Actually I was calling my CVS store today and they don't even carry potassium iodide. They said that it's not generally available in our area, and the one place that does carry it requires a prescription. Who's going to get a prescription for this stuff in case of emergencies anyways!?!? The radioactive particles are supposed to reach the west coast of the U.S. by tomorrow (Friday 3/18). Geez. From what I have seen on the news, however, there is supposedly little threat because of how diluted any radioactive plumes have become while traveling over the pacific ocean.
