Tizanadine Side Effects

I've been on Tizanadine for about 9 months now! I take 4 mg at night for sleep! I feel I'am in tolerance to it now! I wake up with anxiety, nausea and no appetite! These symptoms can last all day! I want off of this drug, it's horrible, I feel like I'm in withdrawal all day!
Has anyone else had this problem with this medication?
I plan on tapering off slowly, already tried cutting it in half, not good!!! Almost had a seizure, at least it felt like it!

Hello, Mary! How are you?

The FDA classifies Tizanadine as a muscle relaxant, so there shouldn't be any real need to taper off of it, unless your doctors feels that you need to do so, for some reason. It is non-addictive and non-habit forming.

Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth.

Are you on any other medications?

Have you consulted your doctor to be sure what's causing these symptoms?

Yes, my doctor said, it's possible that I could be having rebound effects from this medication! Not many have it, but, I'm super sensitive to medications, so it's most likely! He told me to go off slow!
You see, I was on benzodiazepines for 20 years, 4 1/2 years ago! Tapering off those was the hardest thing I ever did! I know what withdrawal feels like, that's how this drug is making me feel!
