Thoughts On A333 & Cvs

I, too, had to switch to CVS Jan. 1, 2014, because I now have Obamacare, Value Silver Plan & in the place I live, basically one huge Insurance Co....the only one available. I live in a red state. Walgreens, who I used for a decade, did not sign a contract with ins. Co. For the Value Silver Plan. Everyone on this plan had to switch to CVS because this is what our ins. co. told us to do! I have thought, maybe, CVS, knowing full well, it was going to get slammed with new pharmacy customers come Jan 1st & in cohoots with the giant ins. co., saw a way to make more money by buying & selling cheap & substandard "value" medicine for the people who are on this plan! What are your thoughts on this? I, too, have to take A333, along with another pain medicine (long lasting) & neither are working as well as before I had to switch to CVS. This whole situation is so stressful for those of us who have illnesses with chronic pain!

Louise-you can get anything you got before at CVS. Just request it.

For example, the "go to" hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10/325 (norco ) I take is Malincrodt.

I prefer qualitest. I just went to the local CVS pharmacies personally and took an old bottle until I found a pharmacist willing to order it.

Same price. I just call a few days before my refill to ensure its there.

Do your part and do the footwork. All of CVS isn't some big conspiracy with the health care system.

Don't buy into that bs. The new system works great if you advocate for yourself!

Louise-i thought I replied to this thread...maybe forgot to hit send...:)

With my pain meds I went to 4 CVSs with an old bottle (you could get old records) to request MY specific generic.

The first 3 didn't carry it and said its on the new diversion list. The 4th did, is happy to order it every month for me with 4 days notice to fill my rx. No extra charge:)

I figure it's up to me to do the footwork to get what i want. I finally went to a CVS that was an original "one-horse town" pharmacy.

Small pharmacy that grew up with the town and gives great customer service.

I use Yelp to check for 5 star ratings.

It's not politics that affiliates the pharmacies. It's the willingness of A pharmacist to work for you- best of luck.

This has been my experience as well i tried several pharmacies then went to small community publix where i live ive had no problems only one time they didn't have me ER med but i got a text at 10:00 am the next morning to pick it up...it's a hit or miss and walgreens has a "secret " filling policy you can google walgreensfilling policy they did fill my percocet 10/325 but it was the worst medicine ive ever taken the A333 actavis brand is awful!
