Hi all. I started Topamax two days ago after much hesitation (scary side effects). I had severe migraines from age 17 to about 50ish (I'm 61 now) then they subsided to an occasional migraine and low grade cronic headaches that had about the same duration as the former migraine pattern. Not as debilitating but exhausting nontheless. After struggling with rebound headaches in addition to the real ones, my primary doc recommended Topamax and also suggested that it might, possibly have a positive effect on tremor and weight loss (fingers crossed). I'm also on an anti-depressant and thyroid med if that makes any difference with Topa. So, after two days I'm concerned enough to stop taking it. I'm not concerned about the fog, tingles or numbness, I've read here in the forum...

Yes, I have, and am presently taking topamax for miraines and extremely bad cluster migraines, I spent four days in the hospital back in Sept, I have never had so much pain in my life, give it a try it should stop them, and you will lose some weight too!!! I lost 15 to20 lbs. ## Topamax has been suggested for my Fibromyalgia. I want to know if anyone has taken for that specific condition. If so, has it been beneficial. ## started on Topamax 25mg for fibromyalgia which were also causing the headaches. I'll keep you posted and let you know how it's working ## Not diagnosed with Fibro but treated like I had it. Topomax with Lyrica only relief in seven years.

Hello, I found a random small, yellow pill with a big "S" and the numbers 711 on the back, in my daughters background. I was prescribed Topamax about a month ago for migraine prevention. However, I have developed side effects of numbness and tingling in my hands and feet, concentration problems, problems with motor skills, and not much improvement in my migraines. I am going to ask my doctor to stop taking the the Topamax even though he advised that it would take a couple months to completely see the benefits of it. I just can't deal with the side effects and don't expect them to improve unless he says otherwise. I have a red rash all over my shoulders, chest and back, but with the red rash there are small dots that look like pimples. it is quiet itchy too ## my son is having bad cerebral headaches, fever,memory loss,red rash arms, all tests so far are telling me nothing,mri-ct-xray-blood-urine and is very non rational at times. he is taking topamax, xyzal, and singulair. i am a very worried mother.

Has anyone had any benefits from using Topamax for Trigeminal Neuralgia? Are there any serious side effects? ## Topamax contains the active ingredient Topiramate. Like any medication, there are those that have had good results from it and those that do not and have to try something else. Nothing works for everyone, the only way to see if it will help you is to try it. Common side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness, anorexia and memory problems. I'm 17 and I take Adderall XR, Zoloft, Klonoin, and Topamax. I have diagnosed with OCD, ADD, ADHD, and PTSD. I was reading that Topamax is mainly used for seizures and epilepsy. I have neither of those. Is there another use for this drug? ## While most drugs are only approved by the FDA to treat certain conditions, there is nothing that restricts doctors from prescribing it for other conditions, so many of them learn from experience that they can work for other things and will recommend them for those conditions that they have learned it previously helped treat. It is an anticonvulsant, that is also used in some cases to treat Migraines. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, diarrhea and memory problems. TABLET ## Topamax ## My doctor prescribed Topamax for my migraines. I was placed on a 25mg dose. After taking it for two days I became so ill. I started vomitting, I got a terrible migraine that lasted 3days. I think I also have a urinary tract infection with this drug.

I have been on 50mg of Topamax for weight loss and recently had what appears to be my first attack of gout. If it is associated with kidney stones, could it also be associated with an increase in uric acid leading to gout? ## I have just finished taking topamax, and I can hardly move my left arm because of the pain of gout.Would be interesting to hear of anyone else., ## My fiance has developed what looks likes gout after being on topamax for about a week. Has n e one used Topamax For depression? ## I'm on Topamax for depression right now and it seems to be working great for me. ## I have started on Topamax for about a week now for seizure control. I have only had two of them,but we thought this would be the best option since I have two small children at home.
