Hello fellow Hypothyroidism sufferers, really good posts here. I wish I could read replies. Been on Tirosint for 15 days and a lot of things are better. Joint swelling and pain down, facial swelling down, but hair, nails, and irritability are the same. However, that feeling of being poisoned has really faded. Generic and name brand Synthroid were awful. So fingers crossed for next thyroid test. ## Hello, DeDe! How are you? If you click on any post, and scroll down you will be able to read the relevant replies, if there are any. It can take awhile for everything to turn around, once you find a medication that works for you, if you've already had such improvements after just 15 fays on the Tirosint, then you are doing very well. Its typical side effects may include nausea, weight chan...

I was recently diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. I have been taking levothyroxine for almost two weeks. For the last four or five days I have had a weird feeling. It is hard to explain. I don't really feel dizzy but I get a strange feeling in my head. I guess you would describe it as a head rush. Has anyone else had this feeling and will it go away as my body adjusts to the levothyroxine? ## yes i would get that every morning after i took my pills and drank coffee. I think its inmortant to eat a little over an hour after to avoid the dizziness. It does go away though. ## Levothyroxine Info and Side effects Click Here ## my pharmactist changed my thyroid pills because my insurance doesn't cover my other ones. I am wanting to take St. John's Wort for depression but I'm also on Tapazole for a thyroid problem will it interfere with Tapazole? ## I used the Medscape Interaction Checker, and didn't find any issues listed, but it is always best to double check with your doctor, or pharmacist to be sure. Tapazole may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, loss of taste, hair loss, and itching, according to FDA reports. Ref: Tapazole Medline Plus Are you on any other medications? Have you informed your doctor of your depression?

I have been taking levothyroxin for 3 or 4 years. Recently, somehow I forgot to take my dose each morning. Completely forgot about it. As a result, about 6 weeks later, a phone call from my doctor after reading my lab results from blood test ended with advice to get to the emergency room ASAP and get admitted to the hospital. My blood saline level had fallen to a dangerous level and I was in danger of stroke, heart attack, death, or coma. I had been feeling very weak for some time and had no idea why. Even standing and walking around the house at home had become a major effort. So, I went to the hospital as advised. I ended up spending 3 days in the hospital, getting a saline IV the full time, as well as starting back on my levothyroxine regimen. My saline count had fallen to 118. 3 day...

Have pills in zip-lock bag, which I have no idea what they are. Small, round, white, with P on top of the scored line and 12 on the bottom. Was on Levothyrosin, synthroid, and Armor thyroid meds over the past 7 years. The experience that I had with each one goes as follows. Levothyrosin made me feel like crap! I was tired, moody, sad, and questioned my sanity while I was on it. Weight gain! Synthroid made my skin, hair dry and brittle! It made me feel very irritated about little things. Weight fluctuation! Next, Armor I liked because I felt great! It helped me get my skin and hair back on a healthy course. Weight loss 20lbs! However, finding a doctor to write a prescription for it became too difficult when I relocated. Every doctor I asked said it may be a natural thyroid med because it comes from a pig but there is nothing natural about it! Anyway, My new doctor asked me to try Tirosint because it was in a liquid gel form and i...

I just received a refill for what is supposed to be a generic for Synthroid in blister packs. The generic name on the packet is l-thyroxine sodium and looks like the name brand is Tiroy-100 and indicates it is manufactured by Combitic Global Caplet. The pill itself is small pale orange round shaped. There are no markings on the pill. I went to their website, which is very low rent looking, to look for a photo of their pills to make sure it was authentic and l-thyroxine sodium, Tiroy-100, or thyroid meds do not turn up as being manufactured by this company. Does anyone know if what I received is a good brand? Now I'm afraid to take them. ## No answer for you, but I ordered 200mg and just received it. Have you taken it? If so, how do you feel? ## has anyone used albendazole tablets IP...

I am 70 yrs old and just started this pill. The Dr. said I'd lose weight & wouldn't get hot flashes anymore. Well, so far I took 2 pills one a day, and I have tiny bumps that itch like hell and a red rash, it's on one leg & swollen. Has anyone else ever had this from these pills?? He wants me to keep taking them but I don't know. ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? An itchy rash could be the sign of an allergic reaction, which means this might not be a good medication for you to take. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, and mood changes. Are you on any other medications? ## I'm sorry, I'm just now seeing this message. I figured Armour was giving me the rash, it FINALLY went away. I'm stil...

I stopped taking my thyroid meds two weeks ago cause dont have the money for them o was on 75 mg levothrox i feel shakey tired aggitated angry chest hurts throat sore. Amd feel large very tired my blood pressure is also high could it be from this its only been two weeks . ## Hello, Krostie! How are you? Yes, those symptoms could be from going off of the medication, as well as the fact that your thyroid is now left to be out of control. You may also experience nausea, chills and diarrhea, as listed by the FDA. How high is your blood pressure? That could be dangerous, so you need to see a doctor to have it checked it out and rectify this situation. ## I was on the same med and i was so sick and kept blaming it on other things until i did lots of research and found out that that is common....

Hi, ever since I started taking synthroid my cycle got much longer and reproductive hormones tests did not come great (low FSH, low LH, high oestradiol, high prolactin). TSH and T4 is ok though so my doctor is happy with dose (and I'm waiting for referral to endo). I can't find anywhere if it's a side effect that goes away by itself as body adjusts or is there something really wrong. Feeling anxious but my wait to see endo could be a while. Anyone knows anything? They only say that hair falling out is a temporary thing (luckily don't have that!) But nothing about other side effects... ## Yes, menstrual, and hormonal, irregularities are a reported side effect of Synthroid, along with nausea, diarrhea, muscle weakness, and insomnia. So, things should improve, once your bod...

How long should I use PTU for hyperthyroidism? I have been taking this medication for (1) year with my tsh checked by my dr. every (3) months. I take 2 tabs 2x's a day of the 50 mg Propylthiouracl. ## Only your doctor can advise you on whether or not it is safe for you to change the dosage of your medication. No one online can really answer that, since your full medical history, and TSH levels are unknown. I am allergic to the dye in the 112mcg Synthroid tablets. Does anyone know of a 112mcg that is white??? Levothyroxine ? I am now taking 2 pills on 5 days and 3 pills on 2 days. 50mcg each. ## I am allergic to the dye as well, and should be on 112 mcg. too. I like your idea of 2 pills (white..50 mcg.) for 5 days, and 3 pills for 2 days. So glad you posted your idea. Splitting the pills just doesn't work. If any Manufactures are reading this, please refrain from putting dyes in meds!!! Serious side effects can result, and the dyes make it difficult for some of us to take the proper dosage amounts that are prescribed. ## Your pharmacy should be able to provide you with a dye free option, though they may have to order a supply in for you, so it is best to make sure to alert them to the ...

I have been on synthroid for approx 11 years. Some of my symptoms never went away. Cold hands &feet, losing (it does grow back, but I have a million baby hairs on my head) hair, etc. I read somewhere that changing from a strictly T4 (Synthroid) to a T3T4 (Armour) thyroid medicine would help. My doctor gave me the new medicine Armour 1 GR (60mg). I was on synthroid 0.112MG). Did my doc give me too high a dose of the new amrour medicine? I want my symptoms to go away but I don't want to overdose. Help! ## I was on Synthroid 0.112mg and the Dr. put me on Armour Thyroid 3GR. which is 180mg. Hi, my100mg levothyroxine tablets are no longer working for me.I have been taking these for 2 years with a gradual spiralling weight gain. I am now tipping 12 stone instead of a normal 10 stones.
