread here to see if anyone has experience with combining Viibryd with Effexor. Does anyone have experience with this? ## Hello, Ade8! How are you? Generally, these two would not be considered safe to combine, because they both have effects on serotonin and if the levels of it in the brain are elevated too much, it can cause serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal. Has your doctor told you to take them both? Usually, in the case of resistant conditions of depression, anxiety or other mental health issues, different classes of medications are combined to bring it under control. ## Hi Verwon, I'm good. Thanks for asking. I have been reading about some different SSRIs that have been combined with SNRIs successfully, such as Effexor and Paxil. Howev...

I have tried several anti-depressants and have yet to feel better. Started with Xanax years ago but only took it for a little while. Didn't take anything for 20 years. Now within the last two years I have tried Effexor, prozac, welbutrin and now viibryd. Only been on it for 3 weeks and still feel crappy. Mood is ok but so fatigued that I about can't go. I had an episode 9/13 where I became unresponsive and then was just in and out. I felt drugged and numb. Had weened off prozac and started viibryd. After spending 4 hrs in ER and having blood and urine evaluated and X-rays the dr said he thinks it may have been a reaction because of prozac was still in system. I actually thought I was going to die. I really don't believe the way I feel has anything to do with medication. Oh w...

Pychiastrist put me on this "great new drug" when I was going through a rough patch. Had been on Paxil for 6 years. Took 6 months to get off that drug. Fast forward 4 years on Viibryd and it's simply not working. Began weaning off, first round did the tapering down 40-20-10 in one week intervals. What a nightmare each time I went one level down I thought I was dying. The headaches, brain zaps, itching, fatigue, everything. Got down to 10 stopped taking it... After four days I was down for the count, I was sure I had lost my mind. Couldn't get up, just getting a glass of water was a big deal. Doctor put me back on the 10 mg and trying a different way to taper down, now it's one every other day, then one every 3 days. Needless to say, the brain zaps a gone, but the itc...

Help! I have been on Viibryd, 20mg since Oct 2013. At first it made a wonderful improvement in my mdd, then in Jan - May 2014, I noticed I'd been having horrid headaches with severe neck and should pain. PCP ordered PT. Didn't help. May 19th,2014 I weaned from 20 to 10 mg dosage. The head and neck pain went away after two days, but then was hit with extreme pain in lower spine, along with terrible side affects. rapid heartbeat, very low bp, faintness, nausea, weakness. I continued on with the bad side affects and finally after 2 wks. saw an improvement. 6/8/14 decreased from 10 to 5 mg. I have been exp. the rapid heart beats some today, anxiety issues, but want to desperately get off this medicine. It is the worst anti-depressant I have ever been on. First anti-dep. was prozac in...

I was on zoloft 150MG I have been on it for 10 years didn't seem to be working as well so switched to celexa it made things worse. So then put on viibryd been on it almost 6 wks I am having more anxiety and very emotional cry a lot over little things does this get better ## Hello, Tammy! How are you? IF it's been 6 weeks, then this one likely isn't working for you, either. Typically, it should reach its full therapeutic effect in your body between 4 to 6 weeks and that's when you should start to see improvement. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, anxiety, dry mouth and weight changes. Have you contacted your doctor? You'll likely need to switch to another medication.

I have been switching from an SNRI (nefazadone) to Viibryd and also take Wellbutrin. Today I got to the point in the taper where I took Viibryd (20mg) + my Wellbutrin w/o my old medicine. I have this strange sort of anxious feeling...almost like restlessness but I don't feel like I have to move... its like energy sitting on me, or running through my extremities... As I type this I know it sounds freaky weird but I can't exactly describe this feeling. It's an anxious sort of feeling, like there is something I should be doing but forgot, but I am having fear; mood is sort of flat or spaced out. Has anyone experienced anything like this? ## Hello, Shanni! How are you? I'm not on the same medications, but yes, I have experienced this with the one I'm taking. I'm on P...

I've been on Viibryd for about 2 years now, I think? I started on 10mg, then went up to 20, then 40. At first the side affects were bad--EXTREME dizziness, mood swings, some nausea...but all around no worse than Lexapro side affects...maybe even fewer side affects than with Lexapro. (I was told Viibryd was the "newer bumped up version" of Lex) Anyhow--I am now tapering down to get off the Viibryd as I feel it's not working for me. I just feel stagnant, no better, no worse. Maybe worse? I'm not sure and can't tell until I'm off it I guess. I knew the withdrawal would not be fun. I've been tapered by my Dr. from 40mg for two weeks, to 20mg for two weeks, and now 10mg for two weeks. I am on day 3 of 10 mg, and last night i was a moody/crying/depressive/exhau...

I'm new to this forum. I have had anxiety and panic attacks for almost 40 years but fought it fairly well until Depression crept in about 10 years ago. Like most here, I've tried just about every antidepressant known but they either did nothing or the anxiety got out of control. My PCP suggested Viibryd as it works slightly different than other SSRIs. I started the sample pack at 10mg per day for one week, then got part way through week 2 but it made me sleep long hours and my anxiety went haywire. I stopped it and started preparing for TMS. Funny thing was that a couple days after stopping Viibryd, I felt as good as I had in quite awhile. This only lasted for a few days and I started feeling crappy again, no energy, no drive. I started Viibryd again and the exact sequence reocc...

My doctor just took me off viibryd (and 1 mg of Abilify) and put me back on Zoloft (which I had been on for years prior). I gained 20 pounds and was still really depressed and anxious on the viibryd/Abilify. My concern is that he didn't wean me off the viibryd. It's only been 2 days and I am so itchy!! I want to itch my face off and I am so irritable too.. Super b****y and agitated with everything and everyone. Has anyone quit viibryd cold turkey and gone to Zoloft? ## Hello, Mel! How are you? I'm very sorry about how you're feeling. You are most likely experiencing withdrawal effects, as well as side effects from starting the Zoloft. It may take a few weeks for things to settle back down and improve. The FDA classifies Zoloft as an SSRI and its typical side effects may ...

If an antidepressant is going to work do you feel better just one day or is it gradual relief please let me know ## I believe it's a little of both. You do feel pretty good right away (usually after the first 24 hrs), and if you are on the RIGHT med that helps you. And it also gradually helps by increasing your mood the more you continue to take it. Until you feel "normal" for your standards. Hope it helps. And good luck to you. ## Thank you for the response, Amy! Much appreciated! Hello, Theresa! How are you doing? Some information that I'd like to add that many people aren't aware of, when it comes to psychiatrically active medications, is that sometimes they can also make things worse, before they get better. When first starting a new one, or increasing the dosage...

Unexpected amount of Rage. I wanted to hurt someone very badly. I have never experienced Rage like this before, and I have struggled with Depression and PTSD for over 30 years. Nothing else in my life has changed except being changed to Viibryd. Nothing related to my PTSD triggered the rage. It came suddenly, unexpectedly and today (the next day), I'm exhausted and sore. I'm assuming from all the adrenaline that was running throughout my body. ## I've been taking Viibryd 40 mg for 7 weeks. I got through the loose stools side effect stage. It finally started working a little, except for the RAGE. It's really scary. I'm stopping starting tomorrow and going back to a regular SSRI like Lexapro. ## I find it really interesting how a medication that's being marketed fo...

Hi everyone can anyone help me My doc recommended me to take only two weeks a month the starter pack of vybird im all ready on wellbirtin 300 / day i m very hesitant to do it like this does anyone tried vybird this way ## Hello, Nana! How are you? I haven't taken it myself, but I am aware of some doctors using it that way. They may recommend this for various reasons, to give someone a boost during a particularly bad time period, or sometimes for women who suffer bad hormonal fluctuations for a couple weeks each month. I understand your concern over taking multiple medications, even for just a couple weeks, but many people require more than one, to get their conditions under control, they should just make sure they are being monitored by their doctors on a regular basis. The FDA list...

I have suffered from anxiety/depression prob my whole life. I just dealt with it as i did not know much about mental health. I just thought it was life. of course that was not good because its easy to deal when in high school because few to no real responsibilities. Very scary to go to a crowed campus for college with anxiety/depression then you stop going and your parents and peers think its just you and it gets worse etc… I have tried many antidepressants and none have worked or gave me even a feeling of something different except some zombie effects. i just stuck to the typical narcotic medication xanax and adderall. xanax was to help the physical symptoms of my anxiety ex. stiff muscles, just stiff everything, and adderall for the can't think, fatigue etc.. but those medica...

i have been on viibryd since the middle of july. my doctor only wanted me on 20mg. gave me the starter pack. was feeling great, but then after time i noticed that my anxiety in the morning when i woke up was enormous. i felt like i had to take the viibryd immediately to get it in my system. the anxiousness was overwhelming. called my doctor and he suggested to take 10mg in the morning and 10mg with dinner. started that today and feel a little better. the nightmares on viibryd have been disturbing. dreams of being in a plane crash seemed so real that when i woke up i was screaming. hoping that this all goes away or i am off this medicine in 2 weeks. i wish i stayed feeling good on it as i did in the beginning. the only medicine that ever worked for me was paxil cr (extended release), how...
