This study is based on a 450 mg/day dose of Tramadol in comparison to a 15mg/day dose of Methadone. So if you ask me, my thoughts are that 50mgs of Tramadol wouldn't have results that are as significant as what was displayed in the clinical trials, since that would only amount to 200-300mgs a day (when taken every 4-6 hours) as opposed to 450mg/day. Hi, I already saw a doctor, he prescribed me 6 tramadols a day to help cope with withdrawl, because I ran out of Fentanyl patches, and this medication is not available on this island!... My luggage got "lost" by the airline and when I got it back it was opened and I missed some clothes and... the half of my fent patch (other half was in my purse)... I stuck back 2 old fent paches on me with tegaderm tape, but I sweat the whole time...? Anyone's got an idea?? Its friday and my plane only leaves Sunday!!

After many years of back and knee pain with no success on codeine and panadol for pain relief. I changed my dr and he has put me on tramadol 50 to 100 3 times daily, relief was amazing I feel a different person after one week. I do see many people trying to get off the drug on here. But if it was working for you with pain relief why not just stay on it. I am 77 years old so don’t think addiction would be a worry. I found a small round white pill with a J on one side and a 5 on the other side in with my perscription of Tramadol. It is smaller than all of the other pills in the container. I read the instructions and it said they are a narcotic. ## Hi Nancy, According to Wikipedia, hydrochloride is defined as an acid salt. This is not opioid-derived from what I can tell. In the pharmaceutical field, my understanding is that the presence of hydrochloride acts as a catalyst for better absorption / bioavailability. For this reason, hydrochloride exists in a myriad of drug formulations (including non-narcotics). However, there are reports of individuals being hypersensitive to hydrochloride and noting that they should try to avoid it whenever possible. I tested positive for tramadol. I don't take tramadol. I take suboxone, trazodone, cymbalta, lyrica, Wellbutrin, prednisone, & singulaire. My grandson who is in his twenties had a terrible earache. I gave him a zolpidem, a trazodone, excedrin and nyquil. He was still hurting so I gave him a 50 milligram tramadol. Now I am worried about how it will affect him. He is also on antibiotics. Is he going to be okay? Should I stay awake and monitor him? ## Tramadol is mainly used for depression or anxiety, insomnia so not for sure why that would be a good choice since he already had so many other drugs in him. I think he probably was very groggy after sleeping quite a bit but def over medicated. I would have checked every hour. Hope he is better now.
