The 240mg sustained release Verapamil capsules manufactured by Watson Pharmaceuticals should be dark blue and yellow, with the marking 60275/240mg on them.

If this doesn't match yours, please post back with the markings from it and I can check for you to discover what it contains.

Verapamil is a calcium channel blocker that is commonly used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions.

Chris, the same thing happened to me when I picked up my medication yesterday. I receive my medication from Walmart pharmacy and the pharmacist told me that they have recently changed pharmaceutical companies to a Glenmark Generics. Because they now use a different company, the pill looks different, but he assured me it was the same. Hopefully so.......

Chris, that is a controlled release, 240mg Verapamil tablet that is manufactured by Glenmark Generics.

The same thing happened to me...only I got mine refilled at Sam's Club. I'm relieved to hear that it is just a manufacturing change. (color change from oblong white to oblong putty colored)

The last time I had my verapamil ER, slow release refilled at Walmart the pills were rather large white pills. The helper ~note I did not say pharmacist. How ever they said they had to go to a new drug supplier too and my 90 day refill of the verapamil ER would be $167.00. 3 months ago when they filled it, it was $47.95!! I have just now called another pharmacy!! and they told me a 3 month supply of verapamil ER would be $37.12. I mean gee wiz?? The pharmacist at walmart when I called her back ~I insisted on speaking to a pharmacist, she also looked it up and said a 90 day supply of verapamil would be $167.00. I told her that was ridiculous and I was going to have it transferred to another pharmacy ~ she replied " Suit your self " So I suggest if you think your meds are WAY to high try calling around and checking prices else where! God Bless all of us!

I changed my pharmacy and the prescription was over $200! I had a NJ PADD program so I did not have to pay that but I recall that it was about $46.00 when it was Calan SR. Then I had the generic and all was o.k. -- it was increased in dosage to 240 and that was a blue oblong pill. Now with G74 I guess I am unable to use this drug?
Never had side effects. Now after 2 days with this new 240 G74 pill, my hands are itching and red, so is part of my abdomen and my scalp. I had slow urine for about 3 months. Doctor did not correlate this but I told her I also have a very rapid heart beat that keeps me awake. No concern by the doctor. I had blurred vision for at least 6 months and use a magnifying glass to see things like my prescription label -- this is a new problem. he most upsetting problem is the terrible depression that has gotten worse and worse. She prescribed an anti-depressant but now that continues to make me throw up. I have terrible fatigue. Never had any of these things until 2012. Now, with the itching and the new G74 pill I have seen the side effects on the Internet. I just turned 69 and I took Calan SR for years for migraine. Now I have hypertension. The dosage was increased to 240 in 2011.

I too just got a 90 day supply of Verapamil which I've been taking for about 40 years ---- has always been white. Today the oblong tablet is baby blue. I mail order from Kaiser in Portland. I've read here of people getting a color change also -- I'm a bit spooked.

Thanks for this website

I have been taking Verapamil Er 240 tablets for 25 years. The have always been small green tabs currently made by Apotex. My last 90 day refill was a larger oblong browm pill made by Glenmark. I noticed withing days I didn't feel as well and my BP was somewhat elevated. The pharmacist told me it might take some time to get used to the new brand. No change after two months. The next refill I requested the Apotex brand and within days again I felt better and BP was back to normal. Great. Then yesterday I get a call telling me the Apotex brand was no longer available. My only option with them was the Glenmark tab or an Er capsule made by Watson? Another option would be to try to find another Pharm that has Apotex tabs. I am afraid that the capsule may not work just like the Glenmark tab. What a pain.

My Pharm found another option for me which was a 240 er tablet made by Mylan which is a blue pill. I have been taking them for two weeks now and they seem to work as well as the one made by Apotex.

Today I took a prescription to Wal-Mart to be filled, which I use Verapamil ER240.When I opened the bottle my pills where a dirty brown looking color, oblong in shape; instead of a white round pill. I thought I had the wrong medication I stared not to take the but I need them because I haven't taken a pill in 3-4 months. When I go back to the doctor I want him to change my prescription.

I take Verapamil HCL ER 240 mg cap (Watson) for high blood pressure, and it worked great. Two months ago my pharmacy began to deliver Verapamil 240 mg manufacturer Mylan( color blue) . I noticed the elevated blood pressure . Is it possible that this new (for me) Verapamil doesn't work?

This thread has been so helpful. My mom is on Verapamil 240mg ER and hers were blue pills manufactured by Mylan. She mail orders through her insurance and this time she received a rusty brown pill by Glenmark. A couple of hours after taking it, she felt nauseous and she complained that her head felt very heavy. She then had chills and vomiting. She’s convinced there is a difference between the two pills. I thought it was all in her head but now I feel badly. Your posts appear to corroborate her concerns.
