I have multiple gallstones and pancreatitis. I have been advised by doctor to take Ursetor 300 twice daily. Can I breastfeed?

I've found several places listing this in their products guide and categories, but I cannot find any details on what it contains and/or what it is used for.

Do you have any other information on it?

Have you spoken to your doctor about breastfeeding while you are using it?

What country are you in?

i am in india.it contains ursodeoxycholic acid. i was given this tablet as i have multiple gall stones of 3-5mm in diameter. i have been having gallstones for the past 6months. i get pain in my upper abdomen which extends to the back. the pain persists for about 7hrs. and the relief is abrupt.each doctor's opinion seems to differ. one doctor says that the pain is due to pancreatitis and the other says that it is due to gallstones. i have lost about 6kgs in 1.5 months. please help.

Thank you for posting back with the information, it is much appreciated and will be beneficial to others in the future.

Now, as to your problem, this site is not medical professionals, but it is well-known that gall bladder problems can affect the Pancreas and cause Pancreatitis.

And from personal experience, I can tell you that it is not gall stones that cause that rapid weight loss.

That is normally caused by Pancreatitis, because when it is malfunctioning, your food doesn't get properly digested, large amounts of fat cause it to slow down, so you're not getting the calories or fat that your body needs.

I am a very tiny woman, I have just naturally never been very big, but when I had Pancreatitis and it was misdiagnosed for years, I was very much down to looking like a skeleton, before I finally ended up in a hospital that figured out what it was.

Once I learned to eat properly, to help control it, I finally put the proper amount of weight back on and look human, again.

You really have to eat a well-balanced diet and keep it as low in fat as possible. Lots of fruits, vegetables and fiber are all easy on the pancreas and help provide the calories and nutrients you need, without overworking it.

You also need to stay away from alcohol, as it can irritate the Pancreas and cause another flare-up.

Another thing I have found that helps is the herbal supplement Evening Primrose Oil, it is a natural anti-inflammatory, that can help with pain and help prevent further flare-ups.

Like I said, I am not a medical professional, just speaking from everything that I have had to learn the hard way for the past year.

I am hoping that maybe some of this information can help you, a little.

The radiating pain to the back from the upper abdomen is also a sign of Pancreatitis.

I still get an occasional flare-up, but nowhere as severe as those that landed me in the hospital and the pain usually lasts only for a few hours, as most. So, eating better and being more careful can definitely help.

You can also pick up over the counter supplements of the digestive enzymes that the Pancreas secretes and take those to help your food digest and relieve a little of its work load.
