Trioptal Side Effects

I had a attack of epilepsy@ 8 years back. Earlier i was taking eptoin and now i am taking trioptal 300, 2.5 tabs/day. since last 5 years. My major concern is lack of concentration and memory loss. I um unable to recall major events happened in recent past. i also tend to forget roads,persons travelled/met recently
Some times i get blank and talks incoherently. [once in six months]

Trioptal contains the active ingredient Oxcarbazepine, which is an anticonvulsant and yes, there has been evidence that shows it can cause problems similar to what you're experiencing.

Hello My 4 years daughter had here first epilepsy attack in Apr'13 (when she was 3 years and 6 months old).

She is taking Trioptal. 5ml of Trioptal contains 300ms of Oxcarbazepine IP.

She started with 3ml/day which was gradually increased to 4ml/day (two times 2ml each in a day). Her weight at the time of starting medicine was 14kg.

She has here second epilepsy attack in Aug'13 and doctor increased her dose to 7.5ml/day (2.5ml three times each in a day). Here weight is now 17kgs.

Our problem is that she has started gaining weight after starting this medicine. She has put on 3 kg in 5 months which is clearly visible from her hands, face and other body parts.

I am having one male son with3yrs 9 months old. He is having speech delay,consulted several doctors MRI and other suggested exams done, results not showing any problems, they try to rule out autism. some one suggested speech therapy,occupation therapy and individual education programs etc..now we are continuing that,we guardians feeling is he is not having much eye contact(he will draw pictures)he will sit nearby when we teach 45 minutes.his health wise is good and having weight 15 kg.now one pediatric psychiatrist suggested after the consultation just start medicine Trioptal (oxccarbazepine) liquid 1 mil in the night9course one bottle)we are little worried to give medicine,want to know is it advisable or having any any problems will affect my boy.please give advice to me.i am very gratitude to you people.thank you.expecting your replay soon

my friend is taking trioptal from last 3 yrs and would cntinue it for 2 more years . so i wanted to know what problems will he face. he takes 2 medicines in morning and 1 at night

I hv a problem of epilepsy and getting seizurs. The dose of my medicine is very strong. I m taking 750 mg of trioptal and 750 mg of keppra in the morning and 600 mg of trioptal, 750 mg of keppra and 5 mg of frizium at night. What wiil be the effects of these all medicines on my health.

Hello ,I HV a daughter who is 4 yes old HD her first epilepsy attack two years back she's been changed from medicine tegrital to trioptal since Nov 2014 still she gets convulsion once in a month,how is it with ur child does the medicine sute her do she recover on her own while she has convulsion or u HV togv her midas spray,does she HV any difficulty in school?
