I have been on Trilipix for a month now. My first 2 weeks were hard on my body, and had to get use to the meds. I was dizzy a little, had light cramps but that is all gone now. Going to go for blood work soon, if my levels are down I'm going to ask my doctor to take me off so I can try on my own to keep Trigits down. I have heard a lot about this med being bad for your liver. ## Common side effects from Trilipix (Fenofibrate) include liver problems, breathing problems, abdominal pain, muscle problems, and nausea. Serious side effects may include toxic epidermal necrolysis, rhabdomyolysis, gallstones, and pancreatitis. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.

My husband has been on Trilipix DR for approx 6 months. About a month ago,he experienced a sudden temporary memory loss that lasted several hours. He was the hospital overnight and a battery of test all proved normal. His chlorestrol was elevated and the hospital Dr increased the Trilipix Dr to 135 mg. He developed severe headaches and extreme fatigue. We called the Dr and he decreased the med but symptoms continued. He finally stopped the Trilipix completely .After reading reviews from several sites, I now believe the memory loss may have been a build up of Trilipix in his system. Has anyone on this site had this type of side effect? ## I have been on Tripilix for five days now. I don't have the headache but I notice I keep getting a painful, stiff neck. Also, I have not slept at a...

I was told that I had failed or had a incomplete on a urine test for a job. I'm not sure what COC test is, the only drugs I take are prescribed. Here is the list: Trilipix, vytorin, lovaza, lisinopril, baby aspirin, enbrel injection, metformin, victoza injection, synthroid, klor-con, lyrica, tramadol, lithium carbonate ER, trazodone, seroquel xr,hydroxyzine Pam, cipro, and phenazopyridine hydrochloride. Help could any of these cause me to fail? ## It would really be helpful if we knew what they meant by that, as in what you failed for, or what they mean by an incomplete. Did they provide you with any other details? There are many medications that can cause false positives, such as the Trazodone you are taking, it has been known to cause false positives for LSD and amphetamines. Did ...

Have you discussed it with them? Hairloss is not a listed side effect of this medication, are you on anything else that may be causing it? ## Yes he knows. I have been taking this medication for 5 years. In the past 5 years I have been to neurologists, rheumatologists, chiropractors, physical therapy, accupuncture, MRI's and the list goes on and on. I have been told I have all kinds of things wrong something different from every doctor. The pain in all my joints especially hips and back and neck was so bad my muscles would quiver and I would be nauses. I was so fatigued and agited with even my family due to the pain - it made me a different person, I slept but not well I could not imagine living another 10 yrs and I am only 43. Never thought it was the trilipix I quit taking it and its all gone within 2 weeks. ## Oh yeah I forgot: yes my hair is falling out it is half as thick as it used to be and very unhealthy and no its not just ove...

Taking 135 mg per day - got cough, cold, sneezing and sore throat. Seems I noticed ED also - I stopped the medicine - I am looking for a better alternative. ## Hello, Sam! How are you? Unfortunately, this is usually the best choice that causes the least amount of side effects. The other options are statin medications, which tend to cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches, as listed by the FDA. How long were you taking it?

I had been taking 135mg Trilipix for several years, before being prescribed Fenofibric acid. Now, I have been informed by my Medicare Part D, ( for prescription meds ) provider that, beginning January 1, 2015, Fenofibric acid will no longer be on their formulary, and that I either must find a suitable substitute, or stop taking the medication altogether...OR, find a different Part D provider. The latter is not really an alternative for me, only due to the fact that my provider carries every other medication that I am prescribed, ( 17 of them altogether ), in their formulary. At the present time, I have not asked my primary care physician about a suitable substitue. WHY should I? From everything that I have been reading about Fenofibric acid, OR Trilipix, one should not be taking the med...

Trilipix 135 worked for me, but I dropped it after abbive stopped their pap. In 4 months I will know if fenofibric 35 is working in combination with Lipitor 80. ## Hello, Bill! How are you? The Fenofibric Acid is the same thing, it's the generic for Trilipix, but that is the actual active ingredient in it, so it should also work for you. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, back pain, diarrhea, headache and skin rash. Lipitor is a statin medication and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks. I am on fenofibric 35 and Atorvastatin 80, Lipitor. I'll be get my lab work this Summer, 2015. My only neg. has been HDL, so hopefully it'll work w...

I need to be able to afford this medicine, but even with my insurance it is very expensive. ## Hello, Claudia! How are you? Abbott does have a patient assistance program to help people get this medication, if they qualify. I'm not sure, however, what all the requirements are, but you can call them for more information at 800-222-6885. The FDA lists Trilipix as being used to help lower cholesterol. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches. Is there anything else I can help with?

I need to know and am afraid to use treatment until I hear from someone.I have had no problems with Trilipix and have been taking for a year. small leg cramps now and then but that is it. ## Hello, Don! How are you? Yes, a topic product should be fine, because you don't really absorb much of it to react with your medication. You may have some scalp burning and irritation from the lice treatment, though. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I went through a drug rehab program for meth amphetamine. After I stopped using I continued to test positive for amphetamines. After further review the lab came back and advised that Trilipix was the culprit. and everything was ok. Now, I'm in a legal matter relating to meth amphetamines.....I provided this lab with the verbal information I had been given in the past. They say it is not true. Yet, when I stop taking trilipix I test negative. Please help me.

Trilipix I was on for 2 weeks and I broke out in hives from head to toe. My doc. told me it was the worst he has ever seen. My blood sugar was real high and my creatine and bun was high. This was the sickest I have ever been in my life. I'm 58 yrs old. He put me on prednisone I now have been on for 3 days. I'm now experiancing my arms and neck and hands hurt so bad I can't even turn my head or use my arms and hands. Has anyone else experianced this? ## I haven't personally experienced this same thing, but I do have to say that it sounds more like an allergic reaction, rather than a side effect, which would also explain why he gave you the Prednisone. A side effect is a condition caused by the drug that can be annoying, but tolerable, such as nausea, drowsiness or dizzine...

My doctor prescribed Trilpix a few months ago. I had to stop taking it as I began to suffer acute shortness of breath. I am a Type 2 diabetic with kidney disease. I currently have 50% kidney function. I have been reading the contraindications for this medication and it says people with kidney or liver disease should not take this. I have stopped the medication and have a new appointment with my doctor. Is it possible that for the months I took this my kidneys could have been damaged further? Has anyone else experienced the shortness of breath with the medication? ## I have been taking trilipix for 6 months. What is the cost of 135mg trilipix after 80% insurance? ## Have you called and asked your pharmacy? this site does not manufacture, nor sell any medications, this is an information only website. The price is also going to vary from area to area and from pharmacy to pharmacy, so I can only give you an approximation. On average, 90 of the 135mg tablets is around $450, so after an 80% insurance coverage, your out of pocket expense would be around $90. ## how much is 30 tablet of 125 mg of trilipix?

My doctor prescribed Triplix to me to replace Tricor. I am on these medicines cause I have low good cholesterol. I have had shortness of breath a couple times since taking it and never thought it could be this medicine. I also have gained a significant amount of weight an can not loose it no matter how much dieting I do. The only connection I can make is this medication. As of today I have stopped taking it and will continue with my diet. I will see where this leads me. I think this medication is bad juju. ## Those can be normal side effects of most such cholesterol medications, that's why many people can't take them. Learn more Trilipix details here. Looking for something effective but less expensive. Can you give me some drug names and common dosages? ## Trilipix contains the active ingredient Fenofibric Acid, it is most commonly used to help lower cholesterol. It doesn't appear that there is currently a generic on the U.S. market, but there are other alternatives, such as the statin class of medications. You can learn more about them here: Have you discussed it with your doctor? ## Trilipix contains the active ingredient Fenofibric Acid; it is used to help lower cholesterol and since it was just approved in 2008, there is no generic for this formulation.
